Hi Donna and Family, I was recently crawling around on my dining room floor, pinning my quilt sandwich together. My boyfriend helped me manhandle a king-size quilt worth of fabric into smooth flat submission. He says to me, "How does that lady on TH-cam do this? I don't remember seeing how she did it? 😂 I said, " Know how she picks a color thread to quilt with at the end? Her quilt is already sandwiched, smooth, and baisted, then stretched on the longarm machine." He started laughing.😂 You make it look so easy Donna, thank you for sharing all of your beautiful projects with the world.
Hi Donna, You took, what looks to me, like a complicated pattern and broke it down in such a way that for me it is doable. I liked the secondary pinwheels that stand out because of the frame around them. I also liked the way you added a border and used the same fabric for the binding. I thought your idea of only cutting out the fabric for one block at a time was a good one as I could see how confused I would get with all of those pieces. Thanks so much for sharing your talent and suggestions with us!
Hi, Donna! My name is Tishua, and I have never commented on any video on TH-cam, ever! I am doing so now because I want to thank you. I started quilting last year just before the birth of my first grandchildren. Watching all your videos made me feel like I could quilt anything. So, thank you so very much. I am finally starting on my first pieced quilt, my granddaughters was a panel, and because of how much you helped me, I had to do one of your patterns in honor of that help. I am making my daughter a Jewel Box quilt. Oh, and my first pieced project was your friendship braid runner for Thanksgiving this year. Anyhow, I'm sorry for writing so much, but I needed you to know just how much you've helped me and others, and that you are a truly wonderful person. Thank you for everything.
@jordanfabrics8380 No, thank you! I'd love for you to see the test block for my daughter's quilt, but i guess you can'tadd photos in the comments here. I used kona black and bernartex marblized fabric, and I'll be adding the same turquoise border you used. I think it's going to be beautiful. Thank you for the awesome pattern!
Hi Tishua, welcome to our little quilting window, with the best quilter in the business, but also the biggest heart of the quilting world. The Jordan "Family" includes not only those with Jordan as their last name, but who also work with this lovely lady, as they make everyone feel wanted and welcome. I hope that you will enjoy your quilting journey with all of us cheering you on as well. Norah
@norahmcphee4928 Thank you for the warm welcome. I always wanted to learn to quilt like my granny, but she passed away before I could. She was the best hand sewer I've ever known. When she passed the few quilts she had not given away were sold at auction by her daughters. They were so good they made around 12,000 for them. I hope to be as great as she was. I also hope to learn to quilt dutch doll patterns like she was famous for. I think everyone calls them Sunbonnet Sue? Lol, I'm not sure the proper name. Anyways, thanks again for the welcome and for letting me brag on my granny. I hope to quilt like her and Donna one day.
absolutely beautiful!!! I love watching your tutorial's & now I can finally enter to win one as I've been watching on my tv but have a laptop too now!!! Liberating hahahas!!
Absolutely beautiful, Donna! Your videos make every quilt do-able for even a beginner! You don't rush, you don't throw in unnecessary info, you don't have animals interfering or being the focus, your voice and manner are pleasing and encouraging. Thank you!
@@sheilafruge60 I disagree. I love animals, they just don't need to be in quilting tutorials. They need to be in animal videos. You wouldn't want someone talking about how to quilt or woodwork during an animal video, would you? It takes away from the point of the video.
What a beautiful quilt. The fabrics are so soothing. Sorry your LA isn't working. Very frustrating for sure. Thank you for all the videos you share. Great inspiration for all of us.
I never miss one of your videos Donna and Family, you are a never ending source of information and extreme talent, thank you once again for taking time to do all these videos , I have learnt so much from you over the years , and I'm no longer afraid to try a new design with different shapes, I always thought they would be to difficult for me, but watching you has given me the confidence to try🥰 another beautifully finished quilt thankyou
This is a super quilt. I liked the way you demonstrated each block. I have always been apprehensive of an on point quilt but really the way you demonstrated this quilt its so doable. Thank you so much for your tutorial the video master is excellent as he show everything. Once again for sharing your time and talents. Hope your longarm is fixed shortly. 🌻
I love this quilt! My daughter has moved into an apartment. She had to down size having gone from a 3 bedroom with garage and shed to a 2 bedroom apt. She has changed much of her decor and has a new bed size. This quilt would be a perfect fit for her. I have put this quilt kit on my wish list and hope in the near future it becomes available again, soon. I have been watching your YT tutorials for a number of years and love your teaching style. With the tips that you have shared with all of us, I have been able to much improve my piecing. Thank you for sharing your time, talent and knowledge with all of us. Take care and blessings to y'all.
♥️🌹I concur with all of the comments! Donna Jordan, you are an amazing wonderful person and quilter. I thank you for your inspiration and dedication to us quilters. The saying, “It is not a home without a quilt in it.” So true!
So pleased to see you again. You've made a beautiful quilt with subtle colours. I sat down with a mug of coffee and watched with joy as it all came together. Thanks so much for sharing. ❤👍from Somerset UK
I never knew about making sure that the triangle tip is right on the seam line. That sure saves some time and lots of swear words! 😂😂. Thank you Donna!
I will admit to occasionally saying bad words in my mind when the tips get cut off, but I try not to say them out loud! Matt gave me some very good advice about 40 years ago when he saw me being frustrated by a sewing project. He said "this is just fabric and getting mad at it won't help at all - it can't change it's behavior". It is advice that we both try to follow but we are all not perfect!
Donna I scour TH-cam for new videos from you, I just love the way you teach and the camera work is always great, I don't know if that is Matt, but it is great. Thanks Tracy
This star quilt certainly is more interesting than most Ive seen. I would LOVE to see it in diff colors: pinks/blues, purples/teal etc etc THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO!
I love this pattern and have the Date Night fabric and also Boudoir fabric and they really match. I ordered the pattern from you and can’t wait to make it. It’s amazing this is one of many patterns I would not have tried until I saw you making it and made it look so easy Thank you Donna for all of your videos. I look everyday for your new videos. I also binge watch all of your videos almost every night because I don’t sleep well. I love all of them and have made many Thanks again Mary Lou ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Beautifully done… i almost stopped breathing when you didn’t press your fat quarters before cutting. You made me rethink my life choices there 😂😂. I think I would add a tan/camel triangle to the top of the large side edge triangles to give the “spools” a finished look there, but I love what you have made. Thank you for sharing this creation with us.
I did iron everything ahead of time - the fat quarters and the fabric on the bolts, but we filmed over about 2 weeks with lots of breaks and I forgot to demonstrate the ironing! I also would have liked to put accent triangles onto the side setting triangles to finish the spools but I don't like to modify other pattern makers designs very much other than adding borders.
Beautiful quilt! 🧵 The color choices make it look elegant. 🪡✂ I hope your long arm feels better soon 🦾 Have an awesome day. thanks for sharing what you do.
Yay! I’ve been waiting for a new Donna video. I’m sorry to hear the longarm is acting up again, but always excited for a new tutorial. Thank you Jordan family!
That's the first pattern that I saw...the 9 white squares. Love this quilt. Thank you Donna. Your teaching techniques and hints are very helpful. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Love this one...the give away quilt is beautiful too. Thanks so much for the videos. Always enjoy watching them. Several years ago I was sooo lucky to have won one of Donna's give away quilts. It's a Christmas pattern one. I treasure it each Christmas when I place it on the back of my couch to enjoy it for the holidays.
Wow! What a beautiful pattern and Donna, your fabric choices give the quilt sophistication! The small ‘hourglass’ blocks even look like tiny bow-ties amidst ‘tuxedos’ & ‘champagne’!
Good afternoon Donna and all the Jordan family, OOOooo Donna, this is quite a tranquil quilt in the colours that you have made it in, and i'm so glad that you put on those extra borders, they make such a difference to the overall quilt. This quilt could be for anyone as it is so restful, but would suit so many modern decors, still making the room look special, it's a beautiful pattern and quite easy i think to lengthen or/and widen to suit where it is going to be. Thank you flower for sharing yet again your wonderful talented hands at work once more. You always feel that you have learnt something new when you come to your TH-cam videos, but never feel that you are better than we will ever be, and that is the sign of a good teacher. Crafty hugs from Norah, Glenochil, Central Scotland
I would never have imagined those fabrics would make such a lovely quilt. It's always good to watch you and see the different fabrics you use. Makes me think more about my own fabric choices
Have a wonderful day .Thank you so much.
I love how you make a quilt that looks very hard, but your tutorial makes me feel confident to make this!❤️👏💯
The quilt is very pretty Donna, good job. Thanks for sharing
I have missed your shows. I love your quilts.

The borders really made this quilt. Great idea!

I absolutely love this quilt! You and your family & team do this so brilliantly. You are the GOAT greatest of all time! Thank you for teaching us all.

The borders you added really make the finished quilt even more stunning!
Oh wow! You're just the best. Everything is clear and concise. You help me so much in understanding. I love all of your videos.

That’s really nice. Every time I watch one of your videos I’m reinded of Grants Pass, I lived there for a year and it was a good time.

First thing I noticed. I went through the comments to see if anyone commented about it. 😮
I thought the same thing! I understand Donna not wanting to modify someone elses design, but I totally agree with you - I would add them. ☺
Love watching you make beautiful quilts
