There is one thing you missed. The heat pack can be reused once. It's not as hot as the first time, so it's good to warm the cake. Put almond cake and chocolate candy in the heat pack. And put a little water on the small side. Put the heat pack back into the sand-colored package and lock the zipper. After the meal, you can enjoy a soft almond cake with chocolate paste for dessert. In winter, however, soldiers give up soft cakes and use heat packs as hand heaters. And do not try to find Menu 1. It tastes the same. And the reason why there is no beverage powder is because the ROK military is trying to distribute canned drinks to soldiers as often as possible.

      Kit Vitae
      First come, first served.
20 years old Korean men must receive physical examination.
Then, they are classified into active-duty, public service, exemption.
If you are classified in active-duty, you should apply branches(infantry, armed, and so on...) within period.
When you apply branches, it is first come first served.
I hope this will help... sorry for not being good at English. :)

A lot of website sell them. You might want to try searching for "전투식량" (MRE in Korean) on search engines like Naver. • @ArashiOdayakana
      @ArashiOdayakana 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Kimchi is a spicy, fermented variable-vegetable delicacy in the Korean Peninsula. There's two main ways of preparing it. One is fermentation over a period of time(the longer, the better like cheese and booze), the other is done with vinegar(lower-quality, the taste may tinge your taste buds). It's relatively-common all over the place AND in some parts of the United States as well depending on where you go.

I love how you mix ALL of the food components together to intertwine each flavor to enhance and work off of each portion.
Some might cringe at having everything mixed together, preferring to eat separately but as my Dad (RIP, I miss you, Dad) used to say, it (the food) all goes to the same spot anyway so why not live on the edge.
Thanks again, Steve, for your presentation.
It was not only "cool" but "nice," too.
I almost forgot....that Flameless heater seems to be the top of the pile WRT heating whatever food you'll be heating plus it comes with the proper amount of water to activate it saving the soldier (or trekkers) from having to use part of their hydration liquids to activate it.
All other MRE manufacturers should take note. The ONLY potential downside I can imagine is if the heater was somehow damaged and the liquid came into contact with other parts of the meal. Then again, that is why each component is individually wrapped, right?!?
    Thanks again.
    Overnout.

My favorite part of the MRE pack is the almond cake. I have a very "western" palate due to my personal experiences living in NZ and US in my life, so I will take bland wheat-y flavors over kimchi and spices any-day lmao.

I had a very nice Korean neighbor for about 6 years.
She let me make kimchee with her one fall and I was told we could add many other vegetables.
Well I emptied my garden and brought stuff over and she saw the burpless cucumbers I had harvested and made my very favorite kimchee. Cucumber!
It was the same spice rub/mix as regular kimchee but she cut the cucumbers in a cross cross almost all the way down a chunk but left held together at the end(geez I can type a lot but not sure if explaining properly.)
But just stuff the peppers and salt mix into the centers of the cut cucumber and pack tight into the little square kimchee boxes she had. It has a plunger in it to keep everything under the developing brine.
She moved away with her husband to Arizona but I sure miss that nice lady.

Thanks @Stever1989MREinfo for the reviews & info. I was in the US Army from 96-04 so I haven’t has some of the newer MRE & never had the pleasure of eating a foreign force’s rations. Some of them look badass.
When I first came into the service they still have plenty of stock of the okd MREs. They were dark chocolate brown bags and the menu was pretty poor. E.G. the “Four Fingers of Death” MRE which was 4 hot dogs. Midway through my enlistment brown MREs finally started to disappear and we got the new tan colored MREs with a better menu. Cheese tortellini and Pasta with Mixed Veggies were the only two vegetarian MREs available. It’s crazy how much us Combat Arms solders ate in the field. We got K-Rations from the cooks for breakfast, 1-2 MREs for lunch and hot chow cooked for us by the cooks. Had to be around 5K calories daily. Heh.
I was a 19Kilo M1A1/A2 Tanker. You would have loved being on a tank. We had 2-3 cases of MREs at any given time. Some people hated them, some toerated them & others loved them. I dug MREs. We’d often bet $ on anyone who could eat the 2 crackers without water in 60 seconds. Dont know if the crackers have changed but it is an impossible feat. The crackers will dry your mouth and suck away any moisture. You’d get sick of them but would strangely miss them and in the field when you were really hungry and chow was bad, they were a Godsend.
Keep up the great work & thanks again. Ur vids crack me up. 👍😀👏

OMG!! This is the very ration that Ive had more than 10 times? I guess during my service in ROK army. It is....not Good....lol. But somehow it looks good through ur clip! Just wanted to leave this comment cuz I really didnt expect to see this haha
Just so you know, unlike what u said from the clip, me and my collegues used to put sponge cake into the heating bag while we were having rice and enjoyed the cake while it was still hot. That is the only good thing I remember haha

민재킴 taste is different for everyone, maybe you didnt like it since its worse than good korean food but his sense of taste still likes it, kinda how i as a german do like kimchi even if its not perfectly prepared simply because its nothing i eat too often and something i can use together with different spices for the main course to change up german food, anything that contains sourkraut (basically kimchi with way less seasoning and thus sour instead of spicy and made from european cabbage) can taste really nice and different that way
