    Im short to my friend and i like short bows to my draw about 26

    I'm pretty sure the super mags are a 28" draw length. 31" is a bit excessive, of course it sacks and has hand shock.

      Sig another tuber ,commented he's ok to 29.5 inch draw .
      He didn't comment on stacking .
      I have seen this bow pulled to 30 ish by my friend . It pinched his big fingers though .
      Now ,I don't know what affects shooting a short bow like this at longer than 28 draw consistently would be .
      It would be more stress ,an assumption would be shorter life span ???
      Maybe???
      It would be an interesting experiment ,but I'm guessing a very long term one .
      it would have to be a mechanical one since I am not able to draw 31 .
      Thks for comment .
      It's got me thinking if it's possible for a bow to have a max shot count for a life span metric .
      No idea how to test that and be repeated and in a shorter test time than ???? .
      Lol where are the myth busters when you need them ?

      @@kmarchery Yeah I own a Bear 48" super mag. 55# at 28 draw. A 31 "inch draw would stress the limbs, it would most likely stack pretty bad because the bow was never intended for a 31" draw and it would pinch the finger in a traditional 3 finger draw. Because of the extreme string angle. I have a 27.5 inch draw, and I draw with three and drop the top finger upon full draw, then release. I love this little bow.

    I love mine I think it shoots fantastic, I’m a 29 1/2 inch drawl and I don’t seem to have any trouble with finger pinch or as they would say stack. But yes you are correct they could shoot it thumb draw or Slavic draw just buy it in a left-hander if they’re right handed and still shoot of the shelf.

      @kmarchery  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You must have thinner fingers .
      As I mentioned in video I have a friend who cannot draw very far before the string angle starts pinching him .
      And releasing is fouled by thst pinching . It's actually funny to watch .
      He thinks the bow looks good
      Hates trying to shoot it .

    I'm 6'5" and I actually like shorter bows. My draw length is only 27" due to injuries, but even if my draw length was 31" I just like the shorter compact bow anywhere between 48" - 56". Nice bow you have there - God bless.

    I draw 29.5 on my three Supermags, with no issues. Great hunting bows! When Bear brought these out in the mid 60's, they were advertised as having an unlimited draw length.

    • @kmarchery
      @kmarchery  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I doubt "unlimited"
      Only cause . 😱.
      They are great bows .
      I will never get it that far while shooting. Just so far my arms will go being short 🤣.
      By one buddy his draw is 30ish
      He can pull it fine . No worries about the bow itself.
      He just gets his fingers pinched
      When he does .
      Very large hands . Lol 🖐️.
      So his release is fouled .
      He has found a 56 inch bow that works well for him .

    Couple of thoughts.... The guy has a 31 inch draw, that doesn't mean the bow is crap, it may just not suit him. I know some people who have drawn that bow over 30 inches and did not have any problems with it. Next thought, was he shooting Mediterranean style, or apache? Third thought, what weight was Mr tanner trying to draw? When shooting a short bow and changing to one draw weight will seem more pronounced due to the string angle. Sounds weird, but it actually can affect how the draw weight feels. What he dealt with may not be the same for every person even if taller.
    I personally shoot a Kodiak mag, and am a rather short 6 feet tall(I may have shrunk slightly after my auto accident and with age, but still not a tiny human). I have several bows, the 52 inch, a couple of 58's, a 60, a 63 and a half, and another 52 inch mag on the way.
    You don't have to give up on a shorter bow just because you are bigger or have a longer than average draw length, just find one that works right for you.

    • @kmarchery
      @kmarchery  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol thks for your thoughts .
      And I don't know a lot of the answers regarding mr tanner .
      This critique was valid cause shorter bows do have more hand shock .
      And also tend to stack more ( it's as you say, all relative with multiple variables and individual shooter being one of those variables )
      As a general rule of thumb .
      Some styles more than others .
      For me the super mag 48 is great fit .
      You are not the only 6 ish foot person who loves the shorter bows .
      I've met a few . And I've met a few like my friend with hands closer to baseball mitts who would love to try
      Them but he can't get past the string pinch 🤣.
      My philosophy has become more and more influenced by the reality
      That we individual humans are each distinctly unique .
      Despite any and all potential commonalities we can share with others . It's still just us with ,in this case the bow that we like or don't like .
      As a shooter I have at best ,average skills ,but I just enjoy letting that string go .
      It's my brain going ahhhhh that's nice .
      Keep having fun n thks so much for adding some more good points .

      PS- for your friends suffering pinch, if they have not try and get them to give 3 under shooting a try. It cuts down on string pinch a lot.
