I am back with another narrated flight back at the location where I shot my first youtube video. Like a fool I took mine out yesterday in wind, once it got high it just took off 😮 had to really work to get it back as a newby won't be doing that again , that tingle is a pain but great work again 👍
Yes high wind can be a real problem! Especially when flying over water. As stressful as those flights are you learned a good lesson that will make you that much more prepared for the next one!

Nubble Light is a massively favourite location of mine as you know.
Any thoughts on the new Potensic Atom yet?? I realize image quality isn’t considered as good as the larger sensor on the Mini 2SE. Just curious.

The Potensic Atom may in fact be the first non-DJI drone I decide to purchase for the reasons of it being a potential candidate as top entry level drone. I believe it does support 4k video - Really want to get my hands on one!

I’m very new to drones. I bought a Mini SE and then picked up a Mini 2 SE with a cracked gimbal mount for just $50. I plan to fix the 2 SE and then sell the SE. Very good tutorial on the composition. I sure hope you get your gimbal fixed soon. Did you buy the insurance coverage with your drones? I couldn’t because both are used. I’m in Reading, PA about 60 miles Northeast of Philly.
Hey man thanks a lot for tuning in. Really cool to hear someone is watching from PA - I just got a brand new mini 2 se and so far the gimbal is working a lot better. Still a little jerk but I’m thinking it was due to high wind. Other than that it has been stable. I actually may plan to do what you are doing with my other mini 2 se. Replace the gimbal and give away on this channel
Another great video. I'm interested in the video and photo editing tutorial. By the way, thank you for your answer on my question to you on another video regarding cameras for doing TH-cam videos. Out of curiosity what are you using to shoot your video in the beginning showing you set up and what microphone are you using and how does it overlay on the video of the 2SE?
Hey! That’s great to hear and glad I could help! I just need to figure out the best way to record my editing method and I’ll be putting out that video asap
I use a usb powered gaming microphone and record my audio at home. I can easily watch over my recorded flight and narrate my process. I occasionally record live while flying but that doesn’t always go as smoothly 😂🙏
@@The-Drone-Guy Ok that makes sense, probably easier to do it at home so that you can concentrate on the flight then do the audio later.
I'm going to try using my phone and a Bluetooth microphone in the beginning. I have a iPad mini I'm going to use with The Drone. Have you tried using iPads with your drones?

@@flexconca I think that set up will work well! Yes I use my iPad a lot for my higher end real estate clients who can’t help but have a say at what’s happening haha
Great video! I have a mini 2 and hadn't used it for a couple of weeks. When I went into the Fly app I was getting error messages. Is there a new version of the app I missed?
Hey! I did notice there was a firmware update recently so I’d definitely download that and restart both your drone, controller and app. Hopefully that helps get you back to flying!

Not on my original mini 2 se that you see here. I essentially had it replaced by DJI 🙏🏻

@@adaminjp yes so far so good! Really can’t push the gimbal in the wind. I think I may have ruined the gimbal motor by flying in 25+ mph winds

Hey there! So glad that you have enjoyed the videos. - I definitely would suggest this drone as a starter drone. It would also be helpful to have extra batteries so buying the fly more combo may be helpful. If you’re on a budget then buy the drone separately and then one additional battery. If you have any other questions let me know!

I’d love to see what you use for editing software. Someone recommended adobe Lightroom. But either way I’d love to see how you set up your drone for landscape shots then edit them.
Hi! I do use adobe most often. Either Lightroom or photoshop. I do plan on making a video that dives into my editing style, settings and technique. Also will be reviewing some free apps that also have some amazing editing capabilities! One of my favorite is SnapSeed
Can you set the camera to fix on a subject while flying manually, so you can achieve something like a Quickshot but follow a manual path? Thanks!
Hi there! Great question, as far as I know you can’t achieve that in the DJI fly app. I have yet to explore third party apps but it may very well be possible on other platforms
5 kms! Great! I use my MINI SE on Madeira Island. I tried it from the shore to the open sea. After just 1 km, warnings asking me to come back, although the GPS coverage is OK. But it told me the signal was not good. It happened several times.
How to you fix such Gimbal malfunction?
What's the N mode ?(I use a French DJI Fly / Letters are different)
Hey! So cool you get to fly in a coastal area as well, makes fire some fun flying. Not totally uncommon for signal to get weak over water at that distance. In some days it can get better signal based on many factors such as available satellites as well as interference. You can see me manually adjusting the gimbal in the control settings of the drone. If you’re landed you can also have the drone perform an auto calibration. However my issue is more serious unfortunately, you should not have this issue.
The N stands for normal. S Stands for Sport Mode and C is for Cine Mode if you’re drone supports that. Hope this helps!
Really debating between the potensic 4K or the mini 2 SE. I believe the Atom only records in 4K through the memory card. Do i have to firmat through a laptop of can the images be transferred to phone through the app. Thanks
I believe in both cases they can transfer directly to the phone via their respective apps. I have more experience with DJI and can say that the mini 2 se is a little beast!
@@The-Drone-Guy in the UK at the moment there is only £70 difference between the mini 2 SE or mini 3 for the fly more bundles that was the other option I was looking at. Difficult to chose 😂 they all look good
Yes you ultimately cannot go wrong. I would say the dji mini 3 does have better battery life which does help as a new flyer. Either way keep me posted on which you choose!

When you use the AEB and it shoots 3 pics will it automatically merge/stitch them together or do you have to use a post photo shop app?
Hey! I actually download them separately and combine them together in lightroom.

Hey I have the same drone! It’s honestly one of the best ones for the price. I did notice that the aspect ratio does affect the camera quality, so 16:9 was like 8-9 MP and 4:3 was 12 MP. Was wondering if you still shoot in 16:9 regardless of that spec change? Really cool video btw!
Hey! This is a great point - unless I plan to print my images I’m not too concerned about the 3mp difference. Keep in mind that by taking a few 4:3 images you can combine them into a panorama (horizontal or vertical or both!) and have an image at much larger mp. Hope this helps!

Pls reply to this comment, I've been thinking about buying a dji mini se 2 and I'm wondering about 3 things, how can I take pictures vertically and in one Finnish online store I read in the additional information that the dji mini se 2 can be used with wifi. Does that mean I can also use mobile data? And the last question, does it matter what sd card you have on it?
Hi there! It doesn’t take true vertical photos or video. But it is very easy to crop an image or upload a wide video into social media and have it automatically cropped to the format. I’m not sure what you mean by it can be used with WiFi?
It doesn’t really matter the sd card but I’d say it’s worth spending at least a little extra on a card that will work quickly and reliably. Hope this helps for now!
Great video. I'm a little torn between buying a new mini se for $380 or a used mavic air 2 off marketplace for $400. I guess there's not much difference between 2.7k and 4k.

I can see why you’re torn. The bigger difference is in the image quality and obstacle avoidance. Those air drones do take some great hdr photos!
Is this a Facebook marketplace? If so Just be mindful to make sure the drone hasn’t had any issues or crashes and the batteries look in good condition. Check the camera lens for any damage as well. I don’t think you can go wrong either drone. Especially if it is your first one!

@@paullawrence8572 my suggestion is to really keep an eye on it and if you start to see any issues open a support ticket with DJI right away. They are great about sending new drones

but the weather is pretty bad here so I didn't
get much of a chance to get out with it it flys perfect happy enough with it so far I'm going to Spain with it in June some very nice places there.

Hey! Thanks so much for watching - I make sure I am shooting in 2.7k 30 fps. Depending on what your subject is or environment, you may want to adjust the white balance. However for most part these drones capture such awesome raw footage with minimal effort. If you photograph mid day a lot a filter to help with solar flare and noise reduction will be helpful

Hey!! I would suggest getting the fly more combo. The extra battery life and bag will be needed especially if it’s your first drone. You won’t want to stop flying it I’m sure!

i just ordered one and might return it. its all state parks are no fly zones. i like kittery. i do need no make another trip to maine. im in CT. wouldn't this area be called a state park?
Hey! I wouldn’t stress to much about finding places to fly. Plenty throughout New England especially here in Maine. Fort Foster is not a state park but I do keep up to date on park rules. Only thing they restrict right now are scuba diving without permit, alcohol, medal detecting and other such things. It’s a great place to fly the drone! Just don’t head towards the shipyard 😂

Thanks for your videos. I'm considering buying the Mini 2 SE. You really milked that battery :). I'm sure you know what you're doing, but I learned the hard way to be extra conservative and not to trust the remaining battery estimate. I thought I had more than enough juice left to return home, with my Mavic Air only 20-30 meters out there and still showing 20-25% remaining, when it dropped to 0 in a matter of seconds and the drone automatically "landed" in the water.

But you do bring up a good point. The battery is obviously the heart of the drone and needs to be checked routinely. I often keep an eye on the active voltage output in the DJI fly app making sure it never drops below a certain amount. So sorry to hear about that mavic air! That must have been so tough to have happen
I have definitely loved my mini 2 se. I have some backup batteries and usually bring home the drone around 30%
@@The-Drone-Guy Thank you for your response! I wish I had known better to check the active voltage output. Does that help identify a weakened battery, as was probably the case with mine, after about a year of use? What level indicates a problem?
Honestly, I was expecting the "Intelligent flight battery" to be a bit more intelligent :) and calibrate itself better. I had two extra batteries, but I didn't even realize there was a problem with that one until it was too late.
@@denitrov yes you can tap into the battery icon and it will tell you the voltage. Green indicates it’s at a healthy level and red means it’s either temperature sensitive (usually too cold) or at end of life. That is really weird to have happen to a year old battery. Storing them properly is also important. Avoiding big swings in temperature is a good thing to aim for. Hope this helps a little!
@@The-Drone-Guy Thank you, I'll remember that for my next drone :). I think I took good care of the aircraft and the batteries, but maybe there were periods of non-use when the batteries were not stored at the recommended charge levels. Oh well, it is a risky hobby (for the wallet, at least) :), no matter how careful you are. That's one reason I am looking into a cheaper drone currently.
i take so many pictures and videos with my mini drone but then have no idea what to do with them.
I’d say have fun editing with different styles. Try black and white, then HDR style, then maybe even try using some AI editing. You can make digital art with all of your images. And if you have a ton of video maybe there are montages you can put together of similar subjects. Enjoy and thanks for watching!

Hi there! So so glad you found my channel - the mini 2 Se is the best starter drone for beginners in my opinion.
I use cap cut on my phone editing for video or iMovie on my computer.
For my photos I use adobe lightroom/photoshop on my computer. But often times I make really great edits quickly on my phone with the snapseed app!

Hi there,Could u pls tell me whether I should buy the DJI mini 2 or mini 2 se,I am a beginner(I do know basic flying tho) but this will be my first DJI drone.I do know that the main difference is the camera but is 4K really usable practically in terms of storage or quality? And is there a major difference in repair costs between the two because it has a better camera and a led at the front if it matters? Pls tell me this I would really appreciate it!
Hi there! thanks so much for reaching out. I get this question a lot. Like you said the main difference is in the video quality. If you plan to crop down for social media you may want to consider the 4k video. However, as you can see with my channel, which is mostly made up of mini 2 se content, it hasn't impacted my ability to get some fun video worthy of sharing. I don't think you can go wrong with either drone to be honest!
