Anyone count how many times I said "quick release"?
174.5 times
Did you mention "quick release"? I just bought a new smallrig cage.. But nice vid ! :)
I want a count of how many times you said "Rig"!
its an addiction,,,, Quick Release gear... love it...
I have the full F-22 and F-38 systems and the cage for my a7Siii. Been running it all for about 6 months and it has been flawless. Love it. Hoping Falcam adds more quick release gear.
I talked to them at NAB and was throwing a ton of ideas at them for the F22/F38 quick release systems! This rig is amazing to use and so damn easy!
Magnificent set up. Great video. Congratulations David and family on the new addition.
Thanks Brian! Appreciate that good sir!
Great job on the video David! Thanks for making it. I find that typically if I need functionality beyond what I can attach directly to my camera, then I'm usually also setting it on a tripod. So what I realized was that I needed to do was add that functionality to the tripod and not the camera. I use a pair of Manfrotto tripods, so I ordered a bunch of Sioti RC2 Quick release plate adapters to slap on my little travel tripods, cut off a 2"x12" piece of 1/8"(ish) thick aluminum, drilled and tapped A LOT of 1/4" holes on it, and then sandwiched it in between a RC2 plate and adapter. Now I have a sturdy little plate into which I can screw just about anything and that can live in between my tripod and camera body. The plate is quick-detach on top and bottom, so I can either take the whole rig off easily, or just remove the camera.
Congrats on the new baby girl!
That's a super fun setup! I'm a massive fan of DIY solutions!
Exactly what I needed !!!! Thanks a lot David !!!!
Thank you! This is great, just what I needed
Thanks Leah! Love hearing that! For sure the ease of building and breaking down this rig is the best part
Love the build its nice and compact as well!
For sure the secret sauce of this build is how slim and compact everything is without losing capability!
Randomly found the F22 plates for my phone rig and love it. I need to get a few F38s plates to build out my camera rig. Loving Falcam
Switching to quick release is a game changer!
Thanks David... So super useful... Who doesn't like ways to make it easier... You are such a gadget man.... Congrats....Blessed are you among women! Happy for you and Morgan et al! If only there were a quick release diaper rig... 😊
Quick release diapers would be AMAZING!!! We're trying to convince our almost two year old to ditch the diapers so we can reduce our diaper load around here🤣
very cool set up. I would like a set up like that because it looks so cool.
Love it David!! What cable are you using to power monitor? Is it a DTAP out to DC IN?
Hahaha the “i probably don’t need this rig like, ever..” part was funny.
Loved the vid.
Hi David, thank you for the great videos around all these Falcam products!! Just wondering if there is any way to mount the F38/Peak Design plate onto this cage, so that a camera in the cage could be used with the peak design capture clip? Thank you! 😄
Brilliant video, thanks for sharing!
Thanks Craig! Hopefully getting more people into the quick release world!
@@DavidManningvlog agreed #quickrelease, 😁
I have a ton of Falcam stuff. My only issue is for actual camera to baseplate connections. If your cameras are on the heavy side... the Falcam stuff is not really stout enough. For all the stuff that connects to a cage, yes. Perfect.
Checkout the F38 and F50 quick release systems from them. They can handle the biggest of rigs!
Congratulations for the lil one
Bro I can’t with your videos, I just want to buy everything lol, your rig is awesome, congratulations to you and your family.
Hahahaa! There’s so many fun toys!!!
David excellent video and the equipment is awesome. I suspect that my Canon R7 should not be an issue? Congratulations on you’re new daughter.
Man, you just ruined my life. Now I gotta build that same rig.
Amazing video, you’ve got a new subscriber here!🤝🏻
Thanks for sharing! I purchased the entire quick release cage system from Ulanzi FALCAM!
I don’t even have the camera SONY A7S III yet! 😂
Congratulations to you and Morgan on having your 3rd daughter!
Thanks Mathew! Total chaos, but pretty dang awesome!
yeah the Falcam quick release ecosystem is supercool, waiting for a BMPCC cage !
Congratulations
Don’t lose the screw that goes in the bottom of your cage. Ulanzi/Falcam does not sell them separately. A real challenge to find a replacement.
Daaaavee 🙋, I don't know how I missed this one
I've bought so much Ulanzi accessories that I might as well be their brand ambassador 😂 but yeah love their quick release sytem and everything else they make, kinda like camera lego. I've built up my ZVE10 and ZV1 and with most of their stuff.
Don't worry bro when I tell my friends about their stuff I also mention quick release like there's no tomorrow 😂
Would Falcam F22 wood handle fit a SmallRig A9 Cage? thanks
Nice to see you back, David - thanks for the video! Is the bottom plate permanently attached to the cage, with the 1/4-20 bolt passing through the plate to secure the camera? To remove the Small Rig cage, one must first remove the Falcam plate to get to a second bolt to remove the camera from the cage. It would be great to avoid the extra step. Good luck in the Baby Bubble!
You're exactly right Stephen, the F38/F22 plate is part of the cage. So no need to ever remove it to remove the camera. I've really liked my SmallRig cages that I've had, but quick release is for sure the thing that will make me switch systems!
Thanks for your reply! I am full-on Falcam 38, due to your previous videos. I love the system
Low key want to see how much more stuff to can attach to your camera at once. 😂 Next step is adding in backup cameras. 😂
I thought about adding an Insta360 on a magic arm so that you could shot BTS shots from the rig!
Can a rode wireless go receiver still fit into the cameras hotshoe with the cage on?
i dont do video so this is a photopgraphy question. I have a promediagear flash bracket. Would it make any sense make the switch to attach a flash to a magic arm f22. I would have to buy the cage since thats what falcam has with canon. the benefit would be that most of the time you can go easily between portrait and landscape mode on a tripod and i just have to carry around a magic arm for events... although I have never seen anyone use magic arm for flash vs a L bracket. the youtubers seem to all use this setup for video so is it just weird or impractical?
Quote: "Quick Release Makes Life Better" David Manning..... lol
does the top handle work on smallrig cages?
I hope Falcam makes a cage for the a7rv soon... I have the Tilta half cage now
Doesn't the A7RV have the same body as the A7IV? I'm pretty sure the cage for the A7IV fits the A7RV, but confirm that first
Hello everyone! I have a quick question, does the F22 plate on the cage actually works with nato rails handles?
I got this entire system!! My only issue is the F22 Monitor Mount. It swivels 360 degrees SO easily and can't figure out how to tighten it. I plug in my HDMI cable and it twists. There's only the one knob to tighten for tilting, but I can't seem to stop the easy swiveling. Ideas or defective? I see yours is VERY sturdy with a 7" monitor + battery?!
I hope Falcam makes a cage for the Fujifilm X-H2s/X-H2 soon.
Congratulations on being a 3 time daddy!
It's bananas, but awesome!
" Quick release makes everything better " that's not what she said.
\The thing that really worries me is accidentally pressing the button on the top handle rod (close to the monitor)...
David and Morgan, congrats on the birth of your third daughter! I am hobbyist photographer, so no need for this type of rig. But I am sure your professional subscribers find this video useful.
Thanks Cesar! For sure different rig setups for different audiences. What camera are you currently shooting on?
@@DavidManningvlog I mainly shoot while I am traveling, family events and chasing the grandkids. I currently us the Nikon z50 with its kit lenses (great travel camera).
@@cesarm8811 Great camera setup!
Can you do it with a gopro? 😅. Great ideas
😲🤩
Great rig! Would you know if the F38 plate on the bottom of the F22 cage can be removed and replaced with a Peak Design clip?
so you bought most of it because it was cool... xD...god bless america
Before I'd do all of that, nonsense I'd buy a Sony video camera.
Hahahaaa! But an A7Siii is a Sony video camera!
