Dorn, you're such a freaking powerhouse. You gave me a big, powerful man who was a warrior poet to look up to. You brought Worf to such life for us all. What a gift you gave us.
@@NeoTechni when Mike Sullivan (Janeway's holodeck boy toy) asks her if she's the Queen of the Fair Folk, it's a reference to her role as Queen Titania on Gargoyles.
@jarl4206 the h3 podcast always have time stamps. It's just you need to do the work and set it up for every video. So maybe they don't have the time or people to do it. Happens. But timestamp would be great
My mom always had (has?) a huge crush on Dorn. She never watched Star Trek, knew nothing about it, but when I was home and TNG was on, she'd come into the room and always say the same thing: "Have you ever seen him without his makeup on? He's SOOOOO handsome!" lolol
The respect and affection that the whole TNG cast have towards each other has only endeared them to the fanbase. It makes their onscreen chemistry shine even more when you realise (as a fan and viewer) that these people truly enjoy working with each other. And despite the series ending decades ago and the subsequent films as well as Picard season three, the bonds of friendship that exists still continued long after the final curtain call
Best quip Mr. Dorn dropped was when Lavar Burton was doing Reading Rainbow behind the scenes of Star Trek and he stepped out of the makeup trailer. “Stand aside. I take wide steps.”
love Michael Dorn! The 'gold shirts' were always my favorite characters in TNG (Data, Worf, Geordi) and loved him on DS9. Plus he's done some great VO work. Who can forget I.M. Weasel!?
"I am Worf, son of Mogh, House of Martok, son of Sergei, House of Rozhenko, bane to the Duras family, slayer of Gowron. "I have made some chamomile tea. Do you take sugar?" Worf totally made Picard Season 3 for us. Years ago, in the answering machine days, the family was entertained when I redid the message in passable Worf voice: "What do you want!?!" Michael Dorn is an absolute treasure to his art, to his sphere of influence, to humanity.
One of my favorite television actors and voice actors. Another Justice League Unlimited alumni. His performance as Worf of course is legendary and his Othello aka Coldstone from Gargoyles my all time favorite. Gargoyles had great Star Trek connection with majority of TNG reuniting for the Dark dramatic Disney show. I even enjoyed his voiceover work with Gorgan in Fantastic Four: The Animates Series as well as the voice of Prometheus. I read somewhere that James Avery was kind of the runner up for Worf in TNG.
I worked with Michael Dorn’s TNG stunt double back in film school. Nicest guy ever, and had nothing but great things to say about Michael. I got to see Michael at my first ST con. What a class act all the way through!
Also, it invited the audience to consider alternate points of view, instead of demanding it, like most modern entertainment. That’s what makes ST so unique among all entertainment. That’s why it’s aged so well.
Excellent interview. I remember that episode, "Code of Honor".....I remember the conversation my family had during and after that episode. There were no kind words shared about it. Whatever they thought that episode was going to be, they missed the mark by miles. 71 years old...... Black don't crack.

He also voiced John Henry Irons aka Steel and Kalibak. That episode from Superman: TAS "Heavy Metal" with Malcolm Mcdowell voicing John Corbin and his line business in the hood was so hilarious. Its how he said. Fun Fact: Alexander Siddig who played Bashir in Deep Space Nine is the nephew of Malcolm Mcdowell. Mcdowell also appeared in Star Trek: Generations playing the antagonist Saron and its so crazy that Mcdowell plays an antagonist again in Superman: TAS to Dorn's Steel aka John Henry Irons. Thats a deep cut episode. I highly recommend that epsiode to anyone in this thread.
Loved this interview! I'm a huge Trekkie (as well as a Warsie) and TNG is my Trek--love all the other Treks but I literally grew up with Next Generation. Some of my favorite episodes are the ones about Worf--you got to see him grow and through him, found out more about Klingon culture, which was so cool, elevated those characters from 2-dimensional bad guys to aliens that were nuanced and complex. But I also love to hear Michael Dorn's interviews because he has such a good, positive view about everything. His life story is truly one of hard work and triumph. What's not to like?
Awesome interview. Thank you, Michael. I like how diplomatic Michael was when talking about Code of Honor. He was being polite by calling it the worst episode ever
Great interview with Michael Dorn! He didn't get to completely answer a couple of times, but he was great with his responses! Fun! Thanks Mr. BDorn Bravo guys!
Great episode! I've never really been a Star Trek person and never really watched the shows. But hearing Michael Dorn and Michael talk so much about it, it makes me wanna dive into that universe finally. What a career he's had. Super cool.
I've liked Dorn's work over the years and this interview really let me get to know him. Excellent work Rosie. Some people are mentioning other TNG reunions but I haven't seen XCOM2: War of the Chosen mentioned. Dorn, Sirtis, Frakes, Crosby and DeLancie all had big roles.

This is the second time I've watched this interview the whole way through. A fascinating insight into "the business". Michael Dorn is so cool. I'm only 59 and I didn't look as good as he does when I was 45. This interview is going to recruit so many people to some level of vegetarianism or veganism. And I liked his choice of The Magnificent Seven as one of his favourite Westerns. This film had five of the coolest actors in the world headlining it: Yul Bryner, Robert Vaughan, Charles Bronson, Steve McQueen and James Coburn. Any one of them could carry a film and you get the full set. Great interview.
