Bumby killed Alice's family. He was obsessed with Lizzie (Alice's sister) and snuck into her house and raped her. When the queen said "That noise wasn't Lizzie talking in her sleep" she meant when Bumby was raping her. To cover up the crime, Bumby started the fire. He also kept Lizzie's bedroom key, which is the Chapter 6 key.
That line really had me shook ngl
That line really had me shook ngl
Why did he do all that??
@@elongatedmanforever1252because he’s a monster
@@majimagaming934
He seems pretty stupid &
Cringe in my opinion.
i simply love that damn cat! seriously, did you heard what he said at the end? prrrrrrrrrfect!
BEST ENDING EVER! I just love how she like turns around and bumby is all like 'o my god' because like he sees it (the real alice) Then I just loved watching the prick get kicked in front of the train (GREAT TIMING)
Fyarae not kicked but pushed
I love the irony of Bumby trying to ruin Alice's mind with the Train and getting pushed in front of one himself
Fyarae not kicked but pushed
That was so lame how
He died.
Looks like he just...
*puts on glasses*
Caught a train.
YEEEEEAH!
Nice one! 😆
Good job
Good job
I love the ending of this game! There are 4 main ways to interpret it according to the AM's Alice Wiki, but I interpreted it a bit differently. I think Alice's control over Wonderland means she can now open the link to it in reality & let someone else see it at her will. So Bumby did see her as THE Alice, b/c I don't think he'd tremble in fear from just her glare of rage. Afterwords, she can now blend both worlds in her perspective into a balanced match between both worlds. That's my view ^_^
*Sure, I think so as well cause there's even a segment of gameplay where you can walk as Bloody Alice with her blue-white clothes covered in blood in her real world, if I'm correct.*
Bumby is just a cringe villain
Lazy in fact.
Your theory is correct. Alice mistook Bumby as a Centaur, because of the glowing eyes and the shadows. It imprinted into her mind and that's how she justified later what she saw that night.
Bumby really did all that
Or is she imagining him
Doing all that & its weird
How bumby got into
Their house & nobody
Heard anything??
it makes no sense.
That scene when Alice woke up in the asylum after killing the dollmaker. 4:30
Did that mean she mentally woke up? Or what exactly?
I took it as she let herself go from reality and is permanently in Wonderland to the point that the two worlds have bled into one another. Cheshire at the end says "we can't go home again", which could suggest she's stuck in whatever state she's in while in Wonderland. I believe her waking up in the asylum suggests that that's where her body is being kept (in an asylum), but her mind is not.
Actually it's a shock reaction the same as "My God" which Alice used "My Lizzie" instead. The Queen is actually young Alice as said so by the artbook and Mcgee himself.
Yea! We've all got a little Alice inside of us all!
Well I may have done too far (since it was from my frustrations) but I thought that Mcgee and the game (actually if you payed attention to the game very carefully enough) made it actually quite clear that the Queen is Alice's Psyche which in the first game she was Alice's self-guilt and the second game she represents Alice's childhood.
You forgot that centaurs also symbollized his lust, against Lizzie. He thinks that Lizzie is a tsundere and her mocks is actually a yes, that psycho...
"There are no centaurs in Oxford" -Red Queen
That ending where she changed outfit, I think she embraced it and became courageous.
Madness and Destruction. Oh Red Queen, how I love your craziness. ;)
Thank heavens( no pun intended) that Alice has finally healed from her trauma since the Fire. I was indeed worried because McGee's series had a wiki and it had several interpretations of the ending, some of them pretty tragic and even sinister.
Bye bye, Bumby... Although, I can't say we'll miss you much! >:D
Actually, this IS a sequel. The first one is American McGee's Alice. Look it up. But you're right. The saga MUST continue!
Meh its a mid sequel imo.
I always thought she was the embodiment of Alice's ignorance to the abuse of the children and her sister, which explains the child body. Either way in-game it's perfectly understandable why she'd be seen as Lizzie, because it's not all that obvious and a lot of it hints to it being her even though the book blatantly says otherwise. I thought it was Lizzie until I saw the art. No need to be a jerk and go calling people "ignorant" just because they haven't seen all the memorabilia.
What I find funny is that the thing( train) that was destroying wonderland(also Alice) was the one thing that killed the doc in the end.
This game is pure amazing sauce on a gold plate being eaten with silver spoons and with a nice cup of tea.
Alice is by far on of my favorite video game characters! She is by far the most unbreakable and relentless ones I've ever met, and the strongest after dealing with everything she's been through in life. I hope she's in a third game!
This is my fav cut scene/cinematic. (: I love the cheshire cat saying what he says because it does hint to a possible third Alice. :D

THIS. IS. WONDERLAAAAAAAND!
Alright, just to start a debate. American Mcgee's Alice, or Madness Returns?
Personally I like MR because the gameplay is simply fantastic. However, American Mcgee's was just sooooo CREEEEPYYY.
I love watching these clips as I watch them like a movie too. I really don't see why they couldn't make a movie out of this. >.< Would be great!~ Oh, well, just watching the clips from the game is still great.
Thank you so much for uploading these! =D
Well another thing, Victorians spoke rather weird or rather poetic/melodramatic/sophisticated back in those times which may not make sense to modern ears. Although this might be a stereotype of course it was a different time back then.
My issue is the characters are
Mostly 1-note & I definitely think
Bumby is the worst part of them.
Well Bumby did always have a thing for trains ^.^
According to Mcgee from the forums "Londerland is a visual and symbolic representation of Alice's merging of the psychological and real world. In the first game Alice overcame her internal demons to master her mental space."
I knew it was Dr. Bumby all along.
5:41 Now that's what I call an ironic death!
@RashekeeG1 No. I noticed it as well. The Alice in the game is so cynical of Hatter and some of the others, that at times she doesn't seem to have ever liked them. I think that look of guilt was her realizing that they were her friends, and it was her madness that warped them. Plus, even in their warped minds, they didn't forget that they did care about her and were hurt by it ("I tried to forget what you did, but I can't"). Afterwards, I think she'll be more kind to everyone. :)
They left it open for another, Puurrrrrrfectly acceptable
love the way she killed him
I watch all your clips like a movie. Thanks for uploading!
@thegr8estone
ABSOLUTELY!!! They better make another one. Because cheshire said: 'Is safe in memory...FOR NOW.'
this does explain the blood on her dress, it was his all the time
Oh, look. A Boss Fight. I never thought I'd see the day. >_
Alice doesn't actually call her Lizzie, it's a shock reaction.
@TonksRules
I must agree, when I was in the queen's castle I tough the reaper thing was quite freaky... but that dollmaker is just.... epic freaky.
That game ending made me get OCD of what happens
I guess that may be linked to the Greek myth about the Centuars getting drunk and carrying off the bride during a wedding. (The part animal, part human morphology has been used as a metaphor for the struggle against the more basic, animalistic desires. Yes, such as lust.)
long hair alice reminds me of alessa from silent hill for some reason.....
now hatter, mouse and rabbit are back and normal tea drunkers?
I've wondered too D: I think it was featured in the iPhone/iPad app during the A Dark Dream Chapter, but I never actually found the song "/
@MNHStudios 4:27-4:39 what was that suppose to mean?
I think the Looking Glass Line was the "Prototype" for the train of thought that Bumby put into her head during her therapy sessions until Bumby disproved of it and then the Infernal Train was created....
@Iostars I agree with you. I felt so many gaps while playing, and I thought that they could've done so much better with the gameplay. It's a wonderful setup for sure, but the execution was a bit rushed.
Red Queen told her the whole point!! shes really the best character too in the game!!
@TheMarvelousDC so the key is the symbol of a centuar?
Actually to clarify, it's a An exclamation of shock the same as "My God" which she uses "My Lizzie" instead.
If there ever happens to be a movie I will watch it!
I'm so sad... This game has some truly great potentials: powerful voice acting; potent writing; an intriguing, non cookie-cutter, mindf**k story (highly surprising for a hack and slash); immersive atmosphere and art design; and IMO one of the most climactic build-up for final boss fight ever. The ending is also terrifically done. All these potentials were almost wasted due to rushed release and lack of evolving gameplay. Here's hoping we'll get to see Alice 3 in the future.
For now....i'm always thinking of a sequel coming out...i can feel it.
question! what console is this on?
@bpsauce2 O.O Really? :) When I told my friends this, they looked at me strange until I elaborated and then they understood it. They say my interpretation's really unique, which is good. I'm glad to see they aren't the only ones who like it. Thank you, glad I could make you see it in a different light. :)
Fantastic ! This video game is so good !
5:38
Exacting revenge...LIKE A BOSS
It was a bad scene.
it was not bad but rather simple she pushes him casually to get hit by the train so I laughed hard at that
I would have to say that the Dollmaker may be one of the most gruesome looking bosses of all time....I've watched tons of horror games even and I can't think of a worse one....
Hes not a good villain
Though.
@@elongatedmanforever1252 I'm curious...what makes you say that? I haven't watched the game in a very long time...but I only remember loving the game. Don't remember anything wrong with him as a villain...
@@TonksRules
I have great dislike of him
Because he comes off
as 1-note Caricature made
To be a political talking points
about saying "people with
Power mistreating people
is bad" it's not subtle at all
& It's also lazy & predictable
Everyone knows that. it feels
Corny how he acts like a cartoon
Supervillain who does stuff cause
"Money" or he's a trafficker it
makes his character feel shallow
& Just bad just because &
That's not what makes a
Villain good, bumby barely
even Shows up in the game
& it's so on the nose that
He's the bad guy & he
Does all these convoluted
Nonsense like burn Alice's
House with Alice's family
inside & put Alice in a
Asylum & then Alice just
Kills him easily as he bumbles
Around looking stupid & Laughing Cartoonish it's terrible writing
at best.
" In the second game she uses that power to defeat a real-world threat to her physical and mental self. In effect, by the end of Madness Returns, Alice has become a sort of "super hero" - able to blur the boundary between imagination and reality. This sort of thematic concept is present in a lot of hero tales. And it's echoed in the alchemy symbols found throughout the game."
Hmm if Im not mistaken the reason why that 'doctor' see alice in her wonderland uniform its because of her mass hysteria, I remember a case in the real world that someone scream in pain and agonizing so deep, so hard, that people around him (or was it her) feel the pain she/he feeling, after some check up the doctor didn't find anything wrong with them, its like the pain were all in their mind but it doesnt really exist....truly an awesome and yet scary thing..
SEQUEL!!!!!!!!!!!!
or naw
Well there's a proposal about a third game called Alice: Asylum. It's a prequel of both games and it's estimate to release in 2021.
Check the creator's channel in youtube.
or naw
What does the Dollmaker say at 3:56? I am your sham?
Because what you are looking at is the door for Alice's bedroom, from inside Alice's bedroom....Look at that scene a couple of times untill you realize that. X)
I do know that the very first thing she's going to after A:MR she's going to return to Houndsitch Orphanage to dig up whatever secrets Bumby has in there (like going through casebooks/diaries/notes/etc whatever Bumby has written and maybe even search the entire building even the basement to see any further secrets...) which might lead to our next plot...
@MissyBooHentai, No if u read the Wiki for this, this is Londerland where Wonderland and London mixed in her mind, mostly likely I think this is were Alice escapes Reality with wonderland but is still in reality. Its confusing to explain really
@demyxiv
Well actually according to Mcgee Alice hasn't snapped and Londerland is supposed to represent the optistimic future she has ahead of her which she can now blend Wonderland with the real world.
No it was a shock remark like "My God" which Alice used "My Lizzie" instead. The Queen is Young Alice.
What dose the Dollmaker say before you battle him... it's sounds like " I'm in your Satch, or snach" or " I'm in your stand." Help?
@zonilo1 I'm pretty sure there is a good ending (where she leaves the asylum, and the other with her rocking back and forth in fear).
He actually says "Hide in your Sham"
The ending should be more satisfying. We players should feel the push he deserves instead of just watching that push.
The final boss should've been like timed or something, a bad ending kind of way (like the original)
1:37 poor hatter I know how he feels
I swear at the end she left the station and ended up in the Mania half of the Shivering Isles.
wait, so is the queen of hearts Elizabeth, Alices sister?
theres going to be a third. I cant wait
My Lizze ! Queen Of Heart is Lizze Redell
Ah, Alice… can’t go home again, it’s no surprise really, only a very few find the way, and most of them don’t recognize it when they do. Delusions, too, die hard, only the savage regard pain as the measure of worth. Forgetting pain is convenient, remembering it, agonizing. But recovering the truth is worth the suffering, and our wonderland, though damaged, is safe in memory… for now.
yay!
want the music that plays with hatters story :(
There was originally a 4th confrontation at Moorgate station after the Queen cutscene which confirmed that Lizzie was raped and murdered by Bumby before burning the house down as addressed by Alice herself.
@LagmonX
There was actually cut dialogue (a 4rth confrontation with Bumby at the station after the Red Queen sequence) that actually confirms that Bumby actually raped Lizzie as addressed by Alice herself
Soooo what happen to her in the end? Did Alice stay in her WonderLand forever?
@LucasFFXI
It's Young Alice.
Yes I know but when you posted it, it was not funded yet which it now it is.
I think there should have been a extra fight after the Dollmaker where you fight Bumby's Centaur form at the Jabberwock's lair where Alice's house was at in the first game to put that memory to rest and finally free from her self-guilt/pity. I think that would have been a better final boss fight...
I'm not sure I get the ending? what is with this londerland?
You shouldn't rely on wikis too much. Yep it leaves room for a Alice 3 since Alice has now moved on and put her tragic past behind her (although I do have a feeling she'll very most likely return to Oxford for memories sake) which she now has a new chapter of her life. Although I'm not so sure what's next out there that threatens her is uncertain.
I actually mean that Mcgee actually said that the Queen has no connection to Lizzie.
deleted dialogue? i think it implies it very well on the official anyway.. where can i see this if it exists? the deleted dialogue i mean.
Hell yes
Then what do you think we should do? TRY to stop this, or continue ignoring it even though it continues to happen with NO ONE trying to solve this problem at all.
2 weeks, aka when i posted, is not a long time ago, and when i had posted, it was not funded
At 0:13 I thought she was imagining him! o.o
You know, as angry as the queen always is, she's kinda wise in her own way.
I know i may seem ignorant but, can someone explain me the "centaurs in oxford" thing I really don't get it, is it a reference to the other game or something ? ._.
It's rather vice versa which shows most people don't pay close attention to things or read the developers words like Mcgee.
Alice, is a badass :D
I think another fitting thing that Alice could have said is "You've used and abused me but you will not Dispose me!"
wait I dont get the end.....is she like trapped in wonderland now? what's with the "transformation" from london-alice to wonderland-alice? and why did he kill her sister?
