She was just smart. If you really listen to her explanation. You'd pick her keywords - target, lose relationships. She is in either sales/bd. She hit her target. She received her commission. While most opt to buy things, I believe Clara saved her commission. Smart move, difficult move but indeed well done!

Was expecting a breakdown of costs etc, wasn’t expecting a life story!

I love Singapore, but the size of a typical apartment there is depressing, although I understand the reason why they have to be so tiny. Coupled with high work pressure, competitiveness, and long work hours, Singapore is a dream to visit but a nightmare to live in.

She seems very financially savvy which more and more younger generation are - with more owning a condo as a single as their first homes.

Financially stable means that you are debt free. Not owing the banks. And also It doesn't mean that if you and your partner own a house each that you all are financially stable.

lol..... i could have afford this at 28 too... but i think she gave up alot on her social life in her early 20s to afford this. my money went to trays of shots at zouk jiak kim. NO RAGRETS THO. but she is a smart woman.

You have a lot more stories to tell and look back on, especially when you have those gatherings that don't come often! You're not wrong, she's not wrong.

She certainly would have made some sacrifices in terms of lifestyle to afford a condo at such young age. I think it’s a matter of wants v needs. In her case, this condo may be more a want than need too.

Heard that Singapore encourages the couple to buy the house more. The waiting period will be shorter. Does the single person also get a chance to apply for the HOB unit? How long is the wait process? 🤔

can tell that she is a very results oriented person and achieve what she wanted at a young age, that is the good side. personality seems to be the dominant/one-sided kind, that is the downside.

Is it actually that rare in SG to buy a private property?
that's actually a huge bargain compared to Hong Kong, for same amount of money you can only get a 180-250 sq ft apartment in the city, or 2 parking spaces lol

    • @LittlePanda888
      @LittlePanda888 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

I don't think it is rare.
It is just that it is not easy to afford a property at that age (below 30s), and it requires discipline and prudent financial management (unless you are already wealthy or have wealthy parents).
While property may not be as expensive as Hong Kong, saving enough for the downpayment and taking a 6 digit housing loan is not a simple commitment.

not many ppl in singapore in their 20s can afford a 250k downpayment by themselves lol

Misinformative. One doesn't just have enough money by 29 years old to own a private property. Doesn't say much about her job and the viewer has to infer on wtheck kinda job pays that much? Sounds more like a humblebrag of her strange interior-design decisions than a "how" video. Besides, "losing friends" to earn material goods just say a lot about one's character... Oops!

There are quite a number of jobs.
Lawyer, a successful insurance agent or property agent etc.
Regardless of profession, you still have to work crazy hard to earn that amount of money.

Totally agree, what she said. And I think women should be like her. Once you have your own home. Will force you to get a better quality guy to married in future. And if have a that house can rent out and the rental income can support to be a home mum. Won't miss out the child grow up. Don't need to be a working mum out, back home still need to take care of child, home and husband. Or even parent and in law. Very hard to be women this day. Especially don't have strong financial independence to support ourselves/ own family even after marriage.

She said it herself: she lost friends and sacrificed to meet her targets at work.
Well done she focused and succeeded. Nothing comes easy in life. Well done!
If she were to rent that place she could get at least 3K per month.
UPDATE*** I learnt that in Singapore if you buy a second property the government will punish you with a tax and for a 3rd property the tax will be even higher. I think this is really bad because the government should let people who can buy another property. Nothing is easy in life and if a person with a lot of effort can buy more properties the government shouldn’t punish this person by crippling him with more taxes.

sg is rly land-scarce so the govt has to put in some kind of policies to ensure new couples can get homes

    It’s easy for women since they don’t have 2 yrs of NS. That’s almost 60k x 2yrs = 120k savings more

dk where u get 60k from but that sounds like like total takehome salary rather than savings.. and u speak as if its easy for 31yo guys to have the same acheivement lmao. its not even about the gender

Not bad, this girl. Equal my achievement in owning a private property at age 29. But i didnt have to lose any relationship nor step on anyone to get it .
