That turned out to be a beautiful autumnal quilt. I'd like to make a shirt from the ferny back fabric.
You are the absolute best teacher, Donna. I have watched all of your videos and I watch them again because you explain techniques so well. I’m an intermediate level quilter and usually tackle less difficult quilts mostly due to the fact that I need practice, practice, practice. I started quilting at age 50 and now I’m 66 with a ton of fabric and trying to survive on Social Security and Medicare. I always hope to sell my quilts ( of course, I usually give them away as gifts). I’ll never complete as many quilts as you have, but I try to do as much as I can. I send my quilts out to a longarm quilter to give them that finished look. Unfortunately, that’s an expensive way to make a quilt, however, I don’t trust my own free motion quilting. I’m so afraid I’ll ruin my quilt!
I am looking forward to making more artistic quilts doing thread quilting and landscape quilts. This will be a new adventure for me.
Would it be possible for you to use a portion of one of your programs to show a small collection of these kinds of quilts to your audience? No demonstrations are necessary, maybe just a look at what other quilters do. It’s just an idea…

Aloha e Donna, I actually got to visit the Hoffman batik factory in Bali recently to see how the batiks are made, so this quilt is very near and dear! Thank you for supporting their business!!!! They really make some beautiful fabrics and all of the dying, chopping, etc is done by hand! It was an amazing process to see.
