We are currently buying a bunch of things to set up for our first camping trip. We're loving this video and keep referring back to it, so we can set it up like you have (but with a big family tent, not a swag). We have decided to buy a Bushman Fridge but we're stuck on the solar setup right now, so pricing things. It's a bit overwhelming with the sheer amount of these things on the market, hence, why we're watching vids like these and your's has been the best so far. Thankyou!
G'day Candy! Thanks for taking the time to say g'day and leave a comment! 😀 Thanks for the incredibly kind words... I really appreciate that! The Bushman Fridge is a great option! It should serve you well! 👍 I have actually updated my solar setup since this video... I now run the 300w KickAss Folding Solar Panels. They have been brilliant! A little on the high side with costings, but the output you get from these panels, I feel, really justifies their price... I never worry about my dual battery level when those panels are setup... even under cloudy conditions, they still pump in enough power to charge the battery. 😊 I am putting together a little review video on them, that I will have out soon, so might help you out... but obviously, go to the KickAss website and check them out... I recommend them to everyone now (and nope... I'm not sponsored by them 😂). Thanks again for taking the time to leave a comment, and to check out the vid! Any questions, feel free to ask away 😀 Cheers, Rob 😎
I gotta be honest, when you showed that knife you have for protection I heard Paul Hogan say "That isn't a knife, THIS is a knife". Crocodile Dundee was so big here in the U.S. in the mid 80's, I think I was 15 when it came out.
G'day Rick... yeah mate, that knife is VERY similar to the one used in the movie. Can do some serious damage, that's for sure! The movie was also huge here in Australia too mate, still is! A aussie classic that one! But yeah, in some parts of Australia mate... you definitely still need to carry a knife like that... - glad you enjoyed the clip mate... and hope all is well with you over in the States... great to have you here! Cheers, Rob :)
G'day Bradley... Yeah, it is quite a bit of kit. I only take it all when I know I'm going to be in one spot for an extended period of time. When I know I'll be moving from place to place... I definitely cut right back on what I take 😊
Yeah, exactly Ed, one of the best things about camping... is seeing how others do it, and learning or being inspired by other peoples setups 👍 This particular setup is more for longer stays, when travelling in the outback, I tend to not set all of this up if it's just one night obviously... 🙂 Hope things are going well with you mate!
g'day mate! Yeah cheers, I tend to only set this much stuff up on the longer stays at camp, but it works well indeed. The cover helps in the cool mornings as it keeps the dew off the swag, which makes it slightly warmer inside on a cold morning, and also keeps it dry, so can pack it up straight away without having to wait for the swag to dry off.
Hi Bluecat! Thanks for taking the time fmto say g'day and leave a comment! 🙂 Yeah can totally understand your concern... Solo camping is great, and does give you a chance to clear your mind and truly relax, but youndo want to feel safe at the same time too. Perhaps try a popular campsite, but during the week instead of the weekend. Popular campsites finger quieter during the week, but there is usually still a few people around for you to feel safe. 🙂 Once you do that a few times, I dare say your confidence will grow and you will look for more secluded spots 🤠
Hi there! Single woman in America here, and I have some of the same anxieties. What helps me is to scout potential sites when I am not camping, and spend time there as a day trip beforehand if possible. Being comfortable with the layout and knowing where things are helps me feel (and look) more confident, and that helps to not draw attention to myself as someone who might be easy to take advantage of.
I’m a pretty slim guy that could sometimes pass off as a girl from the distance. And my camping gear being all pretty light weight may suggest as such too. I tend to keep to myself when camping so nobody gets close enough to find out, and a bug net over the head further obscures my gender. Haven’t had any problems with campers as they keep to themselves and don’t come over to check other people out. Pretty sure they feel the same way about their privacy too. This is usually when camping at 24 hour rest stops that don’t have many other campers around. If camping at tourist destinations like paid campgrounds, it’s usually even safer as there’s a care taker that can call for help. The safest with regards to human strangers is in absolute isolation on slightly off road places that deter 2 wheel drivers. Most people who are able to afford a decent 4wd and the fuel to get to such locations are usually more than financially sufficient to go and steal from other campers. Would be rapists are less likely to range out so far either when their more likely targets are found on easier to access hiking trails near cities based on my own safety research too. (Yes I do fear for my safety despite being a guy. I am slim build and not very tall and may be mistaken for a woman as such (many a person have been surprised when I’ve turned around and gone against their expectations, especially when compared to the bulky blokes in Western Australia. I do carry a small knife to alleviate my own fears, but have not encountered any problems ever.)
G'day Snowflake melter... great name too! Yeah, those little white tabs are a game changer... simple but super effective! Ohh, I like the couch and TV idea! Hadn't thought of that at all! Thanks for the kind words too! Appreciate it... and thanks for taking the time to say g'day too! Cheers, Rob
Cool setup mate, thanks for the tips 👍 Security of items has always been a major concern for me when leaving camp unattended, it's bloody inconvenient packing stuff up when you're just going for a couple of hour look around, but more inconvenient to find things missing when you return 😒 Maybe turn the hub into a super security safe somehow 🤔 You'll be a rich man if you figure out how 😉
Hi Marty! Yeah, that has been something I have thought about... putting a padlock on the zips somehow, or a ziptie... I tend to just try and judge the area I am camping in as to how safe I think everything will be... 99% of the time, fellow campers and travellers are fine, it's mainly when in what feels like a slightly dodgy area do I tend to pack things away before going on a hike or drive up some tracks away from camp. Great to hear from you mate! 🙂
Try barbecue heat beads and you won't need coals...also they are a much more consistent heat . Yeah I know ..it isn't the "outback" way ..but it saves a lot of mucking around with getting coals out of a fire to heat your camp oven . Great tip about the white tape on the zip .
G'day g'day! Yeah, am looking at maybe moving to a heat beads campfire cooking setup... just seems a heck of a lot easier! Glad you enjoyed the vid mate, and yeah, the white tape is a popular tip indeed 👍 Cheers, Rob 😎
I would totally stack empty milk crates inside that empty tent and use it for waterproof storage. The crates can double as storage for transport. Add a bench/stool for changing clothes easily. If you are in mosquito country, that would be a great place to hang out in the mornings and evenings when they are swarming.
G'day G'day! That's a great idea! Yeah, milk crates or large storage boxes is a great idea in there! 👏 The hubs are perfect for hiding away from the mozzies! Also when out, in really remote outback QLD... getting away from the flies can be a challenge... going into the hub is a great escape for some peace too! Cheers for the crate idea... that's a great one! 👍 Cheers, Rob! 😎
It would be cool to use it as a store room like you are, but with stuff stored towards the back with a cupboard and all that, then you can quickly chuck your outside stuff in the tent and add a lock to make it secure so you can have a less anxious mind when away from the camp.
G'day Ellena! Yeah, that's the ideal setup I think 👍 Have been hunting for a good quality cupboard type setup that packs down really small to give this a go 😊 A lock is a good idea too! I am probably far too trusting for my own good 🤣 Only a few spots where I have camped that I have felt a little anxious and cautious of those who are camped nearby... Thanks for the comment and the ideas! Love it! 😎 Rob.
G'day Robby! Thanks for the idea mate! That's a great one! A rainy day setup would be perfect in there! 👍 The drawers have been on my mind for a while now... I really do need to get some camping drawers! Thanks mate... 👍🤠
Mate cool set up with the shower set up i just bought a 12v submersible pump thing cost roughly 20 bucks collapsible bucket just fire up the billy add boiling water to river water in the bucket cheapest shower you can have. Have you been robbed camping before or just extra cautious? Id get those collapsible shelving units make better use of the space. Also where are you that camp ground looks great ?
G'day mate! Yeah those small shower setups are brilliant too... at the end of the day, doesn't really matter what ya go with... as long as it works for you :) Haven't been robbed while camping... touch wood that never happens... I have heard stories though of people just helping themselves to other peoples camps while they are away. The collapsible shelves are what I am leaning towards... moreso for longer camps I think. That campground is out at Imbil. Fantast little spot indeed. Peach Trees.
Hahah I know right!? Now you will be wishing you had one at camp ages ago! 😂 Glad you enjoyed the clip mate... and thanks for taking the time to say g'day! 👍
@@TheWandererAUS Yeah mum wasn’t too impressed when I poked a hole in it…. Great video mate they are pretty good idea. safe travels out there 🤙🏽 Now I have to try find a stable table 😂
G'day Peter! Thanks for the kind words mate! Appreciate it! A video showing the pack is a great idea! Hadn't thought of that myself 👍 Will put one together... keep an eye out for it soon! 😎 Cheers, Rob
nice set up but so much stuff for solo camping. take the big tent and store your stuff and for sleeping. I have other suggestions but that is just one of them.
G'day! Thanks for the comment and suggestion. Yeah, storage space is pretty much all I am utilising it for as you could probably tell 🙂 It is quite a bit of kit indeed, I only ever go to that sort of length of setup when I am staying quite a few days. Glad you enjoyed it mate! It's always interesting seeing how others have their setup and what works for them 👍 Cheers, Rob
G'day Steve! Am glad it was able to help you out mate! A camp setup is truly an ever evolving thing. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment too... great stuff! 👍 Rob
Yeah absolutely! You might get some funny comments from others... but you will be the only one that won't have their dinner spilt all over your shirt at camp! 😂 Glad you enjoyed the vid! Thanks for taking the time to say g'day and leave a comment too! 😎 Cheers, Rob
Cheers mate, the whole setup only comes out on extended camping trips... but it certainly does the trick! Glad you enjoyed it mate... and thanks for taking the time to leave a comment too! Cheers, Rob.
G'day Irene, thanks for the kind words! Am glad it has helped you out a little, it's all trial and error until you find what works for you. 😃 Thanks for taking the time to say G'day and leaving a comment too! What does your current setup consist of? Rob
I have a mesh ground sheet, swag, tarp (have recently purchased a gazebo and en suite tent), camp chair and table. Much of my stuff is from Adventure Kings. I still need to look into a Stable Table, though. But I'm nearly set for my dream set-up. Just need to add a portable power station as well, so I can do TH-cam videos while on holidays. 😁 By the way, I have a sedan, so not quite the 4WD set-up that you have.
@@irenedehaan Wow! That's a great setup! Well done... As for Adventure Kings gear, I think their stuff is great for working out what you do and don't need for each persons particular setup. Nothing worse than buying something really expensive for camping, then realising that you never actually use it! So the Adventure Kings stuff, I find, is great for trial and error stuff. Sounds like you are pretty much ready to rock and roll! Don't worry about the sedan aspect of it, the list of places you can get to for camping in a sedan is just as long in most areas as a 4WD. Great to hear from you again Irene! Rob 😎
Got the same gazebo, went camping, first time using it, we were all stuffed and had a fire and it burnt holes in the gazebo, next morning it was pissing down and it still worked perfectly, was surprised
Hows it going? Headed for my first solo camp this weekend. Made several ✔️s over my equipment and I think im ready to go.. Thur night chicken and potato foil packs and Fri nigjt will be chili.
G'day mate! It will no doubt be an awesome weekend! That chicken and potato sounds pretty darn good! Don't forget the firelighters/lighter for the fire... and a pillow... make sure you have that! 😂 Will be keen to hear how you go mate! Let me know how it all went when you get back! Cheers, Rob 😎
G'day mate! Yeah, this setup is more for longer stays, of more than 2 nights or so... The kitchen setup you run with the Drifta firepit gear is great in my opinion and something I am seriously considering at the moment 👍 Hope all is well mate 🙂
Nice effective simple set up. I'm using a batwing awning with swag on stretcher bed of my dual cab. I'm with you on the thieving. Last time at a well known gorge location stuff went missing so sad
G'day mate! That is incredibly sad to hear mate ☹ Did you have insurance of any kind? Have been considering a batwing awning for a while now, however, on the Supercab, they just don't sit right on the roof rack which is a bit of a shame. Great to hear from you mate! 👍
@@Electrotract thats a real shame mate... that kind of thing really annoys me! - The issue with the awning is that the awning itself is too long. They end up bowing when mounted to a space cab, well, I should say the longer ones do, and the short 1.5m ones aren't really worth the effort or money 😂 I now mount my shovel and axe on that side of the roof rack now anyway, so not overly fussed 👍 Will be putting out a bit of a 'rig rundown' clip soon of the Ranger, she looks a lot different now to when I bought it! 😂
G'day Jayson, yeah I have actually tried that mate... the one downfall of that Hub, is that it does get very warm, very quickly in there... even with the windows open. It's a tricky space...
I have a pretty similar set up like yours, main difference I don't use the gazebo hub. (Not a bad idea just a little to much for me 🙂) I generally have 2 Walls with my oztrail gazebo... I also use a oztrail monsoon fly, which attaches via the Velcro and hooks to the oztrail gazebo, adds allot more roof/shelter space. It's a good lean to for the swag. Which inturn gives you more space directly under the gazebo (if that makes sense) ** storage idea! - Oztent camper cupboard. Comes in 2 sizes, single & double. Lightweight but really sturdy. Supper quick & easy to set up to. The double size would be best suited for you.
G'day mate! That monsoon fly is a great option! They work great too! Might actually pick one up myself and give it a go, as you say, a great lean for the swag!!
Great video! You have a great setup. I'm just getting into camping, so, to my limited knowledge and experience, your setup seems to be a lot just for a couple of nights, no offence. I'm sure, after a few trips I'll learn! At the moment I have a swag, gazebo, table, chair and basic cooking gear.
Hi Bob! Great to see you getting into camping and hitting the outdoors! Yeah, the setup in this video is more so for when I am based somewhere for a week or so... it is a lot of gear, no offence taken. Since this video, I have actually scaled back a bit... I should do an update video maybe... - Swag, Gazebo, Table, Chair and basic cooking gear... mate... that's all you need! I am almost back to that scale too now... it's like the old saying "the more you setup... the more you have to pack up!" haha
This is a delightfully unique camp set up. I love your bed, er swag. Sorry, I'm a Yankee. Though the swag looks sufficiently bug netted, don't the insects drive you nuts in the gazebo? I've never been to Australia, so I don't know your flying, biting, stinging, bloodsucking insect situation. I've heard about the spiders, snakes, cane toads, rabbits, kangaroos and emus and any dozen other poisonous creatures, but mosquitoes are what I hate. I walk outside at dusk and you can hear their dinner bell go off, so I'd have that gazebo thoroughly covered with midge size screen.😂😂😂 Let's be real, my idea of roughing it is a stay at the Ritz Carlton with slow room service. Your camp does look welcoming and comfortable, though. I can't think of any other use for your spare room other than storage, except to make it your bath/dressing/storage room. Set your bathroom tent up in there where all of your equipment would be out of sight. Of course, if I went camping with you, you'd be thinking I brought my entire household with me. But there's no danger of that when y'all's on the other side of the world and there are lots of camp grounds throughout the state of Michigan. Though the most beautiful are in the Upper Peninsula, where it's a bit wilder, especially around Lake Superior,v the largest of our Great Lakes. However, the mosquitoes are fierce. Not as bat as the mosquitoes in Atlanta, Georgia. My friend who lives there assures me their mosquitoes carry knives. And speaking of knives, the knife you keep in your swag is a pretty serious piece of steel! My first thought was Crcodile Dundee. But I'm American, so there's that.
Howdy doo! Thanks for taking the time to say g'day and leave a few questions... more than happy to answer them for you 😀 Only once have the bugs really annoyed me in the gazebo, and that was way out in the outback just after some rain (they come out in their BILLIONS after rain) - Mozzies and things are worse in some areas moreso than others... riverbanks and beaches, they are hard to escape, but usually only around sunset are they particularly bad. You can buy a midgee/mozzie surround for the gazebo... but us tough Aussies don't need that! hahaha Yeah, that little side room is pretty much still a storage/change room... and recently, I haven't even bothered setting it up! A lot of people have commented on this set-up, saying that I literally have brought the house along with me, but this setup is only for extended stays... sort of 4 or 5 days or more in one spot. Otherwise, this setup gets cut back considerably! Would love to get to Michigan and the great lakes... they look stunning! I have only done the east coast of the USA (Florida up to New York). That knife in the swag, is pretty much the same one as in Crocodile Dundee... a great knife for protection... kinda like in the movie! haha - Have only used it in anger against an animal once... and hopefully never again! Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for saying g'day too... really appreciate that! Hope to hear from you again! Cheers, Rob 😎
@@TheWandererAUS take a year to come to the US and wander. Michigan has the longest coast line of any state. And much as I love it, the Pacific Northwest is wonderful too, especially Washington State and Oregon. The geology is incredible. From western Montana through southern Idaho, eastern Washington and northern Oregon along the Columbia River, you can see all of the evidence of the Missoula floods. There are also a lot of volcanoes, active and ancient. It's fascinating, if you enjoy geology. I also recommend northern California, which is very much like the PNW only more dry. Going back north, Montana is gorgeous. I love the Rocky Mountains. They are truly beautiful, though I think they are at their best in Colorado. I love Denver. However, you do need to drink a lot of water and take things slower because the altitude is no joke. Did you get a chance to camp in the Appalachian Mountains? They are so very ancient, worn down but beautiful. They were part of a mountain range that continues in Scotland, it split when the continent of Pangaea broke apart. I will natter on about such things for hours. It was lovely to read your reply. I hope you have plenty of chances to go camping.
@@rowdysgirlalways Some of those destinations sound amazing! I didn't get to do any camping at all on my last trip over there... but by the sounds of it... I need to get that sorted out! haha I didn't know about the Appalachian Mountain range that re-appears over in Scotland! That's unbelievable! Hopefully heading out camping this week :)
awesome vid!! how do you find the gazebo hods up in wetter windy conditions?? Thinking of getting one as an extention to my awning, in hope to set up a base if i want to take the car for a day trip drive somewhere from camp. so would love to hear how its treated you the last couple years!
G'day mate! The gazebo has help up under some intense weather! Have had it now going on 4 years I think... still the original roof lining, original frame and ropes... its been brilliant. It really does come down to common sense and how you set it up... I did do a seperate video on the gazebo itself, with some tips for setting it up etc... but I reckon go for it mate... Shelter is one of the most important things at camp in my opinion, so going for a slightly more heavy duty and potentially more expensive gazebo is worth it I believe... as it's the roof over your head. Have had mine through crazy winds, plenty of wild QLD summer storms, and so far... touch wood... it's held up and going strong! :) Hope this helps mate! Cheers, Rob
Thanks folks! Might be time I do a bit of an update actually... has been some recent modifications to this setup in recent times 🙂 Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment too! Cheers, Rob
Hi mate. Thanks for the video on your set up. I'm curious about your gazebo. My wife and I have had a couple of Oztrail 6m x 3m gazebos and they leaked like sieves in rainy weather. How do you find the Oztrail in the rain? We like to camp in the rain and don't ever cancel our plans for wet weather, so we've had to move on to a very expensive Altegra 6 x 3. It's a great bit of kit - completely rainproof canopy - and to be honest it would want to be for the price. Have you had any trouble with the Oztrail in the rain? Cheers. Craig, Brisbane.
G'day Craig! Thanks for the quiet mate! 👍 That is a shame you haven't had a good experience with the Oztrail gazebos. The one in this clip, I still use to this day, it has the original roof lining, framework etc. Similar to yourself, I don't let a bit of rain stop me from going camping either, but haven't had any leak issues with the roof or anything as yet. 3 years into owning this gazebo now, and it is starting to show signs of wear... So will look to replace the roof lining soon. Were you experiencing water pooling before the leakage? I put together a little tips and tricks video on the gazebo that might help you out 😊 a few people have found it to be useful... I'll link it here for you: th-cam.com/video/cKdZ_ZveVws/w-d-xo.html Hope it helps mate! Rob 🤠
G'day g'day! So glad it was helpful for you 😊 so many different ways to camp and have a setup! One of the best things about camping... Is seeing how others do it! 🏕️🚙
Thanks! 👍 One of the best things about camping is the uniqueness that everyone brings to their camp setups... Can always get a trick or 2 from seeing how others camp! Glad you enjoyed the clip 🙂 cheers!
A comfy set up but way too much gear for my liking. I prefer quicker set ups which works better if you move around a bit like me. Cheers for sharing. Looking forward to more from you.
Hey mate, yeah this setup is for when I do extended stays somewhere, when it is more than just a one nighter or a few nights, I'll set this up... far too much for a overnight stay... single nighters are usually just the swag and maybe gazebo depending on weather (to keep the swag dry). Glad you enjoyed it mate! 👍 More adventures on the way 🙂
G'day g'day! 👍 In this clip, I'm at Imbil State Forest in QLD... The campground is called Peach Trees Camping... A gorgeous spot as I'm sure you will agree. I did do a campground walkaround vid of my trip here, I'll link it here for you th-cam.com/video/fNvp8tFUwDc/w-d-xo.html Hope you enjoy 🤠 cheers, Rob 😊
Howdy mate! Thanks! This setup only really gets set up on longer stays somewhere, for an overnighter, it would usually just be the swag and gazebo and floor, but since I did a long stint in Jimna State Forest recently, I decided to set it all up 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the clip mate 👍
G'day Tom! I actually do have MRE meals in my emergency kit! I occasionally cook up one of the beef meals if I'm feeling impatient waiting for the fire to burn right or whatever 😂 Nothing wrong with them in my opinion! Cheers taking the time to leave a comment and say g'day! Cheers, Rob 😎
G'day Adam, yeah mate... Jimna State Forest... I have a video on my time at that camp there too mate... I'll link it here for you.. it includes a full look around the area... as well as some terrible camp cooking 😂 cheers, Rob! th-cam.com/video/fNvp8tFUwDc/w-d-xo.html
Hi mate, no dramas at all. I tend to pick up my firewood from those little stalls you see outside people's properties. It is often the best as usually it's very dry, good hardwood. The bag stuff from the servos is just rubbish and burns far too slowly... On your next trip mate, keep an eye out for people selling firewood on the way out and buy some (always have cash for the honesty policy), and I guarantee you ... You won't be disappointed 👍 cheers mate, hope all is well 😊 Rob
One tip tho... If going away at busy periods like school holidays... Grab a bag or 2 from the servo just in case others have already snagged all the good stuff. Always have a backup 👍
G'day David 👍 thankfully, have never had an issue mate. I have camped through some big storms here in South East Queensland, and can tell you that it has all held up perfectly. Everything in this clip, I'm still using... No replacements as yet. 🙂 There's a few trip videos on my channel here where storms have blown through and you can see everything holding up fine 👍. Thanks for the question mate, hope you are well! Cheers, Rob 🤠
G'day elysian95, the area around that campground has some great 4wd tracks, so took them just in case I got myself into a bit of a situation... turns out I didn't end up hitting the tracks in the end. What really gets me, is when people drive around town with them on their cars... like they think they might get bogged on a major highway 😂 - I do remove my maxtrax, and well, everything on my roof when I'm not actually camping or on a trip. Hope you are well, and thanks for taking the time to say g'day and leave a comment! Cheers, Rob
G'day Jeff... Yeah it is quite a bit of kit... I only ever take all of this if I know I'm going to be camped up in one spot for quite some time. On shorter trips, a lot less gear is taken. I might put togethera solo "weekender setup" vid 👍
This is not camping, this is glamping.. way, way, way to much stuff.. and for 1 person,2 days... u should invest in some friends instead of all that unnecessary bs equipment. I'm sorry,, u do have a great set up but for a family of 5 not for 1 person.. setting up and breaking down must be hell
G'day Will, yeah it is quite the amount of gear... It doesn't go on every trip, only extended ones... Sort of a week long etc that are quite remote with no facilities and needing to be self sufficient... I certainly don't set this all up every time... I barely take it all on most trips... But it is handy to have depending on where you are camping. 👍

I gotta be honest, when you showed that knife you have for protection I heard Paul Hogan say "That isn't a knife, THIS is a knife". Crocodile Dundee was so big here in the U.S. in the mid 80's, I think I was 15 when it came out.

Being comfortable with the layout and knowing where things are helps me feel (and look) more confident, and that helps to not draw attention to myself as someone who might be easy to take advantage of.
Buy a pepper spray $50 easy, I don't camp without it.
Hey thats the way i set my camp up , with a few differences , but basically the same. .Great minds think alike. 😂😂😂❤❤❤
G'day mate! Yeah, simple is usually the best I reckon... Easy is usually more enjoyable too! Thanks for the comment! 🙂
White tape great idea for the hub blowup couch and tv or make it you bathroom area 😊love the video
Cheers, Rob
Cool setup mate, thanks for the tips 👍
Security of items has always been a major concern for me when leaving camp unattended, it's bloody inconvenient packing stuff up when you're just going for a couple of hour look around, but more inconvenient to find things missing when you return 😒 Maybe turn the hub into a super security safe somehow 🤔 You'll be a rich man if you figure out how 😉
Bro its a camping trip not his future home
Love it! 😎 Rob.
You could use that space for definitely need extra table chair little draw setup for them raining days lounge area something like that
G'day Robby!
G'day mate! Yeah those small shower setups are brilliant too... at the end of the day, doesn't really matter what ya go with... as long as it works for you :)
Haven't been robbed while camping... touch wood that never happens... I have heard stories though of people just helping themselves to other peoples camps while they are away.
The collapsible shelves are what I am leaning towards... moreso for longer camps I think. That campground is out at Imbil. Fantast little spot indeed. Peach Trees.
Mate I haven’t seen a Stable Table since I was a kid when my mum had one 😂
Great idea 👍
Hahah I know right!? Now you will be wishing you had one at camp ages ago! 😂 Glad you enjoyed the clip mate... and thanks for taking the time to say g'day! 👍
@@TheWandererAUS Yeah mum wasn’t too impressed when I poked a hole in it….
Great video mate they are pretty good idea.
safe travels out there 🤙🏽
Now I have to try find a stable table 😂
looks like a great setup for one. can you show us how you pack the ute with the gear? thanks
It's always interesting seeing how others have their setup and what works for them 👍 Cheers, Rob
how about trying 2 star pickets across the top of the fire ring ,about 12-14 " apart to support your grill or frypan ???
Yeah that's a great idea... And one I have decided to go with 👍 have since bought a tripod stand to hang pots and pans and my camp oven off 😊😊
buy weather box for carry your things as better easy camping and packing and travel
actually picked one up last month mate... and you are right, has made it so much easier! 👍
Great set-up mate, given me a few ideas...thanks!
G'day Steve! Am glad it was able to help you out mate! A camp setup is truly an ever evolving thing. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment too... great stuff! 👍 Rob
Love the stable table! I’ll have to look into those.
Yeah absolutely! You might get some funny comments from others... but you will be the only one that won't have their dinner spilt all over your shirt at camp! 😂 Glad you enjoyed the vid! Thanks for taking the time to say g'day and leave a comment too! 😎 Cheers, Rob
What a fantastic set up, livin the dream mate
Cheers mate, the whole setup only comes out on extended camping trips... but it certainly does the trick! Glad you enjoyed it mate... and thanks for taking the time to leave a comment too! Cheers, Rob.
I really love your set-up, and it's giving me some fantastic ideas for my own car camping set-up.. thank you so much for sharing!! 😁😁
By the way, I have a sedan, so not quite the 4WD set-up that you have.
🤣🤣 love it!
Awesome Setup keep it simple and you can never go wrong thanks for sharing🇦🇺👍
@@TheWandererAUS Just reported to local Managers. You can get just a 180 degree awning perhaps?
@@Electrotract thats a real shame mate... that kind of thing really annoys me! - The issue with the awning is that the awning itself is too long. They end up bowing when mounted to a space cab, well, I should say the longer ones do, and the short 1.5m ones aren't really worth the effort or money 😂 I now mount my shovel and axe on that side of the roof rack now anyway, so not overly fussed 👍 Will be putting out a bit of a 'rig rundown' clip soon of the Ranger, she looks a lot different now to when I bought it! 😂
@@TheWandererAUS understand that makes sense
@@TheWandererAUS what you do if you were to fit one, pack it up each time you want to go exploring?🤔
You should put swag set up in the tent and leave all the other stuff in there to. I do that bra..
Oztent camper cupboard, this is the single version, but comes in a larger double size to.
th-cam.com/video/0WmgGfFuCgg/w-d-xo.html
You can buy a midgee/mozzie surround for the gazebo... but us tough Aussies don't need that! hahaha
Yeah, that little side room is pretty much still a storage/change room... and recently, I haven't even bothered setting it up!
Cheers,
Rob 😎
I need to get that sorted out! haha
I didn't know about the Appalachian Mountain range that re-appears over in Scotland! That's unbelievable!
Hopefully heading out camping this week :)
😊👍🇦🇺Great clip Rob,good to see ya fit and healthy 👁👁
G'day Graham! Yeah, kickin along still 😂 Hope all is well with you mate! These lockdowns are getting to be a bit of old news now 🙄
awesome vid!! how do you find the gazebo hods up in wetter windy conditions??
Cheers, Rob

Great set up Rob…very similar to my solo setup. 👍
G'day Norm, thanks mate. Yeah it's a compact little setup but works well I think 👍 glad you enjoyed the clip too! Cheers, Rob 🤠
I'll link it here for you: th-cam.com/video/cKdZ_ZveVws/w-d-xo.html

Top tip.
Don't ever admit you're packing a knife for"protection".
G'day mate! Yeah in hindsight, I probably should have edited that bit out 😂
Loved it mate that was awesome to watch you gave us a little more tips and tricks
G'day g'day! So glad it was helpful for you 😊 so many different ways to camp and have a setup! One of the best things about camping... Is seeing how others do it! 🏕️🚙
nice!
👍 More adventures on the way 🙂
Sorry Missed where you are. What state forest?
G'day g'day! 👍 In this clip, I'm at Imbil State Forest in QLD... The campground is called Peach Trees Camping... A gorgeous spot as I'm sure you will agree. I did do a campground walkaround vid of my trip here, I'll link it here for you th-cam.com/video/fNvp8tFUwDc/w-d-xo.html
Hope you enjoy 🤠 cheers, Rob 😊
Great setup. :-)
Howdy mate! Thanks! This setup only really gets set up on longer stays somewhere, for an overnighter, it would usually just be the swag and gazebo and floor, but since I did a long stint in Jimna State Forest recently, I decided to set it all up 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the clip mate 👍
Here's me with me mre meals haha

Sorry Rob quick question…
Where do you get your bags of firewood from?? It looks decent.. all the crap ones I get are absolute crap.. cheers
@@TheWandererAUS cheers Rob greatly appreciated..
One tip tho... If going away at busy periods like school holidays... Grab a bag or 2 from the servo just in case others have already snagged all the good stuff. Always have a backup 👍
@@TheWandererAUS good to know cheers Rob..
How does that go in high wind mate?
G'day David 👍 thankfully, have never had an issue mate. I have camped through some big storms here in South East Queensland, and can tell you that it has all held up perfectly. Everything in this clip, I'm still using... No replacements as yet. 🙂 There's a few trip videos on my channel here where storms have blown through and you can see everything holding up fine 👍. Thanks for the question mate, hope you are well! Cheers, Rob 🤠
Judging by the accent and the surrounding, I'm going to guess that this was filmed in new York city!!
Just off Broadway a-coupl-a blocks 🤣
With respect I can't really understand why you would need maxtrax if you are just going on a simple camping trip in a vehicle that is already 4 wd.
Cheers, Rob
13:30 Just dont shower lol your camping you gonna wash that camping smell off ya
I tend to agree! Love that campfire smell all over the clothes!😎
Way to much gear all over the place. I hope u have another to look after it when you go away from camp
G'day Jeff... Yeah it is quite a bit of kit... I only ever take all of this if I know I'm going to be camped up in one spot for quite some time. On shorter trips, a lot less gear is taken. I might put togethera solo "weekender setup" vid 👍
Great set up but the more bags and crap you have the longer the set up
Who needs wardrobes other than sales for retail shareholders
Are you single?
