In the original Norse mythology, Sif and Thor are married, so I think they threw in the bit of jealousy to reflect that.

I missed catching the premiere at the beginning. I recently found your channel and have been enjoying your reactions.
I LOVE THIS MOVIE! I am in the minority of the fandom in my love for this movie, but I don’t care.
The heart wants what the heart wants😆
Full disclosure, Loki is my overall favorite character in the MCU,so that may make my opinion of this movie a little biased, he does kind of steal the show.
I am also a big fan of the “Scientist Three” Jane, Erik, and Darcy!
I love how Jane just doesn’t give a f*ck, she will slap a god in a heartbeat and sass Odin.
I love how they highlight the love and connection that Thor & Jane have. When she understands the Asgardian technology, the little smile she and Thor exchange 🥰
They share a connection of the minds, and I have always appreciated how they showcase that in these early movies.
Most people’s biggest problem with this movie is Maliketh and how the dark elves are one dimensional villains. While those people may not be wrong, not every villain needs to have an arc or be complicated, sometimes you just need a bad guy for the hero to punch and that is ok. This movie for me was more about family and the relationships that Thor has with the people he loves. They needed something to bring Thor and Loki together as well as Thor and Jane. Maliketh as a villain served this purpose well and for me was just fine.
Fun Fact: this was supposed to be Loki’s last appearance, his death was supposed to be real. Test audiences didn’t believe it and weren’t happy with Loki being dead permanently. So they decided to go the route of just having Loki fake his death and impersonate Odin. I can’t wait for you to see what happens next with that storyline. Your feelings about Loki are spot on, we have all been there, at the end of the day, Loki is gonna Loki and you just have to either love him or hate him. Most people end up loving him, because he is just so damn charming and charismatic. It doesn’t hurt that Tom Hiddleston is very easy on the eyes and has that smooth, deep, killer voice and accent 🥵 and also that he absolutely kills it with his acting and showing all the many complex layers of emotion and personality that make up our Loki. Hiddleston is a great actor and loves playing Loki. It shines through in his performance.
My interpretation of why the Avengers aren’t always called in is time. In this movie we see the conflict happen so quickly there just isn’t time to assemble everyone. Basically by the time Thor realizes there is a problem, that problem has already made its way to Earth. It isn’t the best reason, but it works for me.
The real world reason is money, filming schedules, and the hero’s needing to have their own more focused movies to help build their character arcs and flush out the universe they all live in. It is the same in the comics from my understanding. They all have their own individual stories, villains, and battles and then come together for “big events”
You will see 😉 like Thor says in the Avengers, Earth has now shown the rest of the universe that it is ready for a “higher form of war” and that is should be considered a threat.
There are always real world questions that aren’t answered clearly in this franchise, just like with any superhero story, suspension of disbelief sometimes has to work overtime when watching the MCU or any superhero movie for that matter.
Thanks for all your hard work and I hope your channel continues to grow. I will keep tuning in for sure!
    💚🗡💚

    1. Loki actually learned the trick of conjuring another image of him from his mother, Frigga..
    2. for your confusion, there's a scene where you can find an asgardian soldier is in the planet where loki died..and if you check, there's a green aura in that soldier..which means loki changes his appearance into that soldier..then returned to asgard to "report" that loki died..

I just want to complement you on the editing of this reaction - editing is such a vital part of a great movie reaction and it's amazing how many reactors totally mess up that part of their videos, but you nailed it!
As for why the Avengers aren't called in for every big world-ending event, it's just something the viewer has to accept as part of the MCU, otherwise there would be no solo movies. Every movie would be an Avengers movie, and none of the cast would ever have the time to make other movies. I guess that's one of the reasons why they set this movie in London - it's just far enough away from New York that the big fight at the end would likely have already been over by the time the Avengers got there.

Remember the days when the scrawny antihero underdog was the lead in blockbuster movies? Those days are long over. To be a leading actor in Hollywood, you need a dietician and a person trainer, if not a dealer. And we get the guy who I always confuse with his brother. Hemsworth. At least these movies try to be funny. But I doubt you’ll see another big actor like Tom Hanks for a while. The biggest draws will be guys with personal trainers. Just ask Channing Tatum. He’s made a career out of it.

"Then it's time to work out again. The afternoon sessions vary. One afternoon he may concentrate on his arms and back; another afternoon, on his shoulders and chest. And other times, depending on how he feels, he may just do them all. Eastwood is careful. In his workouts he uses light weights and many repetitions. He knows that heroes don't look like Arnold Schwarzenegger. ..."

Although I agree to an extent… this movie is about Thor… this character is a VERY strong guy… they wouldn’t cast someone scrawny to play him, it’s not a story about a scrawny underdog, it’s a story about a beefy strongman… I dont think Tom Hanks would be a very good fit either… 😂

I am really enjoying watching these movies with you. (Let's face it, the other choices too!) Just from these first movies, Tom Hiddleston is such a great actor that it's hard to figure out Loki.I think I kept wanting him to come back and hoped he would after this one. My belief with the Avengers not being in this movie is that they want to give these heroes their own movie. (Maybe it is too expensive to get all of them anyway.) If I could I would want you to get your own movie, and yes have Jen in it too because you both are terrific. Thanks for the fun love, hope and peace for you always!!!!😀👍❤
