Are you feeling restless, in a funk, or just plain bored? Do you feel like you need something new? Adding outdoor experiences to your life may be just the solution.
This channel is simply a journal of my Outdoor Experiences and some basic tips and reviews to help you along your way as well. I have found that there is something soothing, healing and almost magical about experiencing outdoor life. Go outside and notice, experience and appreciate the world around you.
Experiencing outdoors doesn’t have to be skydiving, bungee jumping, or chasing that adrenaline rush. It can be as simple as taking a walk, riding your bike or enjoying the water. A few moments outside with fresh air, no distractions and a focus on your surroundings is truly therapeutic. Go outside, experience outdoor life and see what happens!

We bought a 20" high inflatable full size mattress with built in inflater/deflator! SUPER COMFY!!
We thought of the queen, but it would've limited the walk around for our tent size.
    I also love the port-o-potty.
I found a collapsible one that's about 16" tall but folds flat to transport. I considered the bucket, but space was limited in our hatchback so whatever could fold flat helped. We use pine pellets (40 lbs /$7 @ tractor supply. We bought about 1.5 gallons scooped into a small $$ tree bucket w lid next to it. We just pop a scoop or two after the deed and it works wonders for liquid and #2. Also lighter to tie and carry out. The pellets absorb immediately.
You're SPOT ON about NOT schlepping up to the rest area in the middle of the night! That wasn't even a thought for me! Our first night as soon as we set up, the sky and wind let loose! Hickory nuts catapulting, sideways rain! And I'm supposed to do a Wizard of Oz/Dorothy in the tornado trek to the bathroom??😮
    Fuhgetaboutit!🤣
    Great video!

I did a privacy tent along with a potty purchased at Sail. It comes with a lid so you can avoid spills and smell. I empty it twice a day at the camp facility and then fill it 1/4 with water (for #2)

Your own private park picnic table. 🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️
Your parks put lots in the area for everyone to use, our parks are a bit tighter than that!

Does anyone ever address the type of electrical cord you need when your van camping at a campground?

Not sure if it'll help, but we bought a conversion adapter at Harbor Freight for about $15/$20. About a foot long with the plug for the campsite box and an open adapter on the other end.
We tent camp on electric/water sites & lots only seemed to have the 30 amp hookups (not everyone can afford an RV off the bat &we didn't want to not enjoy camping while saving for ours.) We also take my Toyota and at 6'4" hubs isn't quite up for that sardine feeling. Our Gazelle has a 7' ceiling.
It plugs into the 30 amp and has a dual 'regular' amp outlet on the other end (like an outlet at home) (techy chick I'm not).
We have an uninterrupted power supply we plug into the end (it's a power bank about the size of a Converse tennis shoe box (in fact, that's what we house it in). It has two surge protector outlets & 4 more outlets that are battery +surge & lasts about 8-10 hours after charged, longer when we turn it off. Also has a USB slot.
We bring it inside our tent to charge phones & use it for the air fryer outside to reheat our frozen camp meals from home.
Hubs found it at some electronic store that was going out of business about 5 yrs back but I'm sure WM has them or another electronic store.
We don't do primitive sites. We do tent camp on water & electric sites, though.
We found a state park in GA, Victoria Bryant State park that has 8 covered platforms for tents only & has regular electric & each site has its own water spigot. We got everything hauled from the car in our wagon in a trek and the platform is perfect for a 9x9 tent. Our neighbor had one with the extended room & it still fit.
The platform also has an overhead light. We pop up our Gazelle and the privacy tent right behind it. Everything stays nice & dry even with the storm we had our first night.
I plug an extension cord into the UPS to run the air fryer away from the tent & reheat our camp meals (I prefer not trying to cook when wet).
We also like to take dry runs to state parks on the weekends. Most libraries will let you check out a free admission pass to state parks & historic sites if you get a library card. This way we can see for ourselves the distance of the power boxes, the sites, how close it might be to restrooms, water, each site, the atmosphere, etc.
TH-cam is fine, but sometimes they just don't point out things in the exact detail you might be looking for.
Hope it helps. Happy camping 🏕️

All i wanna know is...do you go #2 in the bucket? 😂

We do. (I'm not the video maker, but just a commentor)
We have a 16" tall one that has a 'leatherette' seat (which I'm sure is made of the highest quality vinyl 🤣) that I put a smaller bucket inside and double line it then put the seat on top. Ours has a lid. It folds flat for transport and has a carry case. I got it off Amazon.
We use pine pellets. Tractor supply has a 40 lb Bag for $7 & we take about a gallon in a resealable container w a scooper (both from $$tree). One scoop for #1 & a little more for #2 & replace as needed. Take out every morning or every trek on the way out to visit the nearby sites.
We tie one bag for #1 & both bags for #2.
We considered everything from lining the bottom of the bag w adult diapers to baking soda to the poo gel stuff.
A coworker who owns horses told me about the pellets. She uses them in the stalls for over 20 years.
We found it absorbs quicker than kitty litter, has less odor (for #1) just smells woodsy; for #2 we don't let it stay.
It's less expensive than the litter & it's lighter to carry out.
But whatever works. I considered the Home Depot bucket but space was limited in the hatchback so this is perfect for us.
      Happy camping 🏕️
