This video is a game changer. I’ve been struggling with my wedges and pitching, watched this today and used it on the course and had my lowest score in months. Thank you!

Longest hitter in my group. I am awful at wedges and I have them in my hand all day. This is the first video that broke down why I was so ineffective. Can’t wait to get out there. Thanks from Indiana

Thanks for this great advice. I think this is exactly what I was missing. Going to go to a golf simulator to try this right now so that I can see my launch angles.

Good tip Clay, I’ve been a member for a few years now but I always love to see these tips and drills. 👍🏼

Spin numbers seem very low for 90 yard sand wedge. I know these were half swings but still that’s spin rates of a full swing 7 iron. When de lofting that much can you still generate enough spin to hold greens?

Good video on the trajectory control. See, geometry can be fun! Thanks for the tip on the swing path. Well done.

the problem of this technique is a 10yards- diferrence between the carrying and the total distance. Please teach me How to handle the tight pin situation. Much appreciate.

Yes, get that perfect trajectory down, and then know your distances! For me, 75 yards & 95 yards are my magic numbers for my 56* vokey

I don’t see the link for the bag. I’m happy to help out the channel.

Late watching this, but I have a question--By doing your swing, the bounce of the wedge is taken away and the leading edge, (if hit fat) will dig into the turf? So is the bounce of the club ever used besides in a bunker?

Doesn’t swinging out like that actual increase the possibility of hitting a shank unless you make perfect contact with the club?

When you lag the club ... can you feel it ? I can't seem to do it unless i cut my follow through real short

I’d prefer my wedges to have as little rollout as possible. What’s the benefit of a lower trajectory if my ball rolls out another 10 yards?

    • @Pseudify
      @Pseudify 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Personally I’ve found that a lower launch angle puts more spin on the ball and sucks it back. And my higher shots generally roll forward a bit.

@@Pseudify i will try this out next time i head out

@david Wilson I agree, I find more often than not the higher shots don’t react with the grooves while also launching higher, I suspect most are due to open face. This drill is dynamic bc you will impart more spin as more of the face/grooves go to the ball at impact.

Ok I understand the tennis swing for this wedge shot, however this half swing looks like a pitching wedge swing also. Are you saying I should be trying to drew my pitch shots?

Does same or similar concept with shaft lean work good with 25-45 yard pitch shots

30 degree launch is just 1/2 of the distance to the screen- pretty easy.

I struggle to trust this nearly every key piece of advice in this video because it appears to be in direct conflict with nearly every other video on the topic from pros I'm more familiar with. For example, this video suggests taking the club back inside (which leads to really ground contact and chunks), heavy shift lean leads to chunks), a more closed club face, etc. All three of those points are in direct conflict with typical advice. Not saying it's wrong, but it's certainly hard to reconcile.

So… your 56 deg wedge will be launched lower than your 9 iron?

I either pop fly them, or when I do get shaft lean, i shank them. No in between

I can only imagine the amount of comments you must’ve had to make you post that clarification. I’m a mechanical engineer so I understand the need to correct people’s math errors but this is a golf video. Close enough.
