Bear Grizzly was my first adult bow. I got it for Christmas in 1977 I was in 7th grade. Shot it uncountable amount of times over the years until it got warped,probably from not knowing about a stringer. I still shoot instinctive with my favorite bow which is a Sky Trophy Longbow..had since 1993. I did get a new Tamahawk Bow from 3 Rivers. Nice bow, just haven't shot it enough to adapt to a lighter poundage. Your video made me dig out some old pictures of bowkills from my ol Grizzly. Thanks man! Numerous bows in-between those two.

Thanks for that comparison. I love Bear Archery products also. I wish I still had my Whitetail Hunter. I bought the WH in 1993 from Bob's Archery in Denver, Co. It was a great bow. I would love to have the Super Grizzly
Dacron gives you two things : a bow and a guitar . Isn't that great ? Some use fastflight on selfbow . The only thing it can do is to "saw" the limb at the tip but if the tip is reingorced with cowhorn, antler there is no adverse effect so I would use fastflight on the Grizzly without fear of breaking the limbs but that's me .
I have a 50# Grizzly. It’s a two tone bow. The riser is green and black split down the middle. Also the point of the limbs tips aren’t reinforced with fiber glass. It’s got wood in place of the fiber glass. Also the tips of the limbs aren’t pointed like your bow. They’re flat. Maybe it’s an older bow? I’m not sure. I bought it on eBay and I’m extremely happy with my purchase. The limbs are slightly twisted so I have to fix that. Any suggestions how?
I went to Merlin who set up both for me to try back-to-back, both great bows. Shot better groups with the Super Grizzly, just. Great bows and a great place to try before you buy.
5 years ago I Had purchased one first time i strung it the bottom limb failed at the meeting point of the riser sent it back they sent me another one and again had a limb fail top one that time where the limb meets the riser when i strung the bow sent that one back as well asked for my money back and sent out for a cheap black hunter supprisingly that bow is still shooting
Seems like you’d be able to holder a longer stick more stable than a short one. Hunting with a 62” is hard. Especially in western South Dakota Do you have a recommendation for a light take down? The PSE Nighthawk is a dog
Most people who draw 31 on a compound can comfortably shoot as much as 2 inches shorter draw with recurves..my draw for compound is 2 inches more than recurve becoz i anchor differently.
I'm using a d97 Flemish twist for my grizzly? Is my bow in trouble? Just bought both of them a couple weeks ago please if anyone sees this let me know. Scared to go back because this string is fantastic
If you are using d97 on a grizzly... 🛑 Stop immediately and change to a Dacron..or the d97 will abrade the limb tips and quickly ruin the bow.😢. Ok for the super grizzly.
@@gfreeman9843 it's been a journey to say the least...took about 4 months to understand it but it's blessed me with 6 rabbits so far. Turkey season begins in my state next weekend. . that will determine if we can snag what we came for. Wishing you the best and all of the luck in your adventures too my friend.

Found my #45 Grizzly at a thrift store, early 70s vintage. Cleaned her up and twisted a new string, shoots great.
