@@fk.sizzle5991 don't try to offset every attack. That flying wing attack I don't recommend offsetting, there's an easier attack where he slides his wing from the ground. It's slow and predictable so you can just learn the timing. Sometimes it's part of a combo move where he does a short range swipe first. If you want to offset the flying move you need to make sure you correctly identified the move he's doing because sometimes he divebombs. It seems like the timing is as soon as his wing touches the ground but you also need to be the correct distance away.
This is everything I wanted from switchaxe. More clean and responsive combos that also quickly change forms in-between seamlessly. Might be best variant of switchaxe yet
Honestly if you talking about those points, I think MHRise Switch Axe was better then. The switch from axe to sword was seamless and smoother, you could even morph in different directions which you can't do in Wilds. The best combo of Switch Axe in MHRise was a mix of Axe mod and sword and it was amazing and fast. In MHWilds the combos are slow and weak, moreover currently in MHWilds the best way to play in literally spamming the Unbridled Discharge over and over which sucks
Just shows what you will be able to do in the full game. This beta heavily limits our armor skills. Once you can make a build you'll rip this thing a new one. Not every weapon has a viable or good counter, it's understandable. But once we get REALLY hands on it will be able to be compensated.
@Vector_V you really did great work here utilising the new moves and counter. I think speed running with swa here need same of your mindset instead of previous mh games. We normally avoid attack because we used to it but now we need to utilise counter to get more dmg and also utilise correctly the timing of using new special move.
Thank you for this! For some reason SA runs are all almost exclusively 'rockfall' runs. More than other weapons. How do you feel about the sword counter? The chip damage seems too high, so maybe its only for light attacks
Could you share your camera settings please? I don't know why, but I can't seem to find the settings to just be able to instantly snap and lock on to the monster whenever I press the target button
It's a new tech called "sneak attack". With your weapon sheathed, press circle when the monster hasn't noticed you and you will do it. Also the game has a prompt for it, if you get close enough to the monster, you will see it.
Nice hunt, but isn't the damage a bit low? I used Lance against this monster today, and while I'm nowhere near being a pro (took me 23 min) I feel like I was seeing comparable numbers with the pokes and sweeps. Now, I've never used the Switch Axe, but wasn't it supposed to be an "all offense" type of weapon?
@@KnightCrown Well we only have the base weapons. There’s probably no point in using it in the “beta” but that doesn’t mean it’s safe to assume that it’ll suck on the full release of wilds.
@@joganaround7630 it's possible we get support skills but most ppl complaining about switchaxe is due to the moveset change that limits our playstyle heavily
This is what I was looking for. I don't really care what weapon kills the fastest per se, I just want to see the weapon at its peak performance.
I'm glad you like it
1:52 offset slash was so clean, that's what I need to work on the most
Becareful, some of the big attacks can't be offset but you still get hyperarmour if you land it
@@tasin2776 any advice? it’s so hard to pull it off when you have to preemptively counter

damn, all things considering, 8 minutes is a CRAZY clear time with a cart, that’s insanely impressive
Great work! The offset into the counter was beautiful!!!!!!!! So cool
close enough. welcome back adept switch axe

thanks for sharing dude, good shit.
ok i clearly dont know how to use this weapon properly lmao
A masterclass💯
Could I have been so much faster if not for 4:52

Hope swaxe geta buffed
you will be nerfed on it's ultimate, and you will like it.
Heyo! Lets get hyped for the FULL release in a couple months!
So much chip damage from the sword counter 😂 like why does it hurt so bad lol
This was really cool man , where did u learn how to do the moves ? Just playing around and figuring stuff out ?
Could you share your camera settings please? I don't know why, but I can't seem to find the settings to just be able to instantly snap and lock on to the monster whenever I press the target button
It should just be default that you naturally lock onto the monster, and if you ever need to snap your camera to it again, just tap L1
How did you do that unsheathe attack at 0:30 ?

Swaxe is so sick in this game tbh

There's no reason to use switchaxe in wilds. Only old switchaxe mains will bother to use it.

What confuses me the most is that capcom heavily reduced/completely removed hitstop. Mf, YOU INVENTED THAT EFFECT, WHY DID YOU REMOVE IT.
Yeah I noticed that too, weapons in MHWILDS have no weight whatsoever
Can someone explain what happened at 0:54?
Sword mode has a counter
@Jeitee oh shit that's dope !

Since it looks like it'll count as a guard, maybe the Guard Skill will affect making you take less damage?
Yeah... I really really love Swaxe but this game's iteration, at least for now, is really not it.
