    I love mine I’ve had it for three years now,
    I use if for cutting in & spraying doors on new build houses, I use an 18V battery with the bigger cups & have had to replace the pump twice in that time but if it continues to earn me £200 a day on price work then £200 plus for a new pump is totally worth it for me as it’s worth it’s weight in gold.
    Edit: I’ve only had to replace my pump twice because certain sites we work on we’re not allowed to use sprayers, the ones we are I’ve had to replace it twice but will continue to replace it as long as it keeps earning me dosh.

    Just been looking tonight about getting one,i bought one when they came out but had to sell it to raise some money to help some rescue dogs,, but def it will be worth getting one,, i would like to use it on kitchens and furniture as it looks much faster than hvlp turbines,, just not sure if to get the ultra or max, we dont use oil paint much at all but sods law if i dont get the max a job will come in for oil,, great video.

      this is the main reason i got it. Had a massive job come in with so many built in mdf areas. Had other jobs running with my main units and i didnt want to keep setting hvlp up. It was all oils so I thought for speed get one of these. If theres a chance you may use oils get the max. under 700quid now so again if you would use it more often buy a gxff or haha id be tempted for the little aldi sprayer for like 200quid. Im going to get one and see what its lke.

      Ive got 3 ultras and 1 max. Honestly i think alot miss use them. They arnt designed to spray houses, again where some people buy them and wonder why they break. Use it sparingly and its great pumps ment for around 200L. Take a look at some of my other ultra videos. Any issues just ask

      @@sprayaholic I've just been looking lol. I've been using a cheap HVLP for a while now but absolutely sick of thinning paint down to get it right, and then how slow it is. This looks a lot quicker. Just a shame there's no in-between as its like £520 just for the unit, probs have to buy some tips aswell for fine finish. Id buy a cheaper airless like a wagner or something however I'm only spraying small amounts at a time so a massive unit with a suction hose wouldn't really work if I'm only spraying 1-2 litres, thanks again.

      @@sprayaholic hello again mate, ordering it Friday. The company have said I can change the 2 tips included to the ones I want. What tips would you recommend for MDF? @@cmbespoke3699 ive not used the Morrells gear yet. But my standard ones are a 210 and 310.
      The first number times by 2 is the fam width on inches. So a 210 would give a 4 inch fan and the 10 is how big the hole is. So bigger the last 2 numbers the more paint comes out

  • @AlexKunstar

    I love the Graco handheld sprayers, I have both the corded and cordless unit. BUT I don't know how many more pumps I can justify buying. I initially killed my corded pump, purchased a replacement pump, was so happy I got the cordless version as well, now the pump in my cordless is dead and the 2nd pump for my corded one is on its last leg. I got multiple cups, filters, liners, the whole thing but every time I spray it feels like it's gonna break any minute(even if it's brand new). The pump needs to be 3-5x more durable than it is, and I've been babying them since I destroyed the first pump. I cannot keep them alive, and wish I would have invested all the money elsewhere... But when they are brand new they spray like a dream.. And when the dream ends the pumps 200bucks. Pump needs to last longer or cost 70bucks... The value isn't there for me like this...and yes I still love the extreme convenience when they work.

    • @sprayaholic
      @sprayaholic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dont you use along side a main unit? If i was spraying more than 3 cups id more than likely be settinh up my smaller sprayer such as the gxff (gx19) my original ultra has lasted well over the recommended length. I agree if you were buying the pumps at that rate you should be looking at something else... evem the cheap airless units have their uses, so long as youre using decent tips

    • @sprayaholic
      @sprayaholic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I factor parts costs into my jobs. So if you added something onto each job then by the time it failed you should have covered the repair cost. Something to consider if you dont already.

    • @AlexKunstar
      @AlexKunstar 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a Graco ultra 395 pc as my main rig, never had a single issue outside of repacking the pump once. I paint a lot of properties so of course the handhelds paid for themselves long before they die, it's just not a cost I'm willing to continually reinvest in til the pump lasts longer or becomes way cheaper. I don't feel I wasted the money on these sprayers by any means, I just don't find it to be worth as much as getting a gxff with the hopper and have practically problem free operation for years, and when there is a problem it's a cheaper fix. I almost feel obligated to keep buying triax pumps with what I've invested into the handhelds but at the end of the day I know they are on very, very, very borrowed time despite my best efforts to keep them alive.

    • @sprayaholic
      @sprayaholic  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AlexKunstar ye thats just my thoughts. I use my 390 on big jobs. Gxff for the woodwork if its alot and the handhelds in between or when i need a quick exit. Iv bought some second hand units over the years as like you say little goes wrong with them compared to costs of pumps for handhelds.
      Or like a 7.5m hose and hopper kit for the 395

    • @sprayaholic
      @sprayaholic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey its a noticeable difference in weight. But youd have to check the specs out for accuracy weight differences.
      Max tip is a .16 so 616 or 516. There isnt a lowest tip size. Probably like a 108 for spindles or something.
      What is it you're wanting to spray? Also where are you located?

    Hi, Thankyou for a very helpful review. I have just purchased the ultramax, just a quick question on the fflp tips, all the fflp tips come with a new seal or gasket or whatever they are called. Say changing from a fflp 410 tip to a new fflp 310 tip do i need to change the seal or are both the same size? Any help would be much appreciated, thankyou.

    • @sprayaholic
      @sprayaholic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thanks for watching. So long as you're using an fflp or LP tip you can use the same seat in the guard, like the ones that come in the packet, so doesnt matter if its a 618fflp or a 210fflp. Save the spare ones as you need to change them after a while. If you used the standard blue tips you would notice that the hole in the seat is larger and wont work very well with fflp or lp tips. Same with the blue tips and the fflp seat is wont work great.

    • @sprayaholic
      @sprayaholic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Is the pot squeezed enough so the air is out. If its upside down it means the paints covering the hole so it can go through. If its not squeezed enough it can leave a gap. I have often used it upside down to save sqeezing the pot anyway. I'll have a few more videos of it cominb soon

      @Lewis Powell yes it will work inside down with out squeezing.
      You need to add paint, open the cap and squeeze untill paint bubbles and pours out a little. Then flick the cap on, run in prime for like 3 seconds. See if it sprays. If not try squeezing more paint out the cap.and re prime

    Great to see your video. I brought Graco ultra a few weeks ago. Just tried a few times for about 15L water based paint. Seems that the gun has issues. The gun make sound when I press the trigger but no material is sprayed. I have followed the manual procedure to clean the machine everytime. Understood the pump have a life time but I dont believe the life is so short for only 15L. I dont know what mistake I have made or the defects of the delivered products. Would you please give me any hints that would make the machine out of work easily?

    • @sprayaholic
      @sprayaholic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey have you managed to fix it? Try putting water in the cup. Flip the machine upside down. Flick into prime and see if it circulates. Then flixk into spray. No need to press the cup.
      Sometimes paint dries on the inside and if it hasnt been cleaned in time can stop paint from flowing through.

      Ha i feel your pain. Youd have to thin it down abit as it accepts a tip of 516 or 616. Personally id buy the gx21 unit.
      But if it's purely for cordless then it would work but youd be filling the cup up alot and the pump would wear alot quicker than a normal unit. Yes im pretty sure you can use the batteries are they are compatible with ither 18v tools from the xr range.
