DJI Mini 2 SE - How I Shoot Vertical & Other Tips For Getting Great Shots!

- Hi Everyone!
I was able to get a sunrise flight under my belt this morning with the focus of discussing how I shoot with the DJI Mini 2 SE with the intention of sharing vertically. It really is so much easier than I would have thought and I am sure you will as well!
I also discuss some photo tips and editing techniques that I use and consider when flying a drone.

It really is! I have the Mavic 3 and other much more advanced drones for my business but this little thing is so much fun! And it travels easier than my DSLR

You have a setting in the app that gives you a vertical crop automaticly, it blurs out the sides so you dont have to look at your lines like you do here

Great video and helpful teaching & tips. I purchased a 2se with a broken gimbal mount for just $50, complete kit. But I’m also looking at buying a brand new mini-2 fly more outfit for just $280. Any reason to not go with the 2 over the 2se? I almost bought a slightly use 3 because it can shoot vertical and appears to have a sturdier gimbal, but it only came with 1 battery. I already have several mini 1-2 series batteries and accessories. I remember earlier video of yours you had an issue keeping your camera / gimbal level. How did you fix that? Thank You, Dave in PA.
Hey there thanks for tuning in! If you already have the accessories then it would probably be best to invest in the mini 2 se. Only difference is the 2se shoots 2.7k video and the mini 2 shoots 4k
I ended up having to send the drone in to be repaired. So far the new one has been working great. My suggestion is to be mindful of the wind and. It forcing the gimbal motor too much

Pls reply to this comment, I've been thinking about buying a dji mini se 2 and I'm wondering about two things, how can I take pictures vertically and in one Finnish online store I read in the additional information that the dji mini se 2 can be used with wifi. Does that mean I can also use mobile data?

Do you feel that you fly your mini 2 se or mini 3 more? And why did you not just go with the m3p?
I’d say I fly them about the same! Use them for different reasons. I also have a mavic 3 which is my business drone. My mini series are more for recreational flying
its a great drone considering its price!, is it a totally worth it drone for beginners?
Hey! I’d say it’s the perfect beginner drone - I do understand it is more than a lot can still afford. But like you said it’s the best amount of drone + camera you can get at $300 currently. Wish they had these years ago!
How do you reduce noise in videos and photos? My images always seem so full of noise 😢
First thing is make sure the photo and video settings are at the highest quality. For some reason the drones default to 1080 p for example. Even for the quick shots you have to manually change to 2.7k
Also I usually shoot with the AEB photo mode which takes 3 images a varying exposures. This helps me to get that hdr look without trying to do too much editing to one image. Hope this helps for now!
Can you help me understand the no-fly zones? I’ve wanted to get footage of those bridges but that whole area from the mouth of the Piscataqua to the General Sullivan Bridge shows up as restricted on the AutoPylot app. How do you get the approval to fly?
Hey! Sorry for the delay - are you part 107 certified? I typically request laaanc auth and rarely get declined. I usually know if there are TFR’s ahead of time. It hasn’t always been easy to fly in this area but as been better as FAA advances their tech
@@The-Drone-Guy I don’t have the license so I assumed that would be the first step. The app says the auto-approval isn’t available. Is that only because I haven’t registered in the DJI app and I’d be able to request authorization if I did? Or do you need to track down approval on paper or over the phone or something?
How do you post edit the photos?
I typically use adobe Lightroom - I plan to make a video specifically on the editing settings I like
