I've been effortlessly breezing through geometry and Tomorrow's my regents exam and I KNEW I would forget a thing or two from the school year. This video is incredible and packed into bite sized packages that my short attention span can work efficiently with. After some unfortunate events when I was 18 I had to drop out and start working, 7 years later I am trying to get my highschool diploma. I failed geometry so many times in highschool i cant even count it anymore. I finally passed the class with this program I am in and go take my EOC exam or graduation test in 13 days. Thank you for helping me and the kids still in highschool prepare for things like this
It is so impressive that you're going back to tackle this as an adult. Most don't. You're a badass for that reason alone - don't forget it. I don't live in Ohio, so I can't give you any insight about that exam. But I can tell you that even though I made these videos for anyone anywhere, the students in Florida have said my geo review is helping them pass their EOC - I don't live in Florida, either. Remember - you don't need to get all the questions right to pass. The big ideas of geometry don't change from state to state.
@@doesmathforcoffee you have definitely helped me get a few things I had trouble understanding. So I really do thank you for that. The practice test for here has questions that aren't even covered by khan academy for geometry and it was the most prevalent question on the test other than two column proofs which is something else I have some difficulty with I've added your geometry videos to my playlist that I'm using to try and prepare myself for the test. This is actually really wonderful that you put all these questions for us and go through each one of them. My Geo exam is tmr and im nervouse as heck but this has calmed me down. Thank you.
When I went back to college 10 years after high school, I taught myself geometry from books. Maybe that’s why it’s my favorite topic to teach? It’s a good place to start.
The order of the letters matters. For AAS, the congruent side will not be between the angles. For this example, the given info has the side between the angles so it is ASA to prove the triangles are congruent. We then can assume all the other parts are congruent, but you can’t do that right away. Love your comment because it is a common question.
I am seeing this just because I love math. Another reason I want to do better in Olympiad. I discovered several theorem! How exciting! Though they were all found way before the discovery of planes...
I know some of these from 7th grade, learnt some of it in 8th grade nowadays. From a math tutor like you,do you think it's too hard for people below 9th grade? Is our school system that bad?
I’m teaching 8th grade math this year. We will do some of this. But yes, for the last 25 years, math curriculum has gradually become less rigorous. Need to be a little older to see it. I remember a textbook adoption around 2000 when I threw up red flags. I saw a lot of what we taught in algebra 1 moved up into algebra 2. Honors classes now used to be our regular classes.

Ps: the video is really good, you explain in a way is easy to understand and the examples are practical ❤
They are typical for a regular geometry class where I live, but an honors or advanced geometry will have more topics and more challenging problems. I just uploaded a video about partitioning a segment and that topic is in honors geometry in my district.
Thanks for clarifying which question. If I understand your question correctly, I’d say no. The -7 and -2 are on the same side of the equation so I combined them. I could have added 7 to both sides in one step then add 2 to both sides in a separate step. But since they are both negative to start with, adding cancels them from the left side.
