    Военторг = Voentorg
    Voyna = war
    Voyenniy = army man
    Torg = trade
    So voentorg is just an army trade company

    This is not a real military ration.Its a civillian copy to sell on amazon etc.

    • @rednek666
      @rednek666 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      He did not claimed it is,but the title on that box says ARMY and made by military company "Voentorg".Also he did ask himself or us,is it real or just a copy,so i said its a copy,any further questions?

      just judging from the packing method, i incline to agree w u cos as a gut feeling i feel its a must for a militarily oriented product need to be adaptable to inclement weather.

    • @soddinnutter5633
      @soddinnutter5633 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's very close to a regular ration. Main differences are: fewer hot drinks (2 packs of tea instead of 3), one 70-gram choco tablet instead of the 5 20-gram officer bars, no sweet rice/dried milk porridge, no choco/hazelnut paste and no multivita tablet. Oh, and the sugar packs are smaller, and only 3 chloramine tabs instead of 5. Also, no ration heater pads, just the esbit stove (although, since none of the mains are in retort pouches, the FRH would be useless).
      Though the package does give it away as being a civvie version of a military ration.

    Haven't watched the video yet, but Voentorg - they supply surplus army goods. So they aren't a manufacturer per say. I do believe this is a commercialized army MRE, with this flashy box and all. Contents ought to be mostly the same though. Oh and that bubblegum was tutti-frutti flavored!

    Actually just thought I would share this bit of info my family all men have been in the military most all their lives & things I've heard over many years in listening to their stories is My dad said the reason behind most military Rationed meals in Russia having so much fats & juices in their mains is it was very common for their soldiers to carry large chunks of breads in their backpacks & as that bread would age and harden they had rations that had lots of excess juices in them and they would be able to use those breads in those rations with very little to no waste of food and the juice soaked bread is very filling and stuck with them longer just a little tidbit of info I picked up over the years of listening to stories from my grandpa dad and uncles that I thought you guys might be interested in hearing..

      Kasha is just any cooked (in liquid) grain. From rice to corn and everything between. For example oatmeal is also called "ovsianaya(oat) kasha".

    So i recently tried a Ukrainian ration that had both a barley (breakfast) and rice (lunch) kasha dish in it. The best way i could describe the smell is a can of Hormel corn beef hash. No idea if others agree but to me that smell before i heated it up reminded me of that.

      Not exactly. In fact, it is written as "армия" which is pronounced as [ar-mi-jah] or [ar-mi-yah] depending on what transliteration method you prefer. But yeah, 99% would understand the english word "army" if pronounced distinctly.
