    Well done on spraying and recording at the same time👍 I tried to last week I gave up, saw a few of your videos and others , I bought the ultra max for little tasks to do, love it however just the ultra max uses a different size thread on tip guard 😭 so no extension pole for me until I get an adapter made up.

      Artie6937 he man. Yes the ultra max is different. Wjat ever is aluminium on the ultra is plastic on the max. They dont offer extensions for it as it has more risk of shock from long poles or may cause spark for flamable paints.

    Hi im thinking about getting one. I want it for uc doors mainly but is it worth using to cut all corners of the rooms going all white? Then roll tight. I house bash with brush and 15inch im getting bored of it and spraying the whole lot isnt practical. This looks the job but no vids or info on anyone using it the way i want and its alot of money if im buying new pumps instead of brushes. Cheers.

      Hey. You could do. Ive used it for rooms and woodwork. But dont know how long it would last doing that in the long run. For the money youd be better off buying one of the gxff (gx19) units or gx21 as it may be a couple $100 more but youve got a main unit made for that. You can cut in with a smaller tip size so very minimal over spray. Again you could use this as cordless and easy clean up. But youd be filling cups up. Depends if you factor the price of a pump into the price or say 5 houses

    Did you thin using the 208 tip? I used a 210 tip to spray Dulux quick dry u/c and found that it applied too much no matter the speed so was told by Graco to use a 208 but may need to thin thanks

      The ultra is just waterbased. The ultra max is for solvent and waterbased. It sprays great though and cleans easily with meths when you do clean it out

    Hi..Do you top coat the trim with an overlap onto the walls then mask off and spray the walls?
    If that's the way you do it do you see the overlap when finished?

    • @sprayaholic
      @sprayaholic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did find it occasionally. I would give all overspray on walls a quick sand with sander.
      But now i would mask the walls with brown paper too

      @@sprayaholic so after mist coat and trims fitted what order would you paint ceilings walls and trim?

    • @sprayaholic
      @sprayaholic  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dansmith1100 i would either mistcoat all walls and ceilings coming just short of woodwork. Then prime woodwork allowing to go on walls. Then finish woodwork. Mask off. Sand overspray slightly. Then if coloured walls and eveything is a spray finish. Id do walls. Allow to go on ceilings. Next day mask walls with polythene. Then spray ceilings.
      If rolling walls. Spray mist. Woodwork. Ceilings and roll walls

    would you say they are better than than the wagner xvlp, was looking to invest in a sprayer for trim etc

    • @sprayaholic
      @sprayaholic  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      MrShanenicholls hey. Well the xvlp is good. But too slow for me. I like hvlps also. #airless is fast and great coverage. The xvlp can have a nest head attaxhed and means practically zero over spray its just slow. Check out and google paintshack. Its a company who sell paint but also sell the whole wagner set up. Worth a look. Colin Bidwell is one of the main guys at paintshack if you call them hes full of knowledge and great to talk to and can advice you on it

    How long did it take to do all the masking vs brushing time?

    • @sprayaholic
      @sprayaholic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To be honest not alot in it. Its an oak floor so i would be covering the floor and taping skirtings to floor line anyway
      I use correx sheets as they stay down until jobs done. So no ceiling spray on floors. No sheets. Might have taken an hour to mask all up but you mask once.

    Do you spray the final coat on, what do you use for finishing coat

    • @sprayaholic
      @sprayaholic  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Grahame Hynes ye i did spray a finish coat. Used a satin finish waterbased.

    • @surfdude73gra
      @surfdude73gra 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How do you find the waterbased, all the lads who paint on my jobs won't use it. . Great videos, very informant. I fancy getting a graco for wardrobes I make but was considering the max, due to the fact waterbased gloss chips easy and its not solvent based, whats your opinion.

    • @sprayaholic
      @sprayaholic  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Grahame Hynes thanks. No id disagree. It doesnt chip easy and some of the gear is just as durable. It doesnt stink and it dries fast. The sheen isnt as high thouhh. I do 90% waterbased. Use tikkurila helmi 80 gloss or caparol pu gloss. So many better products than standard dulux or johnstones etc. I always use an adhesion primer first on old paint. Using waterbased gear is just abit different to oil.

    • @surfdude73gra
      @surfdude73gra 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The white stays white though. So in your opinion would the Graco Ultra be a good option for finishing the bespoke doors/units I make or the max, I tend to use some oils/waxes for hardwoods but have no issue hand applied. Thanks for the advice

    • @sprayaholic
      @sprayaholic  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Grahame Hynes yes white stays white. You could look at hvlp as an option. You can spray most thinhs with that including 2 pack gear. Very controlable. But can still be fast. Uses less paint and is fine finish. Alot of cabinet makers have hvlp set ups

      Never had an issue and know alot of people who have found them great. Like everything occasionally some are bad. But theyve worked well for us. The ultra was ment for wb and ultra max for oil. But most needed paint thinning prior to spraying
