Keep up the great work. It's always a joy when I see u posted another review. I have a couple WW2 k- ration from my grandfather he had from back when he was in the army. Nice review, as always.
The salty ones may be a preserved plum flavour. The Chinese have literally dozens of different variants of preserved fruits. The plums are cured in a mixture or salt, sugar, and licorice in varying proportions. Some of them are quite sweet, while others suck the sides of your mouth in.

Hi Nathan....Nice look at the other Chinese flavours. I recently reviewed the Chinese Pilots emergency flying ration, which was basically the green pond algae version......surprisingly quiet tasty.....like yours, they were extremely dry and you would need plenty of drinking water.....Thanks for sharing.....ATB.....Mick

I'd like to compare the quality and flavor of these to the U.S ones some day. I have always thought these would be lower in quality but that's only going on looks from videos but I do know the U.S bars are very well put together.

Very cool friend. Art and Nina set you up quite well. I love those folks. I have tried several countries , including the U.S. just not these from China. They seem to have varied flavors and tastes. Some bars like these, can be mixed with water, to make a porridge, or, something like oatmeal . I wonder how these would do, with that addition?? You might give it A try, with one of the leftover bars. If generous, send me one, I will try it, with A review that I will do , as dessert? Awesome bars, and review sir.
