I love seeing these miss the Betta Shows I used to go to but honestly can't keep fish anymore my hearts not in it I hate fish dying on me after 1 year or so can't do it anymore but I still use tanks as my figure holders

What an amazing piece of driftwood, totally worth the effort of getting it home! Your slow realisation of how much of a pain it was going to be really reminded me of the time I decided to bring an aquarium back with me from Canada to Australia... in carry on. The things we do for fish!
I'm so excited to see the progress on your Fangorn Forest tank! I made a Tolkien-inspired aquascape too! Mine is inspired by The Hobbit. It's a 14g rimless and it has Bag End, and a path leading to the Lonely Mountain (made out of Frodo stone, of course!) with gold-colored gravel and colored glass beads for the treasure underneath. It houses my red twin tail halfmoon betta, Ziggy Stardust, some Neocaridina shrimp, Endler's livebearers, and of course white wizard snails!
Taylor it was really great to meet you at both the VIP gathering the night before the main event and then at Aquashella (Dallas) sorry we couldn't provide cooler temps. I'm glad everything made it safely home. I had to do everything to not buy all the things either. I hope to see you next year at Aquashella Dallas again.
Hopefully you flew Southwest-where two bags fly free! Lol! I can’t wait for Fangorn! And those giant bettas! Unfortunately I got 🦠 during Aquashella, or I would’ve been there!

I just came home Monday from Chicago...I went to the same wood vendor, and came home with 10 good sized pieces....was able to fit them all in my suitcase, bought two tanks, and won a jellyfish art nano tank!!...luckily, my LFS guy from Michigan was there and took my stuff home, while I took the train home 🙃
I was taken by the many giant male Plakats that come as Koi, Copper, etc. It's so cool to see so many Gorgeous Giant males. I love those Galaxies, you got at Aquashella. Best of luck with your fish, aquariums and wood. 😁😁
The do it when they get there! The vendors arrive a day early to set up their booths and spaces. The really big booths with lots of scapes will have a team of people working on them :P
@@SimplyBetta no one's going to judge you for spending too much everyone here would do it too. It's just helpful to know for our own adventures into the wild what something like this will set us back

I understand your stuggles. Many years ago I found a HUGE piece of drift wood at the river. Of course we were in my Camry, not the truck. I ended up folding the back seats down and fit the smelly piece of wood from the end of my trunk all the way to where my gearshift was. Did I regret it? No. My Iguana named Godzilla loved it. I loved the dancing!

ok, so I have been wondering. Did I spark the idea of the LotR tank? I remember you saying "ooohhh" when i mentioned trying to find an Eye of Sauron to put on the top of your spooky rock because it looked like Mt Doom.
You sparked the idea of a Barad-dur tank! :D This one is different, it's Fangorn Forest, which has been an idea of mine since I tore down my Bag End tank. Sigh, I miss that one.
I'm going to be closing down my tanks in the near future for a couple of reasons... 1. I want to reorganise the garage. I want to get a wood lathe and do some woodworking and I need to move the tanks around. 2. I want to make some proper stands for my tanks and I need to make the space available (see point 1). 3. My mum suffers from Alzheimers and has lung cancer... and she doesn't have long left. So, I can't spend as much time caring for the tanks as I should. Plus when my mum passes, I need to move house. So, having the empty tanks is going to make things easier for me.

I'd have to rent a private plane to bring home all the things I'd want, lol.
