Gonna have to dock you a point for not showing how to get rid of that 5 (subtract it from both sides of the equation). Granted, when I solved this in my head, that 5 kind of went away intuitively, so I understand. Still.... to quote every math teacher ever... _show your work._

Hi, I’m interested to re-capitulate my math skills, I’m French speaking originally and want to go back to college, I do need high school math and college math recap, what can I do?

I can tell you a one simple thing. Europe has got a little bit higher level of math teaching than USA. Many people from the college equivallents in Europe say they have to study less because they know some topics in advance. It's not a secret wisdom or rocket science. They studied their particular lectures a couple years before moving to USA. So more knowledge of eg. math is required in Europe to pass all the exams in general. I'm not a native speaker so please all of you excuse me some of my mistakes like wrong prepositions in text above or wrong order of words in my current comment.

I agree with you but it’s been a while since I did my last mathmatic, I need a refresh of things, theories and principles to be back on the trail

All the angles must add up to 360 degrees

    had to double-take at (2x + 5)°... as I initially thought the ° was a power; (2x + 5)^0... haha

Am I missing something, don’t really need to do math on this if you know a line is 180?

This problem is entirely intuitive, and X representing any quantity along with an integer is a good exercise in thinking through an algebraic form, but is otherwise an incomplete example without noting that given X = 45 degrees, it is axiomatic that all angles are right angles, and that any additional integer other than 0 is a tautological artifact. Given this, X itself is a tautology, since "n times X plus/minus the integer" = the known angle.
