I love my Mini 2 but you definitely teach me a few more things! I'm super keen to try the vertigo effect next time I fly my drone! great video, keep up the good work!
What's new to me from this video: 1. Takeoff from hand 2. Gimbal things, control from hold screen or hold fn button + scroll gimbal dial on remote control 3. Turn off/on charging mode from rc to phone Nice video!
Learned lots, ordered a mini 2, arrived with a defective camera, sent back, waiting for a replacement...in the meantime learning patience as well as useful tips from your videos. Thanks Steve

Two years later and this still is a great video, just picked up a mini 2 about a week ago and I haven’t been able to put it down. Now that I’ve watched this, there’s something’s I gotta try out now! Thank you for a great video!
Great tips, thanks for this video. I've had this drone for about 2 or so months now, I primarily use for shooting real estate photos and videos and am super impressed by what it can do, especially how it handles high winds given its size but your tips are great and most of them I haven't seen on other videos, I love the selecting exposure tip. Cheers.

Thank you! Yeah, the "nudge" is a pretty neat trick although it stopped working with the DJI Mini 3 Pro. I guess DJI decided it was time to get rid of it? Too bad, I used it all the time. Cheers!
Wow, these were super useful tips! Just got my new Mini 2 and have been devouring videos about it, and this was one of the absolute best I've seen. Thanks Steve! 👌👍😄
I know I'm late to the party, but this is an excellent video. Very informative. And so many folks are irritating and that's not you. Well done. Appreciate you.
Great information as always. Just a small advice, when turning off the motors, always use the left stick down instead of the combination. From what I learned, this combination to turn the propellers off are only for emergency shutdown :) Another question, the Mini 2 only slides the gimbal up and down? The Air 2 can also move left and right, for those who don't know. Cheers mate, thanks for all the tips. I really hope your channel grows fast, you totally deserve it.
@@agent_ethan As I usually hand catch (P4A+), I'm used to doing the L-hand off movement. So I was just wondering what was different. Yesterday I had a 360° camera mounted below and landed on a custom platform. In that case, I used the dual-stick method since both hands were free.
@@agent_ethan I know this is 6 months later but the context of the emergency shutdown info from DJI is WHILE FLYING. Both methods do exactly the same thing and Steve's comment is related to shutting things down after landing.
I thought when you let go of the sticks on the remote the drone would hover in place. Is the pause button any different than that except for that it overrides return to home if it is on?
Correct. Flight Pause is different because it immediately stops flight regardless of what's happening - full throttle, quick shot, RTH, etc. So, the idea is, at least I think, in a panic or critical situation, you don't have to fumble around touch the correct part of the screen or perform a joystick action. Eyes on the drone, muscle memory kicks in and you hit flight pause and the drone stops. I think it's most useful for automated flight where I can watch the drone and keep my thumb hovered over flight pause for when my "dronie" QuickShot is heading right in to a tree. I believe touching either stick will stop a QuickShot too but I like the idea of drilling one action in my head for those times when I don't have time to think. Cheers!

Hey Steve, I recently bought a Mini 2. Thank you so much for this tutorial. Well done! (You have a new subscriber). Does this "nudge" thing also work with the Mavic Air 2 ?
Thanks Julio, I appreciate it. I have personally tested the nudge with the Spark, Mini 1 and Mini 2. I believe it will work with all DJI drones but I don't like say something like that in a video without testing it. Cheers!
I just received my Mini 2 SE and its raining and windy outside so I cant fly. I decided to watch this video and it helped me a lot. I can get started as soon as the shitty weather goes away, Thanks steve!
Thanks for the info. I have a mini 1. Are the sticks on the controller easier to operate on the mini 2? That is my biggest disappointment with the mini compared to my Phantom 4. The controls are stiff and very hard to control smoothly. It’s like trying to draw a circle with an Etch-a-Sketch. It’s almost impossible to smoothly turn while changing altitude or moving forward or back.
I went from the Spark to the Mini 1. I found that the Mini 1's controller was definitely not of the same quality. From the Mini 1 to the Mini 2, the quality of the controller and its controls have definitely been improved. It was one of the first things I noticed going from the M1 to M2, the smoothness of the new remote. Cheers!

I'm also a newbie and everyday get braver..today I allowed my baby to fly high enough to get some beautiful shots my jerky turns are getting better. Thank you for all the hints but I gotta know where you got that t shirt!!!
It's good you're taking it slow. I think a lot of folks rush in with their new toy and end up crashing or losing it. My wife bought me that shirt. It's a classic one from Icebreaker that she picked up on Amazon a few years back. Very difficult to find if you can find it at all. Cheers!
I love that background/wall color. Looks so much better then lots of YT videos I watch. Very easy and pleasant on the eyes. Is it Savage Seamless Background Paper? Great tips on the Mini2!
Oh, thanks. Yep, you guessed it, seamless paper. I have rolls from both Savage and Colorama. I'm not sure which one that particular roll was but yeah, I like that colour too! Cheers!
I love the mini and Mini 2 and flown for a long time now but never knew all these things about the mini 2. You are really kind to share all this info. Thinking I discovered all things about the mini 2, you really surprised me with the additional information you provided. I saved the video to watch after downloading and will make notes on many things you have mentioned for a more informed pilot. I am very thankful to you for all this, Ray C Florida. I was flying my Mavic 2 Pro one day and touched the screen to find out the camera can look sideways when in flight forward and not turning the drone. My friend had no idea so was pleased when I shared the info. The mini 2 loves to fly out to the Gulf on sunsets, but the Pro 2 Hasselblad is an incredible drone I will keep forever!!!!!!!! Thanks Steve. P.S. I want to high school in the mid 60's with a friend named Jimmy Coutts, How Interesting. Class of 1965 Cardinals.
Thanks for the kind words Ray. I am glad the video was helpful. That's funny about Jimmy Coutts. It's not a very popular surname so it's always interesting when it pops up. Happy, safe flying! Cheers!
Been flying with my new Mini 2 a few time. Lots to learn. You make it easy. I’ve saved your video and plan on referring back to it a few times. Great job. Thanks!!
I've just got mine as well, I've run out of the fly more package a rubber of times. I've learnt just today how to use the high speed fpv turning using both controls. I have built a little low altitude course for it. I'm flying the course in normal now at speed smoothly, next to have the confidence to fly long distance.

Great job. Thanks!!
Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching! Best of luck with your Mini 2, cheers!
I've just got mine as well, I've run out of the fly more package a rubber of times. I've learnt just today how to use the high speed fpv turning using both controls. I have built a little low altitude course for it. I'm flying the course in normal now at speed smoothly, next to have the confidence to fly long distance.
I learnt more in one video than watching 5 others, excellent thank you.
Awesome! Happy to hear it was helpful. Happy, safe flying - cheers!
Im lucky I came here before watching countless others... You answered every question I had under 8 minutes... WOW!
Oh, cool! Glad it was helpful. 👍
Nice info. Thanks SO much for doing this. I learned a few things for sure!!
Thanks for watching! Happy to hear you picked up a few new tricks. Cheers!
Its sick how many useful features they crammed in to this thing. even after watching multiple vids, still learned a fe new tricks. thanks man!
It's an amazing little drone for sure. Thanks for watching! Cheers!
