MS has already confirmed to release more games on the PS5. They've already released a port of HiFi Rush on it. They're going to be doing this across the board over time to maximize profits (as is Sony on the PC end of things).

This doesn’t tell me the devs are hardly scratching the capabilities of current ps5. This tells me they are completely struggling now and almost from the start of this generation. The vicious circle of consoles by mid generation are completely struggling, then a mid gen release. Slight boost for a short period and then they decline. New gen and then it’s the same scenario the circle repeats. Low to mid range hardware at release as designed to sell to the masses. This will never change.

I think devs of big games releasing now are already aware of the PS5 Pro abilities and even have dev kids since it's only 2-3 months away. So i believe a game like Wukong already has a PS5 Pro patch version and they will release it the moment the console comes out.

And it’s not just a gaming device. Can also be upgraded. £700 ish you will equal ps5 but same again can use dlss and FG to boost.
I'm skipping PS5 Pro and putting that money towards a 5080 or 5090 if it's performance is a big enough leap. All I really need at this point is high end PC , Steam Deck 2 , and Switch 2. A PS5 Pro is like a quarter of the money needed for this cards. So skipping it hardly makes you buy one of those. Personally i see such cards as such a horrible value for money that i think a PS5 Pro is better to buy. gamers should refuse to buy over a 1000 GPU's and force this GPU makers to drop their prices. Newer process nodes used to offer lower cost per transistor along with the benefits of reduced die for more chips per wafer and the power/cooling improvements substantial to merit re-engineering the whole console to take full advantage. If you look at major CPU generations like the Pentium III, Pentium 4, and AMD products of the same eras, they spanned many process nodes over their lifetime with largely the same architecture. There's be tweaks along the way as the companies had better data about real-world performance and such, but a third revision P-III was not greatly different from the first release. This is no longer the case. The cost per transistor on a new node can actually be greater than its predecessor but outweighed by the other benefits, so long as you're creating a new product rather than trying to cost reduce an existing product.The benefit of a die shrink for an existing architecture have been so greatly reduced that it is rare to see a company like AMD move to a new node without a major new architecture version being part of it. There was never any point in putting ZEN 2 on 5nm rather than choosing that as the point where ZEN 3 took over as the leading edge for AMD. Which means even if a Sony or Microsoft believes it would be worthwhile in terms of performance and added transistor count potential to have their current APUs on 5nm, it isn't going to happen because they'd have to shoulder the entire expense for doing that port rather than getting it nearly free if AMD were to do it for their products and be able to offer it to partners using custom versions. This would be VERY EXPENSIVE and require the resulting console to be a huge seller, which just isn't likely for a mid-gen upgrade. This is why the PS5 Pro will be a much milder upgrade than the claims in rumors over a year ago. The special chip that will do upscaling with Sony's own AI code is a very smart thing that will of load work from the GPU and at the same time allow games to be upscaled in high resolutions while looking clean and perfect. Also AMD has changed course for Raytracing tech in their upcoming RDNA 4 and are actually dedicating hardware acceleration for Ray tracing instead of just letting the GPU use what it has to do some ray tracing. PS5 Pro is rumoured to have RDNA 4 elements when it comes to Raytracing so the 4X Ray Tracing improvement Sony was saying is because of that. This allows PS5Pro to have another element that will be a major jump vs normal PS5.
Starfield is not a good game. I would honestly think very carefully before buying it. I’ve played about 40 hours on gamepass and very happy I didn’t buy. Hopefully the next elder scrolls will get Bethesda back on track.
Xbox has no exclusives. I own a ps5 and a pc. If a game comes out exclusive for Xbox I just play it on my pc. Most of the time it’s trash tho anyways like the new halo and starfield
Need more info on the comparative performance of the Strix Halo chip that will be in the new Asus Flow Z13 (2025). Will it truly be as performant as a Mobile RTX 4070? or a Mobile RTX 4060? What about bandwidth and power constraints saying otherwise? Will the leaks already out there for the Strix Halo's performance hold true after the somewhat disappointing Zen 5 launch? Will it also be a underwhelming product when compared to the current Flow Z13 (2023), considering that the leak states Asus is planning to not have a dedicated GPU in the 2025 version? Really wanted to get a better idea of that 2025 version because I was planning to buy a Flow Z13 in 2025 ...

PS5 pro will perform way better than that imo. A $400 digital PS5 (2020) can often outperform $500 6700 XT (2021). If you’re using the regular PS5 as a benchmark, a $599-649 PS5 Pro would be equivalent to around an unreleased $700-750 GPU

I have a launch-day PS5. It struggles to play PS5 titles. GT7. GoT. Returnal. Spiderman: M.M. Among others. I'm getting the Pro so I can play the games in my library...
idk if it struggles....i played gt7 and returnal and i had zero problems.... i have had tons of pop in from elden ring, maybe its just the games. but i play at 60 fps most of the times i dont use anything but preformance mode, and if the ps5 could just combine the preformance mode and qulity mode id buy it
The only reason you would get PS5 Pro is GTA 6 coming out next year unless you want to wait another year for PC release. If not, I'd skip this generation for PS6 (if they make it).
VR is very much chicken and egg situation, what killer games are out that you want to go out and buy this but because no is buying it no killer games are being made for it! I still maintain that if Sony worked with Rockstar on a 1 year VR exclusivity and they created a bundle of PS5 Pro + PSVR2 + GTA6 for maybe £799 that would sell really well and get the VR headset in loads of homes.

The only good thing about the PS5 is if playing NHL 25 or NCAA Football 25 because EA doesn’t believe they will sell for PC.

What about bandwidth and power constraints saying otherwise? Will the leaks already out there for the Strix Halo's performance hold true after the somewhat disappointing Zen 5 launch? Will it also be a underwhelming product when compared to the current Flow Z13 (2023), considering that the leak states Asus is planning to not have a dedicated GPU in the 2025 version?

The only reason you would get PS5 Pro is GTA 6 coming out next year unless you want to wait another year for PC release. If not, I'd skip this generation for PS6 (if they make it).

VR is very much chicken and egg situation, what killer games are out that you want to go out and buy this but because no is buying it no killer games are being made for it!
I still maintain that if Sony worked with Rockstar on a 1 year VR exclusivity and they created a bundle of PS5 Pro + PSVR2 + GTA6 for maybe £799 that would sell really well and get the VR headset in loads of homes.
It's always going to be a niche product, just like 3D TV. Mainstream consumers are not interested in having to wear a device that can only be enjoyed by one person at a time.

Resident evil vr games are FREE and great(this is the killer app) but again the survival horror is not a huge section of gameing.

but add on top of that, the ppl who get motion sickenss with them, i myself cant play longer than 2hrs straight till i get a little bit of it, but i stop before then.
even then since its wired for pc and ps its hard to sell to ppl who have SMALL or little room, thats most of the world....
the meta does good becuase its small and wireless, but it has the WORST games and never will have good games because it lacks power..
what vr really needs is a decent mmo type game that would REALLY set it off, a good one, i have a rpg game in vr and its good, but an mmo type...............and somehow make it so ppl dont get sick or mild cases.
