People seem to forget the fact that ADD goes both ways; it can be hard to focus sometimes and other times you focus so much that you block out everything around you. I love when that happens because then I get a lot of work done :3 it sucks to not be able to focus though.
People in my class used to be annoying me by calling me senile all the time and one day i just freaked out and hit them and they just ran away... sounds really dramatic yeah it was weird... i some years later i found out i have add and that explains everything why i can't focus in class and why my head hurts so much when i try to focus. I can totally relate to don't asking for help enough because i allways don't get what im supposed to do for my homework and i allways need mom/dad to call the teachers.. it's pissing me off like hell and im honestly giving up soon because this is so annoying six years of my life i've just been tired all the time and was crying alot. I didn't know what to do at all. My diagnose really made my life better. Thx for making this video you're such a good guy! I hope i made someone a little more together about this if you know what i mean.
Make A.D.D work for you young man, figure out the best way you learn, and stick with that, ok. People with A.D.D tend to be intelligent thats why we get bored at school. We are not lazy. WE JUST LEARN DIFFERENTLY. Don't listen to negative people that say you want attention. I have A.D.D too. I used to get hit with a ruler in my hands at school, was swatted with a paddle 10 times. STAY POSITIVE KID! I know you are good at something or a gifted kid. Focus on "your Gifts" that you excell at, and show the world who you are... DON'T FOCUS ON WHAT YOU CAN'T DO, FOCUS ON WHAT "YOU CAN DO"! Ok. We A.D.D or A.D.H.D people are smart in a different way, remember that ok. "Develope thick skin", that's another way of saying, "ignore those people or kids or teachers that are negative" ok. You will learn to handle your A.D.D one day, by MAKING it WORK for you, to your advantage. Practice that, and become a better you, not someone else ok.
I knew i had something different than the majority of people my age from kindergarten through 12th grade. I was actually diagnosed with ADHD at 44 years old. The medicine makes it easier to maintain. But it’s still hard to function normally. Just always know who you are and that those that don’t understand it, just realize that they never will. It would be like us trying to understand how they can do what they can do and how they do it. So keep your self confidence and do your best.
Wow, I can relate to a lot of what you are sharing. I am 40 and everybody in my family but me is doing very well in life. I am having a hard time to get diagnosed because I haven't been diagnosed as a child and I had some substance abuse recently. Some of the health care pros think I am making it up just to get to prescribed stimulants. After coming clean I started searching and scanning psychiatric meaning for what went wrong in my life and I am sure that I have the ring of fire type of add. Well, I won't give up on myself and although I am already 40 I am motivated and even desperate to stil make my life worthwhile. It's very sad to me that I have wasted half my life given the great opportunities that's gone forever, but it will be late then rather than never. Thanks for your video and keep believing in yourself!
I was diagnosed with ADD at age thirty - something. I learned about it myself the same year my son was diagnosed with autism. And one of my daughters has ADD also. Many people dont understand it. Some dont believe there's such a thing unless they work with a person who has it. At times when Ive gotten forgetful or confused and I tell a person I have it... like a cashier, or a service agent for example; they will chuckle. They dont think I'm serious, that Im joking and I just mean I'm having a bad day. Ive had people say maybe you just have to take extra time to focus. I do this, but life often moves fast, people dont always slow down to accommodate your ADD. I also have social phobia.
I totally understand you I am 40 and I didn't even believe in Add not knowing that I had it as well. I have not being treat it or diagnosed but I feel your pain . I have good grades when I was in school but I always had to work triple and usually I was the last student on turn the test . I usually was wondering why everybody finish before me and I thought that I was supper fast ( I had no sense of time). I always being label as slow in terms of speed. I am very procrastinator I do not like that its something that I hate about myself so much. Its so hard to do not get easily distracted or lose big important parts of conversation. I know this doctor he suppose to be very accurate about the medication on each individual because they scan your brain in order to find out your tipe of ADD or ADHD . His name is Doctor Amen. He doesn't have clinics on my state and is kind of pricey but if you can afford it I think will be worth it. Thank you for teaching so many people and be so brave about the condition. I am learning so much about this I would like to know this decades ago. Just because people do not have a classic Adhd do not mean that there are a lot people outhere that needs help. Thanks for creating awareness! God bless you !😊
Wow....watching this made me drops some tears for real. I find this video really helpfull and totally true based on my own A.D.D. I will try to give this video to my friends and hope They will understand me more than They did before. Thank you so much and hope you manage to controller your add better in the future (idk if you can controll it better or if it Even is possible to controll it XD)
I have ADD as well but I was also diagnosed with PTSD and other things I'm not comfortable to share with the internet and ppl don't seem to get that it take alot to focus on anything not to mention the energy drain when you do actually focus (that's just my personal experience)
i Have add and feel you. and it is hard i tried to explain add to my friend and it was hard and embarrassing. any way i feel you and there is a chance you are not going to see this i relay thank you.
All of this is really relatable especially as a person with ADD I am always told by my mom that im lazy even though i feel like working hard like I'm actually doing it
I was diagnosed at the age of 40 . . . but all the hints where there. Lucky me I kept all of my old school reports where the doctor could see the hints. Slowly I’m starting to learn and understand me and what caused all that trouble.
Great video! I went through the same exact thing in school and now going through the same thing at work all over again. It sucks. I'm 35 and was diagnosed with ADD when i was 7. Thank you for sharing this. It feels better knowing I'm not the only 1 dealing with this. I was starting to feel dumb and unsure of myself. Now i see it's not that at all 👍🏼
I'm 60 and can't clean my room / house . I have been called lazy . I'm just tired . 😪 my boss is a pest about me being late for work . If you can see this , kid , hang in there . Lv , gramma
I get really angry when for example im preparing for an exam... but i allways feel like i give up before even trying cuz i know it's not gonna end well. Hhhh this comment doesen't make any sense...
It's not simple and it's not easy. The condition does exist. And yes I waste a lot of time while a try to read. So much so that I get mentally exhausted before I even have started reading. Absolutely every single fucking thing catches my attention 😢 So good luck with ur studies. And plz don't compare urself with other ppl. 💖💖
I also have add I get ya!! I started taking Concerta, and almost committed suicide from the side effects that caused me anxiety. I take nootropics with omega 3 supplements which work very well. Nootropics are cognitive enhancers that do the same thing as Adderall but in a more natural, healthier, and safer way. Qualia Mind and Mind Lab Pro are best on the market.
I just liked itbecause you said 'it's real' YES! Many people just think we're being lazy and making excuses for ourselves. I wanted to sub but don't really like your motivation for doing this, to me it seems you just wanna be famous instead of spreading awareness.

I was diagnosed with a.d.d. at the age of 18. I am now 41 and still have a hard time focusing on tasks that I do.
Yes, it never really goes away. I've found that in terms of education, I learn far better outs3 the classroom.
I was diagnosed when I was child… (now I'm 16) and no one understands me…

I have ADD too do not feel like it's bad in anyway. I can't focus and actually your anger issues play a role in ADD.
I get really angry when for example im preparing for an exam... but i allways feel like i give up before even trying cuz i know it's not gonna end well. Hhhh this comment doesen't make any sense...

no
No, but i have problems on focus when i need to read so... math is easyer
I hate it! I use caffeine and chewable B12 when I really need to focus.

I have it it’s a disorder not a disease
The reason it's classified that way is because it's undesirable.
Every comment is one of the 4
i have add lol
Omg this is me
I'm 40 (life story that no one cares about)
Disorder not Disease
