Amazing truck.. I bought mine 3 weeks ago and I don't regret it. Moving from a suv to a truck is a must especially if you plan on moving things around.
As someone in the market for this size of truck, I am leaning towards the Colorado. The Tacoma looks great, but it's to damn expensive for the amount of stuff you don't get. The Ranger also gets pretty expensive, and gives you some better amenities. The Colorado definitely wins here.
It was hard to find a review of the 2024 Colorado Z71, thanks for sharing. I looked at a red 2024 Z71 over the weekend. Pretty sure I'm going to pull the trigger.
Why did you trade your Tacoma? I am glad I saw your response as the relates to my decision. I have been teetering between the two and picking up my Z71 tomorrow.
@76ProudPatriot Earlier in the year, I went through a below the knee amputation. The Taco was too small for me with my prosthetic. The Colorado turned out to be 9 inches wider on the drivers floor. I looked at Ram 1500, and the price and quality problems they are having was a big factor. Ford has had long-term issues with their eco boost engines. I honestly found the Colorado easier to drive than the taco. I got the 2.4 liter 4 cylinder, and it has better fuel efficiency and a more comfortable interior. The 0-60 is rated at 6.5 seconds. The chevy engine is built with a lot of diesel components.
Nice to see American Muscle branching out of mustangs to other cars and trucks, you guys always were awesome for my mustangs, looking forward to seeing what you do for these Colorado’s.
That back seat is just too small. Might as well get rid of it and put that space in the bed. That is the deal breaker for any family of 4. I tried the Colorado back in 2018 and ended up getting an F150. Back then I was coming from a Subaru Crosstrek and at the time, the Colorado had only 1 inch more leg room then the Subaru. That is insane.
What if I told you I get 22-23 average and get 20-60 mpg in two cylinder mode and it’s regular gas no soot from diesel it towes 7,700 and gets 310 ho and 390 ft lb
Putting a turbo on a four cylinder will often get you more horsepower, torque and better fuel economy than a V6 though. I understand what you're saying, but modern four-bangers aren't underpowered! -Zach

I’m on the same boat as you. Trying to decide between a Frontier Pro 4x or a Z71.
The Colorados and Canyons are great options if you want something mid-size but American-Made! Thanks for watching!! -Zach
@@AmericanTrucksChevyGMCend up getting a ZR2, Love it
I just bought my ZR2 and it is absolutely fantastic going to take off the rock guardsa I don't need those rails. going to add side steps.
GM should have stretched the frame 3” and gave the space to the back seat for knee/legroom.
I have the colorado ZR2, It is a fantastic truck.

A couple of weeks ago, I traded my 23 Tacoma in for the Colorado Z71. The Colorado is a much better truck.

Funny... first thing I look at are the rims, how much of a pain they will be to clean... good call

That all plastic grill and bumper is nice…

Mid-size trucks definitely aren't amazing for hauling a family of four around, but they are useful for two or three people at a time! -Zach
Put the new 3.0L Duramax and you’ve got a truck. 30 + mpg
What if I told you I get 22-23 average and get 20-60 mpg in two cylinder mode and it’s regular gas no soot from diesel

@@jsharpe987 well 22-23 average isn’t 30 so
That just seems like a lot of money for a four cylinder

If they had a V6 version, I would have already traded up. My 5 cylinder 2005 was a torque beast. No 4 cylinder, no turbo. Nope.
Understood! Lots of car manufacturers are going this way though - look at Toyota with their new Tacomas and 4Runners. -Zach
