Enjoyed this series regarding the Bear Super Mag. I had the opportunity to use a Grayling bow a couple of times that a coworker had purchased. My thoughts on the bow was I did not get use to the grip when compared to my 64 Bear Kodiak, 69 Tigercat and my 70 Grizzly. Even with a bow stringer it was a little difficult to string the bow. It was my coworkers first bow that he had planned for hunting and I thought he should have selected a lighter draw weight and a longer bow. I used my last set of string silencers of the type that you had installed. Thank you for posting the review.
I have done a solo review for the Kodiak Mag please check my past videos. I will be doing a comparison video between the Kodiak mag and the Super Mag this weekend. Thanks for watching
Thanks for an objective review. SO much BS out there about this bow. Well done Sir!! I own several Supermag's (vintage Grayling and Gainesville built), absolutely love them and I'm drawing 29.5" on a good day. What a great hunting or backyard bow! Very light and handy. As far as draw weight, 35lbs, 40lbs or even 45lbs on a Supermag is probably more than heavy enough for deer, hogs and small game for your average man. 50lbs and it starts to get hard to anchor fast for most people, especially on a cold morning in a tree stand with old joints. I can't imagine needing 55# to 60# unless I was hunting Cape Buffalo or Grizzly. Anyway, excellent review!
I ordered 45# Super Mag and it weighs exactly😀 Had a tough time tuning, elevated rest solved the problem. String vibration fixed with two sets of silences.😀
Brilliant video, i am torn between this Supermag 48 and the Kodiak magnum 52 for my wife, which bow do you think would be the better option and what draw weight would you suggest for a lady (5ft 3inch & 140lbs) Thanks in advance for any help/advice from a recent huge fan from England UK.
Can I ask what you ended up with finally for brace height and knock height? In process of getting my own set up and looking for some finer details. Thank you much!
Yes give my buddy Jared a call his number is (352) 376-2411 he runs the Fread Bear Factory Pro Shop in Gainesville Florida I am sure he has what you want tell him I sent you and Thanks for Watching!!!
@@allthingsarcheryandshootin9380 Thanks. these slide onto the string and might be a bit hard to do since they are for compound. One might have to make the original hole bigger for a thicker bow string. I do not use them, as I use the triangles of a hair rest on limbs right where the limbs touch string again before getting to the tips that works well. The rest parts are from a cheap Amazon two pack hair rest, needed the bottom parts as the side rests on a Duel sided 60 inch all fiberglass longbow, the 8200 Actionbow by Actionrod from 1961 to end of 1979 when made. I used thinner green air hocky felt on the rest as I needed a size bigger then that of a hair rest on either side.
I bought one of these and it blew up on me . I was sent a replacement that was marked 55# and it actually drew 67# ! Thst is crazy. The quality control at Bear archery is a JOKE !When Fred Bear died so did Bear Archery. I would not reccomend one of these bows to anyone.
I like how I can hear your videos. You speak clear and concise.
Thanks for sharing appreciate it. I love shooting mine it is a really nice bow see ya soon
God Bless.

I would go with the 52 inch. I am doing a side by side comparison of the 2 bows and will be uploading it shortly look for it.
Thanks

Love the Chanel. On one of your videos, you said you got a factory second bear recurve. Is there a place that you can buy factory seconds?

Reviewers that never condemn a product, are highly suspect in trust and honesty.
Try this off Amazon if you find you are running out of the old Bear silencers, Bowjax 1036 Ultra Bow Jax II Dampener-Pack of 4 (Black).
Ok thank you for the tip I will check it out
