  • When Joshua and Dina met in JC, they acknowledged that their different religions would drive a wedge between them romantically. Six years later, they reached a consensus and got married. How did the couple overcome the challenge of an interfaith relationship? Why is religious conversion such a taboo topic in Singapore?

      You should read up about Islam then you'd know it's the only last true Abrahamic Faith and a true monotheistic faith that accepts all prophets from Adam , till Mohammed(peace be upon them all ) up to the last revelation/testament of that which is the Quran .
      Don't spread hate if you don't know anything but only take things out of context .

      Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard. As to those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (Next), refuse to share their beds, (And last) beat them (lightly); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them Means (of annoyance): For Allah is Most High, great (above you all). I am happy for the couple that things work out but there is really no need to promote such marriage over social media - to each his own, the Muslims will be happy to watch, the Catholics not. Let's keep such private life private, especially in Singapore. So what is going to happen when a couple in a reverse situation also produces a TH-cam and start saying why she abandons the Muslim faith...?

  • @phoebeoapollonio9569

    I’m an unbeliever; agnostic atheist one can say. Buddhism is the best religion for an unbeliever if one would ever want to dabble into religious spirituality, but Hinduism is the most compatible with the New Age. I have read too many Islamic history and have read so many rebuttals that I’ll say “no comment” just to be safe and polite. But if there’s one religion that has had so many rigorous scientific examination (keywords: scientifically tested and examined) miracles and yet, the most incompatible to the modern life, it would be the Catholic religion. Now again, I’m not a Catholic believer, but that religion doesn’t fit into anyone’s lifestyle; the religion is demanding and has no grey area. It’s black and white, no compromise or in between. I’m not talking about the average Catholics of today, I’m talking about the Catholic religion at its core. Strangely, the Catholic miracles are continuous; it’s just that they’re not publicised in the media. One of the more recent fascination is regarding a Traditional Catholic nun, who happens to be Black and her body has been found to be incorrupt, despite the presence of water at some point and the bacterias. She never even been embalmed, let alone treated with any preservative. Her name is Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster. Now, despite the many miracles of the church, I would rather attribute everything to psychokinesis and quantum physics, although we still don’t understand everything. Nevertheless, for me, nothing comes close to the Catholic religion when it comes to supernatural phenomenons. Yes, I’m not talking about the miracles in the bible alone, as those are things written by ancient people; but supernatural phenomenons even in the modern times, many that have been investigated scientifically by non-Catholic doctors and researchers. No other religion comes close in the modern time. But of course, I think it’s psychokinesis and quantum physics- religious people simply refuse to accept that and they’ll say it is God who does this and that. So I always tell my friends, if they want to learn any religion and if they think there’s a God who created people and wants people to come and to him in heaven 🙄, try learning the Catholic religion. It is the only religion where their God still perform not-yet-scientifically-explainable miracles in the modern times. It’s a ridiculously difficult religion because if people really go into the rabbit hole of that religion, it’s actually very demanding with precise requirements and yeah… it’s inconvenient. But if possible, I will try telling them about what we know so far in the science of psychokinesis and all the scientific evidence that we have, along with some bit of quantum physics.

    hi, genuine question, i’ve been curious for this for a long time and it’s been unanswered for as long as i have, why is it always someone from another religion converting to islam, never have i ever hear a muslim converting to his/her partners religion, I’m just wondering why? other religion is open to it, why not be as open as well? his mom is kinda upset about his conversion but that’s about it tbh, but what if she converted instead? what will happen to her?

    • @Mandy-fg9jx
      @Mandy-fg9jx ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I think it is because at this part of the world, those who for whatever reason decide to leave the Muslim faith will be largely ostracized to the point they also cannot continue living in their own country anymore. Even the family members all will feel the pinch of the act - getting pressure from society etc. Read some stories before and on YT there are stories of such la. I personally know someone who now live in Europe as an atheist although in her identity card she is still Islam. If you are Malaysian, then the law involved makes it even more complicated la for you to leave the faith legally. Not impossible just harder and frown upon.
      Also if you are in Malaysia, there is no civil marriage option (correct me if I'm wrong). So if you fall for a Muslim, you have to convert to be together. But it can be a good thing if he/she really fell in love with the religion itself and not convert in name only. I know of friends who convert cause no choice but came to embrace the beauty of Islam. On the other hand, I also know of couples who lived like atheist (both husband+wife) - the conversion is just for legality.
      What this couple did is quite interesting though as the girl also tried to understand Catholicism.
      All the best to the couple, til Jannah. 💕

      A muslim commenting here! Since the people who are commenting don't understand. It's not about our community and our family being shocked or angry(of course that will happen). For most muslims, the reason is Islam is not just a religion it's a way of life. We literally live and breathe Islam. Everything from the moment we wake up, to eating, dressing, praying, and going to sleep revolves around our beautiful religion. Therefore, if you're a true believer you will know Islam is the truth and the only way of life. That's why we don't leave Islam. All acts of worship we do are for the sake of god. And eventually our ultimate goal is to go to paradise. We believe the straight path is Islam and your ticket to paradise. Tbh, I'm not a scholar. If you genuinely want to learn, go to your nearest islamic centre or mosque. Hope that helps :)
