    Maybe getting a different hifi rack? Stacking stuff on top of each other scratches the them 😢

      yeah i hate getting scratches but this is an audio hobby so i’d rather focus the $ on gear and Apple Music lossless for the most realistic sound.

      Yep, I have 8 amps in the house (3 are Parasound, 2125, 2250v2, Zonemaster 2, Arcam AVR5, Arcam PA240, Denon X3700H, Denon 1910) and the Parasound 2125 is my favorite.
      The only amp I disliked (has power, but not musical) was my Emotiva BasX-A3 so I've sold it.

      @@nobicubalibre2143 Yes and although the Parasound 2125 and 2125v2 crosstalk is only 67db @20 Khz, by running 2 amps and only using 1 channel of each amp (no bridging) to either the L or R speaker, I've eliminated the crosstalk in the amp, and increased the crosstalk to >75db via the Parasound 2100 preamp.

    Great review and love your set up. A quick question, is there a way to hook up a subwoofer to A6? I want to use it in my 2.1 music system and ditch the receiver I currently use. Thanks!

    • @mrpmj00
      @mrpmj00  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The A6 does not have a builtin amplifier.
      I use the Parasound 2125 amp to output the speaker cables to my GoldenEar BRX bookshelf speakers, and the RCA outputs from the Parasound to my two sealed subwoofers (cross over at 40 Hz because that's as low as the GoldenEar BRX can do) to play full range from 14 Hz to 35 Khz.

    • @mrpmj00
      @mrpmj00  ปีที่แล้ว

      Another option which I just bought is the Parasound zpre3 preamplifier and it makes the Eversolo sound even better! The zpre3 has a LFE output to a subwoofer. But you still need an amplifier for your L/R speakers, and maybe your subwoofer if it does not have a builtin amplifier.

    I hope you are enjoying your streamer. I have a question which has received contradictory answers. Have you tried playing Apple's Dolby Atmos mixes using the HDMI out? I know it does support multichannel output, but no support for Dolby. What is your experience? Thanks in advance.

    How did you use the switch box. Is it like home theater bypass?

    • @mrpmj00
      @mrpmj00  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      INPUTS:
      A=Eversolo for 2-channels music
      B=Arcam AVR5 receiver for home theater
      OUTPUT: to the amplifier that powers the front left and right speaker

    • @mrpmj00
      @mrpmj00  ปีที่แล้ว

      A better (more expensive) option than the switch box is a preamplifier that has a Home Theater bypass (I love this feature as some newer Parasound models selects bypass even when it's off) such as the Parasound zpre3 preamplifier (or the even better Parasound NewClassic 200 pre, Parasound 2100) and it makes the Eversolo sound even better! The zpre3 has a LFE output to a subwoofer.

    If you're outputting to a Denefrips DAC, do you find the Eversolo DAC to be unsatisfactory?

    • @mrpmj00
      @mrpmj00  ปีที่แล้ว

      Eversolo DAC is clear but doesn't sound 3D live like an R2R dac like my Denafrips Ares II 12th or Denafrips Pontus II 12th-1.
      Also the Eversolo would give me ear fatigue after an hour, whereas the Denafrips I can listen for 8+ hours.

    I am considering the denafrips ares 12th-1 and DCC in combination with my Eversolo like you did. What difference does it makes soundwise in your opinion?

    • @mrpmj00
      @mrpmj00  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Denafrips Iris 12th (a DDC) reduced the following issues with my iphone and eliminated them when I replaced the iphone with the Eversolo:
      sometimes a song pauses or skips to the next song before the current song finishes
      SQ improved.

    • @mrpmj00
      @mrpmj00  ปีที่แล้ว

      I love the Denafrips Ares II 12th so much that I wish I had bought the next higher model Denafrips Pontus II 12th. But at that time, I didn't know if an R2R technology DAC (used by Denafrips) would improve the sound quality that much based on my experience with 2 delta-sigma DAC (Topping E50 and Topping E70). The Denafrips dacs use R2R technology which sound 3D like live music and it's smoother and I don't get ear fatigue after an hour of listening (I often listen 8+ hours on the weekends).

    I have the same ares 12th + iris 12th setup as yours. My Streamer is a raspberry pi based, in your opinion will the Eversolo as the streamer will make a difference in sound quality? Since I added the DDC everything just improved like in your case.

    • @mrpmj00
      @mrpmj00  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. I've read that the rasberry pi is very noisy compared to the stock Eversolo.
      The Iris 12th is very good at cleaning up the data from the rasberry and Eversolo; Iris buffers/delays then reclocks , then sends the clean data to the DAC.
      But whether you will hear more improvement depends on how revealing the rest of your room and system (speakers, interconnect, preamplifier, amplifier, speaker placement 3' away from the front wall and no tall objects between the speakers and how far they are apart -- 12 ft sounds way better than 6 ft).
      I would give the Eversolo a try because Amazon has free return.
      For me, the Eversolo improved the SQ more than my iPhone even after I had the Iris.
      Then when I added the Parasound 2100 preamp, the Parasound's volume knob sounds even better than the Eversolo's volume knob.
      On 11/2023, I am happy with my Denafrips Ares II 12th, so I upgraded to the Denafrips Pontus II 12th-1 for more good stuff. R2R Denafrips dacs don't give me ear fatigue like my 6 delta-sigma dacs.
      On 12/28/2023 I've orderd a LPS (LPS-A6 linear power supply) for the Eversolo to improve it further because 2 people who own the Iris said that the LPS improved the SQ even more but it really depends on the rest of your system.
      I have Apple music lossless -> Denafrips Iris12th -> denafrips Pontus II 12th-1 -> Parasound 2100 preamp -> 2 parasound 2125v2 run like Monoblocks by using only 1 channel of each amp (no bridging, 2nd channel on each amp is unused) -> Goldenear Brx and 2 sealed subwoofers
      I have auditioned the $5k HifiRose RS150, $20k-$26k innous statement with Nextgen external power supply.
      I hope that the LPS will give me an improvement even though I already have a DDC Denafrips Iris 12th.
      i can spare $285 for the LPS because it's way less expensive than Innuous or Hifi Rose with a linear power supply ($2700 HIfi Rose RS250A, $4k Innuous pulse , innuous statement with Nextgen external power supply costs $20k-$26k)
      And the Innuous cannot play native Apple Music lossless/hi-res lossless.

      @@mrpmj00 thanks for the very detailed reply. Much appreciated. Being able to play Apple Music natively is the biggest deciding factor for me, I have been using Tidal for years now and been enjoying it but have been in the Apple ecosystem for the longest time and just a hassle connecting my phone/ tablet to get bit perfect. You definitely deserve a sub from me. Thanks

    • @mrpmj00
      @mrpmj00  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alt93 Because you're technically confident to build the raspberry pi, the Eversolo has the option to upgrade to a LPS via two 3rd parties: internal LPS by LHY Beatechnik (www.beatechnik.com/lps-a6) or external LPS by TeddyPardo (teddypardo.com/product/eversolo/) .
      LHY measurements said that their LPS creates 1/10 noise compared to the stock SMPS.
      Teddy claims theirs is better but I haven't seen any independent comparison between LHY and Teddy.
      I think that even if that's true, Teddy uses a long external cable which can introduce more noise so the end result may be the same as LHY and even then my ears may not hear an improvement over the LHY.

      Can you please review Eversolo A8 as a streamer Dac if Amazon lets you free return

      @@sijushenoy8422 No, I don't want to buy the A8 with no intention of keeping it is unethical and causes manufacturers/retailers to raise the price of future products that we all end up paying.
      You should buy the A8 yourself, with the possibility of keeping it, and your ears/preference/room/synergies can decide if you like it.

      I agree. that’s why for stereo music main speakers, I’m now using a NAD c298 amp (and before that was Parasound 2125v2).
      In my primary mixed use movies/music system, I’ve relegated the 3 Denon amps to power less important speakers (surround back, and 4 atmos speakers).

    All you had to do is hook up a iPhone or iPad or Android device using a RCA dongle.

    • @mrpmj00
      @mrpmj00  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have tried to save money by using my iPhone instead but
      1) the wifi connection to my iphone is not as reliable, sometimes a song pauses or skips to the next song before the current song finishes, whereas the Eversolo has 2 wifi antennas
      2) the iPhone + RCA dongle is not wireless
      3) after a while when using the iphone+ RCA dongle, the Apple lightning to usb camera adapter goes bad.from all the twisting stress on the wire
      4) I can rip CDs to the Eversolo
      5) I now use a wired ethernet connection on the Eversolo because it's more reliable than even 2 wifi antennaes and doesn't use up any wifi bandwidth that can be used by. other wifi devices (I have 60 devices on my home network).

    Dont content the eversolo with AV amp
    Use amp with rca
    Dont use it as dac I have the master edision it's great with amp from... 90s

      yes, streaming has jitter, so I added a DDC (Denafrips Iris 12th) which significantly reduced jitter and improved the sound quality; it’s a very noticeable sq improvement.
