My laptop keeps opening streamlabs on my monitor when I want it on my laptop & games on my laptop keep switching when I turn it off
Go to windows settings > Display > Select External Monitor > Select “Make this my main display” I can make a TH-cam short/video on how to do such if needed.
Will it overheat the laptop if you’re using an external gaming monitor?This is my most concern
Will it lower my fps if I connect my laptop to my monitor. I have a rog flow x13 and am just wondering since I have been having miscommunication on if it will improve or hurt my fps
It should improve your fps, unless the monitor is a higher resolution than the laptop screen.

Hi, I have the same laptop as you. I just want to ask if my laptop has a 120hz screen and i buy a monitor with like a 144hz/240hz refresh rate, will it apply to the monitor? or will it cap the refresh rate to 120hz bec its the refresh rate of the my nitro 5?
You can change the refresh rate of each individual within windows settings. Which means you can run your laptop screen at 120hz and your monitor at up to 240hz.

Check to make sure it is using an active signal. If not you will be capped to 1080p 60hz.
If my laptop monitor is 60hz with hdmi 2.0 port and my external monitor with 165hz has 1.4hdmi port
If i buy hdmi 2.0 cable and connect both will it show 165hz on the external from 60hz laptop
Broo I same have laptop with 60hz hdmi 2.0 and monitor with 165hz hdmi 1.4 and i can't do anythig because i have max 120hz and i don't know why lol

Though the external monitors max hz is 165hz but since im using hdmi would be 120hz 144hz and 240hz if your external monitor supports these refresh rates that is

I ordered for me a BenQ Mobiuz EX2710S 165hz freesync With HDMI 2.0 port for a very good price and i was wondering if my budget gaming laptop can run it with no problems my laptop is a acer nitro 5 with Intel Core i5 10300H 144Hz 16gb RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650. Im worried cause my lap doesnt support free sync or g sync,only has HDMI 2.0.and does the screen size affect the performance even if it is 1080p????... THANK you for answering
I connected my laptop to 144hz monitor using 4k 60hz usb c to dp cable and it flickers when I play what do I do?
