Saw the thumbnail and it took me a minute to register who it was... "Hey, that's G, and she looks different!" It suits you! Nice to change things up a bit sometimes, isn't it? That railway carriage is such a quirky, neat place to spend a few days away - I'd love somewhere like that. Hope you and Lucy have a great Christmas together!
I've stayed in a BR Mark 1 coach with my mum and dad when i was a kid and then later i stayed in a GW Toad van - both on abandoned branch lines in the West country. Both were super memorable and cosy. I was really into Subbuteo and played matches on the station platform with a black labrador. Love this video and love your new hairdo too. Happy Christmas everyone!
A vacation/holiday with you two seems eventful, but not in an overwhelming way, and I appreciate that about the two of you. A very happy Yule to the both of you!
wow i really enjoyed watching this that railway carriage looks really cool even with all the retro stuff inside looking perfectly restored to originality i must admit i do love seeing all the historic stuff & posters ect & the sea views looks amazing & Wales is a lovely country anyway brilliant work from both you & Lucy & Merry Christmas to you both
G get yourself onto Railholidays Cornwall site not only do you get to sleep in a railway carriage but trains are going passed you as well St Germans or Hayle the TPO at St Germans is stunning.
Absolutely beautiful! I know some of the cafes were closed, but I much prefer the coast and the sea in winter than summer. Love the hair (and the Dalek jumper)!😊
Happy Christmas to you and Lucy, thank you for all the interesting videos, I even caught a train myself this year after watching your travels + more of a bus and coach person myself!
Another Excellent Video from both of you, Have a wonderful Christmas and a Very happy New Year. Really look forward too your videos Looking forward to 2024. Kindest Regards too both of you.
Brilliant Video G! That photo of that Railway Station, want to say Swansea Victoria which is now Disused but even myself isn't 100% that it is Swansea Victoria, LSWR is London and South Western Railway but quite surprised they did sold a carriage to the Great Western Railway. The views are amazing and hope yourself and Lucy did had a great time. If there no Freightday video between now and Christmas.... Merry Christmas G and Lucy!
There is a place near Whitby where you can stay in an old BR MK3 sleeper .... It's pretty good. There are two coaches with wheels and bogies still in place.
What a great trip. I am glad Lucy joined you as in a previous Christmas video you stayed in a fantastic railway station come holiday cottage all on your own and all I could think was that must have been a lonely Christmas.
What a wonderful place to stay - and with such glorious views as well. We stayed in Langrannog a couple of years ago - just up the coast from Tresaith - fantastic part of the world. Merry Christmas to both you and Lucy 🎄
Mystery station, I'll have a couple of bob on Waterloo around 1870 (the LSWR London terminus), before the first expansion and then subsequent rebuilding.
I've never stayed in a static rail carriage only on moving ones! There's some of those carriages next to the East Coast Mainline north of York but no idea how you'd get there using public transport. There's some just south of Whitby too in Stainsacre which is served by the X93 Middlesbrough to Scarborough bus hourly or you can walk from Whitby which is only about 50 minutes.
This christmas video has been amazing G, and a merry christmas to you and Lucy. It's so awesome you managed to stay in a railway carriage, it's nice to see the posters and stuff inside it as well. And the area around it looks amazing. Walking in the dark though, it's so difficult to see anything lol. :)
Enjoyed that. I’ve got vague memories of staying in a railway carriage when l was toddler. Well l’ve seen photos from the holiday , but can’t remembered too much about it. This would have been the late 1950s. The carriage was very basic . The one you are staying in is very grand in comparison. At the time there was not that much caravan accommodation available in Wales after the war, but it was a holiday. A brief change from bomb damaged Merseyside . One memory that does stick with you was the sound of the steam trains passing nearby on a regular basis throughout the night. I think they must have been mail or milk trains ? Hope you both have a great Christmas and wishing you continued success with your TH-cam venture. Ps, can’t believe you actually get a negative response from some people to what you are doing. There are some very odd characters out there😅
Hi G, loved this "holiday" vlog. Stunning imagery. And what jolly music. Brilliant G! The photograph in the loo that you 'n' Lucy did not know the location of. It is rather apt. You were staying in a LSWR coach. The photograph is of the LSWR London terminal Waterloo station in the early 1900s. Impossible to recreate the location as Waterloo has changed several times since then. Well your vlog was so jolly and enjoyable, I am going to watch it again. Thanks, Ray x
That is such an awesome place! You can’t beat that view and the nostalgia of staying in a vintage railroad sleeper. I’m so glad you and Lucy got to enjoy that experience! 😎🎄🎉
That's a fantastic place to stay everything u could ask for and brilliant sea views too, wonderful walks in a beautiful area know that area too stayed just up the coast near Aberystwyth. Nice little place Aberporth is to and that great waterfall coming over the cliff at tresaith glad you both had a fantastic time there G, Merry Christmas to u both 🎄⛄🎅👍🤗
What a beautiful place to stay and in a sleeping train car. The views are awesome, the carriage with all it offers from time gone by. Blessings too you both and Happy Yule or Christmas!!🙂🚂🚃🚃🚃🎄🎄🎉🎁❤
Love the new look also a great video a different way to spend time together the carriage looks great and the scenery amazing you looked to have had a great time together well done 👍👍✅✅
Happy Christmas to both of you - and I love the new hair - spending Christmas in Rural West Wales is wonderful, the next best thing to heaven, even in winter, which being Irish myself, I love the lovely and friendly Welsh people - Fishguard & Pembroke to Rosslare is the gateway to Wicklow, Waterford, Tipperary, Cork, and Kerry (I’ve been) although when I go home on SailRail from Manchester, I usually go home via Chester, Crewe or Lladnuo to Holyhead and on the ferry to Dublin - it’s a delightful idea to be spending time in a restored/converted Edwardian era railway carriage 🇮🇪☘️🏴❤️
I must say I like the hair colour. Makes a change from having black hair. Loved the video too. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and Lucy from me
I thought Bristol TM at first, given the carriage's GWR heritage. That also has a curve and a small platform (platform 2, no longer used). Plus those old canopies are reminiscient of the original Brunel train shed, but then again Euston also had a roof like that. I did a quick Google for "old photo train station horse cart" but nothing came up! No doubt someone will come along soon with the right answer...
Hi G and Lucy, The price of admission was worth it just for the views, spectacular!!! For one minute G, I thought I'd clicked on the wrong channel I hardly recognised you with your new hair colour, which really suits you by the way. Hope you two have a Merry Christmas, looking forward to the next one, stay safe.
I would love that too, to stay in a railway carriage. In the case of yours I noticed a new hair style. I also wish the two of you a happy Christmas and a happy new year.

Looks very cosy, it's on my bucket list.
I stayed a railway station for four nights that was my little oasis of calm, it's what I needed.
I've stayed in a BR Mark 1 coach with my mum and dad when i was a kid and then later i stayed in a GW Toad van - both on abandoned branch lines in the West country. I love it too!
Wow, it’s lovely. Great video, an you both looked great an happy. A lovely Christmas video.
Thanks a lot!
It crossed my mind that the train station in the photo might be York, but It's got a curved roof, not a pointy one.

I think that station is Bristol Temple Meads, which would be on theme if that carriage was previously on the LSWR.

Pretty sure that poster of the station is Newcastle. The curve and the shorter platform on the right hand side gives it away.
