Very informative. I can’t afford a long arm quilting machine, but if I could I’d get one just like yours, Donna. I love watching it quilt. You are so informative in a friendly, easy going manner. I feel like I should know you. 🎉❤
Oh my gosh, this woman is so talented and smart. Wouldn't I love to be close to this fabric shop? Thank you Donna for all of your videos. I think I've watched most of them now and I actually watch a few of them over and over. Colleen from Nova Scotia Canada.
I'm on the east coast and have ordered from them. They are extraordinarily fast, I've seen them beat other online sources stores by a week in terms of speed. And they've never botched an order either.
They aren’t actually open to the public! (So even if you went to Grants Pass, Oregon you would not be able to go in and shop there). So everyone only orders online.
I feel the same way and I live in Scotland. They are very good about shipping things overseas. That said, there's nothing like pouring your hands over the bolts...yum!!!
Thank you so much for the quilting demonstration. Helps to demistify the process. Haven't you been busy working in the business, doing the tutorials, all so time consuming, I appreciate all the effort you make so again, thank you. I am in awe!
Donna, thank you very much for this video. Some time ago you had one on loading a quilt onto the machine. Even though I don’t have a long arm and don’t intend to get one, I’ve watched that video several times. I had no idea there was so much work involved in loading a quilt. I enjoy this one also because you show other things to consider such as the thread, backing, etc. Thanks so much for these informative and interesting videos.
This was a very interesting tutorial. I enjoyed it so much. I haven't been able to sew or do a lot these past few months because I've been recovering from open heart surgery. I am so ready to have a new lovely quilt to make and snuggle up in. My strength will soon return. Thank you for your videos, they help fill my day.
Thankyou Donna! Your wonderful way of removing the mystery of mounting a quilt is so generous! You make it look easy, however.......still requires lots of effort. An amazing woman!!!!!!
Thank you so much for showing this video. I was always interested to see how you attached it to your great big quilting machine. Once again Donna you have made it look so easy.. I love your choice of backing fabrics and bindings. Have a great day
Donna! This was awesome for me to watch! Thank you for sharing this post. You have been my teacher for the past 8 years. I loved this video. The time and talent you share with us is wonderful. Thank you
I love, love that you showed your long arm today! I am very appreciative, especially for how you load. I am a newbie at using my long arm, and I was very interested in how you load yours!! Thank you very much Donna!! ❤
I loved this show. Such beautiful quilts and showing us the entire process of loading the quilts is sure to benefit many and helps explain the demands of the longarmer. God bless you, Matt, and the entire team with good health and protection.❤
What a wonderful video! It’s because of you I built an 1100 sq ft sewing studio I call my Lady Lair. I got my Gammill Statler last June and I love making quilts. Thank you for all you share and do for your followers!
Oh, Donna, your quilts are so beautiful! I love them all! Thank you for all the quilting info and tips. It really helps when trying to figure out the backing and binding. Sometimes my long armer will ask about the thread choice and quilting pattern. I like to have something in mind.
I really enjoyed this video. I love “seeing” how your mind works and watching the whole thing come together. What wouldn’t I give to have your quilting machine, it’s mesmerizing to watch. Thank you for all the inspiration you give me. One day I would love to visit your store, maybe if I win the lottery!😊🇨🇦
This is the much awaited video on this channel, I always love to watch the quilting machine in action in the end and would always think how loading up on this machine is like? Thank you for this video.
Donna, thank you for a most informative teaching video! It is so helpful to understand what is involved in the "long arm" process. Fascinating. Each of these quilts was beautiful.
Love this video!!!! I have a long arm and so much great information in this video. And now also I don’t feel badly about having a bunch of quilt tops waiting to be quilted. 😂😂 I do that too. I see a pattern I want to make and I want to make it as soon as my previous quilt top is done. So there are a bunch of tops waiting to be quilted.
Hi Donna, what a great video, thank you for showing us how the long arm works. I would love one later lol. Anyhow, is there a video for the neutral quilt that you quilted today? It's so pretty!
Donna, this is so very helpful and informative for us all . I have not been able to afford professional quilting, now I better understand the process, and the Time consumption. Thank you for sharing this with us. You are so amazing. You explain and demonstrate very well. Huggles Always 🤗💖🍀
This was really interesting. Usually the videos jump from finished top to quilted quilt. I really enjoyed learning how the quilting machine gets set up and your/the machines calculations. One thing I have often wondered about, how do you know there will be enough thread on the spool, some of them are much less full than others when you are choosing which to use. Thank you.
Thanks for the behind-the-scenes look at this step of the process. When I drop off my quilt to the long armer, I never get to see how she loads it up. I enjoy seeing the math involved and getting a better understanding of some of those buttons on the computer screen. I've often wondered how you choose the size of the quilting pattern so that it's the right proportion for the quilt; that was interesting to see you do. Thanks to your videographer (son?) for giving us a close up of the machine at 17:15. I definitely would love a 30 minute recording of the machine doing the quilting to use as my white noise at bedtime!
Thank you for sharing the process of loading the quilt onto the long arm. I had never seen that before. I wish I had the space for a long arm. Your videos are superb!!!!🤩
Wonderful guidance, Donna, thank you. And it was good to learn more about long arm quilting! I really do LOVE your pop-up quilt. It’s simply gorgeous! ❤😊
Once again - a wonderful tutorial! This is the first tutorial I've watched (and there are a LOT) on setting the quilt on the long arm that I've understood. I appreciate the thought process from choosing a backing, quilt pattern and thread color, to choosing a binding. Thank you!
I really enjoyed this tutorial. I don't have a long arm machine, but now I understand how it is done. Love your explanation of the assorted choices you have picked for each quilt (fabrics, threads and quilting patterns). I hope you never stop showing us your great tips and tricks for making quilts. I enjoy them all and look forward to each day seeing another informative video. You are the best!!!!
Oh Donna, this was just so interesting to watch. I was surprised that using the long arm machine was quite so complicated! I do love to get my quilts long armed professionally as it really does make a difference to the finished quilt.
Thank you so much for showing us how you quilt each top. It’s fascinating to me to watch those machines at work. I picked the thread that you used almost every time! I love the patterns and your explanation of why you chose them for each quilt top. Wonderful video!!
Your video was very informative and makes me more comfortable going to a quilting person as I know what to ask about. I appreciate your time and talent. Great teacher.
I was really surprised how well the quilting worked on the white corners that didn’t look flat. I hand quilt, and that would have really frustrated me. Great to watch the machine work! Thank you!
Yes, I have a few quilt tops undone. I also pick my backing after I finish the top. Thank you for showing me the step by step process. I like to guess which thread color you pick. I usually guess the one you choose.
This was so enjoyable to watch you match the backings and threats for these beautiful quilt tops ! I try to guess before you choose what your using , they are always beautiful! Thank you for this help and showing how you set up your machine, it was very educational! Blessings to you all!
Thank you for sharing how you make your decisions!! I too quilt on a Gammill & I love it!! I think I agree with most that my favorite part of the video is picking a color of thread to quilt with & then the machine starting up to do its job! It definitely looks like a binding party in your future! Happy quilting! 🧵👏🏻❤️
This was very interesting. Lots of good hints on picking thread colours, backing fabric and binding. I love the quilt that you are raffling off as well. The colours are very nice together. Thank you for your generosity of knowledge as well as quilts
I watched every one of those tutorials, I love you chose your borders, backings and bindings, that is my struggle sometimes although when I start I do have something in mind. Your tutorials are so helpful.
Loved watching this video with all the beautiful quilts and also, watching your choice of threads and backings and bindings. Again, just so many gorgeous quilts. Thanks for sharing. Love your channel. Love your shop.
Hi Donna. This video was awesome! Enjoyed hearing your thoughts and methods on your why and how’s. Finally get why sometimes you load the quilts on their long side. Thank you. ❤
Very good video explaining the steps you take to finish your patchwork projects. Very informative. You are the first one I followed when I started quilting, learned a lot. Thanks.
Great choices. Love hearing your process of picking backing fabric, thread color, and design. As a newer quilter, it is interesting to see how a pro goes thru these steps. Thanks
Thank you Donna!! I’ve always been curious about how the long arm works!! I tried it once, I didn’t get a lot direction from the person at the store. I gave up and left it to the experts at another shop. Always love your tutorials, you are very clear on what comes next when making a quilt!! Great tutorial today!! Have a lovely rest of your day !!! Kathleen
I love playing the game of trying to guess which thread you're going to use
I do the same thing with the thread and most the time I’m guess right😊
Me too.
haha... me too and I've gotten quite good at guessing which one she'll go with!
I’m always wrong! 😂
@@lesleydickson7746 Me too, Lesley, I hardly ever choose the color Donna does.😅
Very informative. I can’t afford a long arm quilting machine, but if I could I’d get one just like yours, Donna. I love watching it quilt. You are so informative in a friendly, easy going manner. I feel like I should know you. 🎉❤

However, if you place an order, you can still pick it up in person. I’ve done it several times. ❤😊
I feel the same way and I live in Scotland. They are very good about shipping things overseas. That said, there's nothing like pouring your hands over the bolts...yum!!!
Love, love ,love seeing how a long arm is set up. Thank you for taking the time to show all the steps.
Thank you so much for the quilting demonstration. Helps to demistify the process. Haven't you been busy working in the business, doing the tutorials, all so time consuming, I appreciate all the effort you make so again, thank you. I am in awe!
Loved this clip, loved seeing the process of the quilting. Also, loved how you colour matched your outfits to the quilts!

Oh my gosh this was SO HELPFUL!! Now I have a better idea of what my quilter does with my tops!!!😃😃
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
This was a very interesting tutorial. I enjoyed it so much. I haven't been able to sew or do a lot these past few months because I've been recovering from open heart surgery. I too have had open heart surgery. A huge journey but I am more well now than ever. Quilting had been my happy place since my recovery !
Wishing you a complete recovery🙏🏻
