I can read chinese, and this looks more like a civilian ration... No millitary mentioned anywhere.

Hmmm..... M9 is not PLA MRE, it is a civilian brand emergency ration...

You could slip that ration heater into your sleeping bag after you are done heating your dinner and it would keep you warm on a cold winter night.

Definitely NOT a military ration. It’s a commercial meal like something we’d buy from Mountain House at a sporting goods store. Oh, and you burned your fingers cuz you didn’t put it back in the insulation sleeve

Nathan, the scary part is that you would know what an air freshener tastes like. :) Kudos to the Chinese for an excellent heater. The portion looks OK. Kind of pricey, though. Thanks for the review.

You are correct this does look much like the rice part that came with the type 13 Meal that I enjoyed about a month ago. Although, mine came with a different sauce more that was sweet and almost no heat. Speaking of heat, those heaters are so good that mine almost scared me. I made the mistake of leaning it up against the leg of my wooden desk to heat. At one point I was fearful my desk might catch on fire! Perhaps I need my own "rock or something".
