Thanks for the video. Plan to purchase and spray oil paints with Ultra Max. I understand you're supposed to use Ground / Earth wire(?). Have you a viseo on spraying oil paibts with Ultra Max? Cheers from Texas USA.
For cleaning, this is different than what Graco recommends: 1) Set to the 10 the highest setting, not the lowest. 2) Alternate between 15 prime and 5 seconds spray. From my experience, 2) is especially important. Impossible to get the gun fully clean in prime mode only.
Bro look how he’s explaining it as if he’s being held by gunpoint. They purposely want ur gun to break or dry out so u buy a new one. Had to buy another one since their repair cost is damn near as much as a new gun…..shady cunts I tell ya
concerning the monthly maintenance -- does this apply to the other units in the line like the truecoat 360 vsp? I am not sure I am ready to have to babysit this every month....It is a tool that I only need a few times a year ( which is what it is designed for). To have to remember to break it out, fill up a cup etc..... I don't know....I don't mind doing a good cleaning and proper storage but other than that worry that even with best of intentions life will happen then I will have a unit that does not work when I need it to.
Hi one question not sure if you can help me, i ve been using my gun for a while now. But when I clean it now water doesn't come out anymore in spray position. Any ideas what the reason for this could be?
Hi Graham, as Cam has mentioned above, the pump armour solution is simply for internal storage. It just ensures that the internal components of your pump don't get exposed to corrosive elements and dry out.
Hi Ian, I have spoken with Graco directly and they said that if it is an architectural xylene sealer then you should be fine to spray with the Graco Ultra Max. Hope this helps!
Hey Jim, thanks for the comment! We recommend using the thinner that the paint recommends. You can typically find this in the TDS of your chosen paint. If in doubt though methylated spirits typically works works. Hope this helps 🙌
Typically with that unit you want to get a little bit of gasoline ……. Not much just a little bit about a cup or so ……with a rag with gasoline on it just lightly wipe down the outside of the unit set the rag on the top of the unit and light it on fire ……. Then get in your car and go buy a graco unit
Hey Rene - sounds like there may be a clog in your outlet, or front valves! Try checking the outlet valves and front valves, instructions can be seen in the manual: cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1792/8225/files/GO_Manual_Graco_Ultra.pdf?1767649619953292279 Please see page 27 for the steps. Alternatively, if this does not work, your pump may be at the end of its life and need replacing. Feel free to ask any questions if you need a hand!
I don't remember reading that part about running it every month regardless of needs for maintenance. It makes sense though. I haven't used mine in several months and banged out a room real quick but after flushing it won't spray again. Checked the three outlet valves and they're good. I'm thinking perhaps I missed the maintenance routine part and it's seized up with whatever moisture was left while primed with the pump armour. Suppose the armour failed to protect or counter the mineralization in the leftover water from the flush out.
Hey V S. Thanks for commenting. Sorry to hear about your handheld. The regular maintenance routine is something we've picked up from servicing over the last couple of years, so you may not in the manual. If you're within 12 months of the purchase date, we'd recommend contacting the business that you purchased the unit from. It may be in warranty. All the best
Hey Ben, we have had this question a lot of times and the answer is always definitely not. There are some customers who do spray it just because how convenient it is, but they know that they will regularly be replacing the pumps. Hope this helps!
Very similar to Pump Armour, but most importantly does not consist of the anti-corrosive properties that Pump Armour does. To ensure you're complying with warranty as well, I'd stick to the product that's specifically manufactured to work with the sprayers!
Hi synthesaurus, thanks for your comment. Not sure how frequently this occurs for you, but since the filters only wedge on with friction it is not unusual for them to fall off the unit. They should stay on during use though.
I dont see why anyone would waste time pissing around with a faulty pump every now and then, when you can get a wagner flexii 3000 which will give probably the same finish for far less money
All depends on what works for you - plenty of happy applicators who can justify the life cycle of the Triax pump! As long as you're spraying, we're stoked for you 🫶🏼
Shit unit ,its so problematic , its great when it work but it doesnt work for long , it will start spluttering then you gotta clear it and go again , meanwhile you have just fucked whatever you were spraying .they should of designed it more user friendly . To make it work better it needs to be self priming and less steps to get it started .remember we are working in customers houses , we dont want a big line of paint going of the skirts or a door .
Than you, this was very helpful and appreciate you taking the time to share this!
Thanks for the kind words! Glad you got something out of it 🤝
Great video. Love the part about monthly cleaning to properly lubricate. 👍🏼

Hi, do you recommend this tool? or better with air?

Why didn’t you spray a little of the pump armour through the front nozzle to protect the surfaces in this area?
Its only meant for the internal workings , you don't need to put it through the nozzle

This helped. Thx. Great vid.
Thanks for the comment Rhett!
Nice!
Would the Graco Ultra Max be suitable for spraying solvent based ( xylene ) sealers ?? Great video BTW
Hi Ian, I have spoken with Graco directly and they said that if it is an architectural xylene sealer then you should be fine to spray with the Graco Ultra Max.

How much pump armour did you put in the flex liner with water
We pour in enough Pump Armour to sufficiently cover the strainer - it's approximately 100mL.
What would you clean the Ultra Max with if you were using a solvent / oil based paint? White Spirit?
Hey Jim, thanks for the comment! We recommend using the thinner that the paint recommends. You can typically find this in the TDS of your chosen paint. If in doubt though methylated spirits typically works works.

what is the difference between ultra max and tc pro plus
hi you said about put sone pump armor though every month or so do you have to do this aswell with bigger machines like wagner 350r?

If that doesn't work you need a new pump
Awesome video mate, nice and clear and straightforward.

Can the ultra max run Dulux A1 Roadmaster? It's an alkyd modified chlorinated rubber resin

China's largest spray machine manufacturer
I've heard people are just using antifreeze coolant that is used in cars as it is much cheaper and pretty much the same product thought's??

Is it normal for the filter to always fall out?

@@GOIndustrial thank you for your reply. I put some tape and it hold better.
I’ve got the Pant pro 2 .. the batteries died …not happy
Sorry to hear that! Please reach out if you're needing replacement batteries.
Can you just keep some pump armour in the cup and run the prime for 10sec or so every month?
Hi Jeff,
That is 100% fine at all as long as the cup is sealed - so vacuum cap clipped in place and thread tightened. 👍

Poor machine. Not quality as it said. Broken down at the first time use and results for water based oil was horrible

Weak, sensitive & expensive. Doesn't last $ 1,000 bye bye
