Totally agree! I'd even say that every dad or mom needs a HANDHELD device, whatever it is. I'm parent of 2, recently had a baby, bought a Switch and man, it has been a blast! I innitialy bought it w/ intention to play games like Zelda ToTk, but I'm also enjoying play every kind of game on it in handheld mode, specially the old ones available via NSO. I keep the console games on stand by mode and whenever I have some free time available, I basically need to pressa a button, load the latest saved state and voilá, i'm ready for action! I was also getting pretty tired of wasting my time with mindless scrolling on social media. Now I'm spending my time solving a puzzle on Link's Awakening for example and it makes me very satisfied.
Okay that side by side comparison of the DS vs your emulation devise was mind blowing for me. I never thought of how much better the screen would be on modern devise. 🤯
@@TheNerdLemon for real tho. It was a total shocker to me too after I’d been playing Miyoo Mini Plus for some time. I booted it up and wow does the DS not translate well after all the years. My iPhone camera doesn’t do it justice. In real life it’s even more shocking but at least you get a preview here. Crazy right? I also showed the cartridge in case Nintendo comes knocking on my door with the legal ninjas showing I actually own this game
As a husband, a father, and a student simultaneously my PS Vita has seen SO much more usage than my home consoles. So easy to just bust out some gameboy or SNES game for 10 minutes, save where I'm at and drop it the moment I'm needed elsewhere to help about the house or what have you. Edit: Also if you play a lot of pokemon or 1 - 2 button games then you can map the confirm button to the left shoulder button putting everything you need in just your left hand.
btw: My favorite devices at the moment are the Miyoo Mini Plus and the R36S, the latter especially with the Portmaster part. I have a Steam Deck as well, but it's an other was of gaming. Haven't played on my PC for years now.
@@thedadamer I thought of something like that, but in reality, I'm glad if I can go to bed and geht some sleep. Most of my playtime is Casual gaming on the couch while watching TV. Retro handheld, Steamdeck or Switch. Didn't turn on my PC for 8 months I think 😅
@@CroakExcruiation the holidays are on their way and our phones listen to us even more to market products to us. At this point their even listening to our thoughts. Maybe you were thinking about playing games with your dad? lol
For now its vanilla but I'm planning to mod it. It's a long process though but I think it's worth in the end. I also play on my PSP sometimes when I get her ready for bed. It's small and I got some good games. I run custom firmware on it @@thedadamer
@ When he was tiny I used to sit with him on a nursing cushion at the PC and could get a few hours in during a nap! Now though I can just about play switch as long as I hide the controller 😂 Have also tried using Moonlight to stream from my main PC to the living room laptop and been able to play a little while he does mega blocks, but that is very short sessions!
Oh also, a nursing cushion will really free up both hands for gaming with the little one!

Switch is so convenient. Just heard Switch 2 will be backwards compatible. Nintendo knows Switch is a force of nature

I completely missed out on VITA. I have my old PSP lying around but the load times Yeesh.
Not a dad and already have an emulation device so I'm not sure how this popped up or really why I watched but this was alright, have a like sir
@@Project_Worm well thank you! Which device do you have?
Also. If this were Zelda would you give me a like like?
Dad of two here, I have a whole drawer filled with these. 😂 Didn't have a single one when my first child was born.

@@thedadamer yes, definitely.

Save states are key for parents!
@@joethealternativegamer3935 it’s way more motivating to play with them. I don’t wanna go thru the whole permadeath stuff.

Don't know why they recommended me this I'm not even a dad

Just don’t pull it out in-front of your toddler or you’ll never get it back!
