- Everyone’s been hyping up Aquashella, a fish convention for hobbyists, so I really wanted to attend the Dallas 2019 one. But… I’m a major introvert who’s still trying to stay semi-anonymous. So what was it like? Which FishTubers showed up? Was it worth attending? Keep watching to hear my version of the story!

To be completely honest: I enjoyed every video you’ve put out so far (even the axolotl videos and I don’t even own axolotls)
I can’t quite describe what it is, but I have so much fun watching your content. It’s funny, informative and the way you talk is so charming !

Lol! I deliberately didn't look at anyone's Aquashella video before I made mine, because I was afraid of being influenced too much. Turns out my style was totally different than everyone else's. 😅 So glad to hear you liked it!
I agree with what so many others have said...I think so many of us are serious introverts, but you wouldn't think that if you met us at a fish convention. So glad you went and glad you talked to the other fishtubers.

Ahhh, it was so nerve-wracking! I seriously felt so out of place, at least at first. Haha, kinda reassuring to hear that probably a lot of the people I talked to were probably fellow introverts themselves. P.S. Thank you so much for commenting so much on my channel. I actually have no idea how to register as a FishTuber! I bought a ticket online the first day sales were open, so I didn't see an option for FishTubers? How did you do it?

Haha, I'm actually quite independent (goes along with the introversion), but my husband gets concerned about my safety since he can't live without me. ;) Next time he'll probably want to come along, which means I won't have to drive! :)
@@GirlTalksFish Correction, I don't think *I* would be able to go alone. I'm independent too but when it comes to "first times" I'll get in my head and get anxious/anxiety. Still great that you went 😀

It was so nice to meet you too!! Oh good... haha, I'm a secret introvert. On the outside, I look really outgoing, but as soon as the show was over, I crashed hard and wanted to crawl up in a ball and not talk to anyone for 24 hours. 😂

That looks so cool- I hope Aquashella comes back soon! Unfortunately I can only make it if it's in Texas again, which isn't likely since they were in Dallas so recently, but maybe when I'm older and can go on my own I'll be able to travel out of state to go there!

Yes, it was really awesome at how accessible all the FishTubers (and PetFest people) were. They were all really nice and willing to have extended conversations with the fans. I unfortunately won't be at the next Aquashella in Chicago, but maybe we'll have another chance to meet up at the next big convention! P.S. Thank you for the congrats... as a fellow TH-camr, you know how hard the content creation grind can be so it really means a lot coming from you. :)))

Thank you so much! It was my first convention, so I was super excited to see everything. I think many of the bigger FishTubers have been to other conventions before, so they mostly stayed at their booths to meet fans and sign stuff. :)

Man, pictures of Aquashella when it was totally crammed full of people virtually gave me hives! I could never, ever do it. I can do conferences that are connected to a hotel where you can sneak off and get a nap, but being at that big Convention Center would just be hell with fish...which, granted, is better than hell WITHOUT fish!

Hahaha! Too bad I didn't have a hotel room close by because I would've seriously considered that. Hehe, I skipped lunch accidentally because there was so much to see and then I didn't want to miss the keynote!

Oh man, I heard they're getting an even bigger venue at the last minute because of how crazy busy Aquashella Dallas was. Hope you have an awesome time!
Aquashella wasn’t too bad but they just weren’t prepared for how many people in Dallas were going to attend, waited for 2 hours outside and was almost to the front of the line once they announced the fire marshal was there and saying they were at capacity. Unfortunately I was only able to attend Saturday, but hopefully next time they just host a bigger venue
Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that! Definitely sounds like they'll be getting a bigger venue. They wrote an apology/explanation note on their Facebook page and have started looking for a bigger venue in Chicago because of what happened in Dallas.

Yes, you should definitely attend next year! This was their first year in Dallas, but I'm pretty sure they're going to come back (and get a much bigger venue).

Is it always at the same place?
Nah. They just started it and, so far, have constantly been moving it to bigger venues each time. First one was in Chicago, second one in Dallas, and the third one is back in Chicago. Hopefully it'll be in your corner of the country soon (if you live in the US).

Haha, so I took off my regular sunglasses but I did wear the orange sunglasses they gave at the door the whole time. You could totally see my eyes, but hey, better than nothing!

what is dumpster diving?
Apparently, he wants to "dive" or dig around in the dumpster of a Petco or PetSmart because they throw away all kinds of products that are still usable. Search for it on TH-cam and you'll see some examples. :)

LOL! I'm totally a closet introvert... I'm really outgoing in person, but then I crash hard after the party/convention and have to avoid human contact for at least 24 hours afterwards. 😂😴
