Awesome, this is the only other Bear recurve making video I've seen other than the one made by Bear in the mid 70's.

I bought a Bear 55 pound pull grizzly when I was 21 years old! I am 75 years old now and I still use this same bow. I’ve killed a lot of game with it over the years. It is a left hand model, I use no sights or other aids and can still put 8 out of 10 arrows in a 4 inch circle at 30 yds. I think the archery industry was ruined with the compound era. If you want to really be called a archer do it naturally. Fred bear was the real pioneer of this sport. The only problem is finding the port oxford cedar shafts and real turkey fletching for making arrows as I don’t use fiberglass arrows. Good shooting....

I actually worked in that factory making bows and you'll be surprised on how much of the bow is hand made. Yes machines are used but they can't function with out guidance. A completely hand made bow would never meet production or selling standards. Each bow goes through about ten different hands before released. We threw away tons of bows that were fine to the regular eyes but just didnt meet the bear archery standards.

i got a fred bear bow about 10 years ago and was shocked the riser shelf was 3/4 at front and 1/2 in. at back. crooked angle impossible to shoot and i realized it could never have been inspected by an archer. i sent it back and did not get a replacement.

There is a lot of hands on work to creating a recurve bow before and after the template cuts the basic shape of the handle section. Many of the machines are guided by hands. Why not use technology to cut to the damn chase! YES handmade..mostly.

The LIMB TIPS newer bear grizzly recurves are made to fail, buy a super grizzly or a good vintage Grizzly recurve.

Nice looking trad bows but way overpriced to performance to say something like a Samick sage which is way cheaper...
