Love it, man! I got a bunch of Falcam stuff based on your advice about 6 months ago, and just got back from a 4-month round-the-world trip with my family, using ALL of it the entire time. The stuff never broke, gave out, loosened... it's been great. Thanks for the suggestions!
Been using these quick release system for a while now, I love it! I even use this to mount my phone when im in the car. It's like playing legos with cameras, the possibilities are just endless 😎
Great job on the video David! Thanks for making it. I'm a big believer in making everything quick-release. I use a mixture of traditional QR plates (Manfrotto) and RAM Mounts for when I'm filming adventure content. That allows me a crazy amount of options for where I put a camera. Anywhere there is a 1/4x20 hole or stud, I can pop a 1" RAM ball on there, and mount a camera. Once I figured out how to drill and tap aluminum, I really upped my game by being able to add that functionality to just about anything.
I use and love the Falcam system - which I first learned about from your channel. Given that you use lots of 1/4-20 mount cameras along with action cameras, I’m surprised you have never switched out the stock GoPro feet with the $15 adaptor that has both a 1/4-20 screw mount and the foldable GoPro tabs. They make the falcam system even simpler to use.
I love their F22 system. They have ones that aren’t even in their activewebsite , but these pop up occasionally locally and they are incredible !!!! Check out their F22 clamps !!!!
One is a square of 38mm width, the other is 22mm. They also make plates that are compatible with both, which essentially manifests itself as a plate that is 38mm x 22mm (i.e. not a square).
I wouldn't recommend the Falcam F38 plate, after using it keeps coming loose after a few hours, carrying on the peak design capture or the camera strap with the Falcam F38 quick-release plate. No matter how much I tighten the screw to the camera it eventually comes off, today the camera fell off because the F38 plate came to lose, lucky the camera was hanging low to the ground so no major damage was done. now I have the fear of it coming loose all the time, I have to regularly check the plate from time to time to make sure it's not coming loose.
Have the same experience with their backpack shoulder strap quick plate. Walking around town even with the lightest of mirroless it loosens up all the time (Fuji X-E3 + pancake 18/2), no matter how tight I attach the tiny quick plate onto the camera. Maybe it's more for light accessories (like the mics etc around a cage) and action cams...
Will the cage you use for your 7siii work on the 7riii? Also, I just got my order of F38 Shoulder harness, Adapter plates and the rotating horizontal to vertical ring mount. OMG I love that thing!!!
I’m confused. I want to get the falcam cage for me FX3. If I have a sachtler tripod, what plate mounting plate should I use? Can I put a sachtler plate to the cage? Sorry. I’m a newb
For that setup, you’ll want to pickup the Quick Release receiver in addition to the F38 plate. You can then mount the Quick Release recover to your Sachtler tripod plate. Then your cage can quick release in and out. Check out my Quick Release Camera Rig video I made a few weeks back👍
Hi David. I have an issue and I thought who would know the answer to this?! and your name popped into my head. So I have been using the F38/F22 system for years and it's on all my gear. Never had an issue until I wanted to try manual focus on my DJI RS3. I have the all in one plate from Ulanzi/Falcam that has the DJI long plate with the F38 connector already attached. Then comes the issue. No holes for attaching the manual focus pole. Looking at the original plate that comes with the RS3 there are three lovely little holes to attach the pole holder, but alas not on the F38 plate/connector. Did you also hit this issue as I know you converted everything across to F38, and if so how did you get around it? OR have you just not the all in one plate for your Gimbal? or last of all you don't use the RS3 for manual focus? :) any help from you or anyone on this Channel would be appreciated. I think perhaps Ulanzi just didn't include the holes due to Design and the only way I can manual focus on the RS3 is to use the original plate, which sucks as everything is so easy to move the Camera around my gear :( Now I have reached out to Ulanzi to confirm in the meantime but someone may have a snazzy workaround as I am thinking if I cannot attach the pole, I won't be able to use ANY of the manual focus abilities of the RS3 unless I use the included plate. I know I know .. I just want everything!!
Is the f22 narrow enough to go on a Gopro max without disrupting the invisible selfie stick? I’d like a quick release system that I can use for all Gopros
Hello. You really got excited. Your joy is infectious. I'm on the fence. Through your amazing contact at Falcam can you please determine if the Ulanzi Falcam F22 & F38 Quick Release Ball Head for Action Camera would be compatible with Peak Design Capture clamp. I know the F38 works in the PD ecosystem. I'm curious if the 22/38 hybrid would be as well?????? Can you help? Please? 🫣
😂 now I know why I have to pay so much for these things man!!! To cover all the sponsored hand me outs 😂 just a pity I'm not important enough to get free stuff!
That looks so awesome! I recently bought a few camera quick release mounts from Ulanzi and I love them. I wish I had known about Falcam earlier since the mount seems more compact than Ulanzi's.
If it helps, the F38 plates are also arca Swiss compatible. So you can keep any of your current arca Swiss tripods, but just switch to the F38 plates and slowly build up your quick release kit👍
@@DavidManningvlog I just got my delivery of F38 products. The functionality is nice, as you pointed out, but they are also just so nicely put together. No regrets.
The problem here is - this is GRIP gear - which should be an investment and a universal one at that. You buy all of this and in five years Falcam/Ulanzi goes out of business and GoPro changes their mount and now what?? NATO - 1/4 20 - ARRI pins - these are all universal at this point - I buy a smallrig cage today with Nato rails and Smallrig goes out of business - every company makes NATO compatible things - I tried even making all things manfrotto mount or all things arca - at the end of the day - you are going to pick up something without a mount and have to screw something at some point on set. And if you pick up one thing that cant go on another and you don't have an Allen key - now its a problem.
It’s a great system but their customer service is AWFUL. They sent me an incomplete order and I’ve sent 3 emails already and haven’t gotten a single reply.
I promise it's worth it!
It’s quick release Christmas at the Manning House 😂
Will that action camera ball head get loose over time and floppy?
did it ever come out

I saw this and now Falcam is all over my studio. Huge time saver. I’m building more specific Rigs just because it’s easier

That’s exactly how I feel about it! Big kid legos!!!
Alright you convinced me! I’m sold on trying them out, purchased two F38 quick release bases, and an F22 kit. Here’s to hoping they work well!
You're about to go down a very fun rabbit hole!🤣

By far the best mounts I have used. Thanks for the suggestion

I’m pretty certain they’ve been talked about before in another video
and that ladies and gentleman...is a true unboxing surprise face! XD love it!
So stoked on this setup🙌
Love the falcam stuff….they were very nice at the NAB booth. I want to switch to all f38 quick release, plus the mag straps all the way….all the way.

Ach, David, you're like a kid at Christmas - all the toys !! Smiling, here 😀 Looking foirward to part II
What is the difference between the F22 & F38 systems?

Do you notice any looseness, wiggle or play with the sony a7siii in the cage with only one screw?
David.. Would you go with the Snapmount or this F22? Or is there a place for both? Thanks!
Very cool almost like Christmas with all those goodies. Can't wait for part 2
David Manning at a candy store, lol. Heck, this is David Manning at Disney World. Love the enthusiasm.
Thanks for the review, looks really practical
I love the system and have it on everything. Only thing I hope they release is a mini selfie stick with F22. Like the GoPro one.
How would this system hold up in salt water? I’d like to use this with my GoPro
It's all aluminum, so I would imagine it would do quite well!
which monitor mount do you use and is it capable of holding the 7" monitor with a battery installed while tilted?
Thank you for sharing!🔥
I had to stop the video, I was laughing too hard at "did that come from Columbia?"
Doesn’t it though?! Looks like it fell out of a CIA plane in the Everglades!
@@DavidManningvlog totally. I’m excited to pick up a few pieces for my setup. Love your videos - I’ve learned so much to help me build out my kit!

You gotta make another video about whether there’s a way to get one of those cages on a capture clip!
Any tips for a d810 user for this system. They don’t make a cage or plan on doing so 😭
Would I them only for the tiny F22 plate 😅!
Which tripod is it at 1:55 min?
Why do I feel like David could do a good Kermit The Frog voice if he wanted to!!
Oh man I need all that swag
What table tripod was that?

Hi DAvid... love your videos and info like always... just ook a look at thier stie and found a great camera strap system... kep up the good work
Still no Falcam F22 quick release cage system for Fujifilm X-H2S/X-H2!

Just so you know, Ulanzi, Falcam and VIJIM are all sub brands owned by Shenzhen Ulanzi Technology Company.
Can't get another system, it's gotten too crowded. ULANZI Hummingbird is my last quick mount for a while lol
i want those!!!
From Columbia.. ;-) ;-)
I have so much Arca Swiss and Peak Design kit. It's going to cost me a fortune to switch. Thanks, I guess..... 🙃

Feel like this is an incomplete video even if you have a 22 and 38 opening box, we would love som e testing!!

First to comment!! Great video as also!!!
The Ulanzi site fucking sucks... so poorly optimised
