As a collector, I'd be furious if I ordered a top loader and did not get the top loaded controllers with it.
On a more realistic note, being cautious vs being furious would be most collectors if they were looking for a specific thing. For instance, calling someone at luckie to confirm that the top-loader would come with the dogbone controllers. You could then move in to furious territory if they confirmed then didn't deliver.
Its like buying game discs on different sites and they are without a case and manual, but then ya see empty labeled cases sold separately and manual sold separately. I start thinking that the greedy jerks are splitting up everything and selling on their separate accounts to scam more money. For the prices some are asking for original game discs, they better have a manual and og case. I dont mind paying just for a disc in good condition if the price is lower. I can always make a manual copy if i can find a file for it.
at least from ebay you can see the condition of the consoles you buy yourself, as opposed to trusting these companies showing you a random image. Granted, I've had 2 occurrences on ebay where the sellers switched game discs on me (the disc I received differed from their product listing) so.. buying used products online in general is a risky venture 💀
Over the past couple of months, I've amassed a small collection of 70 or so NES games from various sources: Gamestop, Lukie Games, eStarland and various eBay sellers. 2 of the 4 I got from Lukie Games were the only 2 of the entire 70 that gave me so many problems (on both my top loader NES and front-loader with a brand new 72-pin) that I nearly gave up on them before finally getting them to work after like a dozen re-inserts and multiple cleanings. Gamestop has been surprisingly solid when a game you're looking for is actually in-stock, and eStarland was by far the most reliable. That's my story.
Honestly I’ve bought games from them for years. Only bought one console but it was a ds lite that came in good condition and was only like 60 bucks and I’ve never had any issues with them. The console prices are high, but the game prices are good compared to eBay for most games
Same I've bought like 50+ PS2 games from them and they all came in immaculate condition Though I wouldn't expect less considering they have the most expensive disc resurfacer on the market I've also bought a few GBC and DS games from them didn't have any issues with them either, labels and cartridges were in good condition Back to the PS2 games I'd also like to point out every single game came complete with all the original paperwork and or additional disc's including demo disc's and promotional boxes
@@P_D-px6ivthe biggest purchases I made from them is a GBA SP Dreamcast RE 2 and 3 and Mega Man X2 which was going for 250$ at the time and they all showed up in excellent condition

Been buying from them for years. It's not that they're a bad site, it's that they're an online seller reminiscent of DKOldies, so guilt by association. DKOldies sells actual garbage, Lukie's worst crime is high prices on consoles.
Interestingly, Lukie Games actually won an ebay auction of mine for a couple of SNES games. I imagine the games are going to show up at their next owner's in the same condition I had them.
that’s what these places do and that’s why the prices are so high. they move too much volume to depend on trade ins, so they just buy them on eBay and mark it up from there. they’re depending on people i guess being scared of ebay. all you need to do is to know how to spot a fake, just by looking at photos i have never gotten a fake. thousands spent on games in the last few months almost exclusively on ebay and not a single fake.
I am pretty sure their website dynamically adjusts the prices to get the max possible. So if something goes unsold for X time they decrease till it sells and if its popular they increase it until it stops selling and then drop it back down.

Lukie is entirely responsible for getting me back into gaming. I bought a 2008 fat body 20gb 360 back in 2017 for $70, been using it nearly every day since, and it runs like a watch. I also ordered a bunch of games with it, all of which ran perfectly and had zero scratches whatsoever, not even kidding. On top of all that, one of the games they sent wasn't the one I ordered, it was actually a much more expensive game (2 disc metal case special edition of The Force Unleashed). I told them about it, they sincerely apologized, then immediately shipped out the game I ordered while letting me keep the more expensive game. I have nothing but good things to say about the company. It's too bad that sensationalist videos like this end up harming good companies.
Ebay’s global shipping costs are so high that I usually order my American games from Lukie instead of Ebay. My experience has been decent so far. I’m not interested in the mainstream stuff they overprice.
Never had a bad buy with them. Gotten over 50 products. Mind you, it was all PS2 stuff, but all the stuff I've had was complete in case, with booklets, and tbe CDs are flawless
Austin, I bet these clowns at Lukie got systems from the remants of hurricanes, floods, and tropical storms from the Miami area and claim they cleaned them. For $190, I would have flew to Miami, went to Lukie and throw the systems right back at them. That PS3 was pathetic for the price and dont get me started in the Nintendo-less logo DS that was 3x the price of a perfectly fine system. The hell were they thinking!
They like to buy in bulk off ebay... like as in they bought games off my ebay account. I've had to sell stuff cus need food. They only buy the stuff that's heavily discounted and/or in bulk. Like I get it, but I'm also living off ramen rn. It def didn't feel good to see it relisted as much much higher. Sadly ebay doesn't have buyers any more, just resellers. Clicked through this because ya know... just had this happen to me.
For context on the pricing, they automatically update them daily based on supply and demand, so it isn’t a stretch to say Austin drove up the Lukie Games console prices because he bought some lol. That being said, wait long enough and some games will eventually be a decent deal. Consoles though? Cheaper, but still marked up.
I've generally had good experiences with Lukie Games. As a Canadian gamer, I often get screwed on shipping rates when buying retro games on eBay. Lukie Games is one of the few outlets that still has reasonable shipping rates, which aren't the same or more than the game itself. They're packaged well, they arrive promptly, and while a few of their prices are out to lunch, they're generally good value. Their customer service is also pretty decent. I once ordered Chameleon Twist for N64, and they accidentally sent me Chameleon Twist 2. When I pointed this out, they issued me a refund, and said I didn't need to send back the old game. So I went ahead and bought Chameleon Twist from them again. 🤭 I never buy systems from them, though. That's mostly because I don't trust buying systems online. Get systems locally, get games from Lukie.
Calling them worse then DKOldies is a little too far fetched at least they actually test there consoles unlike DKOldies and have way better prices then DKOldies even though there expensive
I don't even bother with Nintendo stuff anymore. Not only are they way less interesting to me than the realms less explored or talked about to death on TH-cam like Sega, Sony, SNK, NEC and all the retro computers out there, but they're by far the most overpriced stuff in retro game collecting. A 1-2 punch of "yeah, I don't care anymore".
I wouldn't have heard of DKoldies or Lukie if TH-cam people didn't review them. Dkoldies also has a very big social media presence. If you look up retro games, the algorithm would've probably fed you their videos at some point
Just a little note, my dear Austin. I'm a technician in consoles, and i must clarify someting, those lines aren't from ambience humidity, those are most common for simple cleaning works when they use like a toothbrush and some liquid like windex or cleaning foam and then blating it with a duster or compresed air. Ambience humidity sfreads like a mist, and dont leave tracks. So most likely they just cleaned the console from outside witouth replacing thermal paste

Top-loader NES consoles weren't less *popular*, they were less *populous*. They came out after the SNES came out and had a much smaller run than the toaster model. Love your channel, just make sure you get the facts straight. Also, I've had to resub at least three times in a year.
NES top loaders came with dog-bone controllers that were more ergonomic like a Super Nintendo controller. If you paid a premium and got square OG NES controllers, that sucks! I mean, yeah at least they're real NES controllers but I'd expect dog-bone controllers for that price.
I think the funniest part about this video is the end with the price of that ps3 but I remember when I saw the sucker for like $50 before at a gamestop
The old consoles and games were so fun back then. I remember waiting in line 24 hours for xbox 360 . Me and my mom and dad all slept in the van taking turns waiting in line. I was number 15 in line and there was only 16 of them.
Unfortunately lots of big sellers bid on games that are cheap and usually win . With that said lukie games sells gameboy cases for the cheapest out of anyone ive probably bought 50 from them
The toploader NES isn't a terrible deal. The console alone goes for $150 on ebay, and when you throw in a $5-10 game, a zapper hookups and controllers worth about $25-30, that's a $175-190ish value, so that's not bad at all.
Original copies of Pokemon Sapphire are very expensive. There is a company making reproductions for like 20 dollars. Make sure they aren't repos. I thought it was scam price too until I check all the listings and they say "repro" somewhere hidden in the text.
on the Xbox 360, if you want to help prevent the "red ring" you should RE-PASTE the CPU and also do the "12 volt mod" for the fans. 5v was just to keep them quiet but the really need 12v to keep the system cool even though it is definitely noisier.
I've literally never even seen or heard of the top loader NES. It looks like one of those fake generic game emulator consoles that has 20 games installed on it and none of them are any good.

How the fuck did you get an NES game from Gamestop
Anyways, only roughly 730 games to go!
I'm pretty sure you just have to blow on them. That worked for my entire childhood.

Honestly I’ve bought games from them for years. Only bought one console but it was a ds lite that came in good condition and was only like 60 bucks and I’ve never had any issues with them. The console prices are high, but the game prices are good compared to eBay for most games
Same I've bought like 50+ PS2 games from them and they all came in immaculate condition
Though I wouldn't expect less considering they have the most expensive disc resurfacer on the market
I've also bought a few GBC and DS games from them didn't have any issues with them either, labels and cartridges were in good condition
Back to the PS2 games I'd also like to point out every single game came complete with all the original paperwork and or additional disc's including demo disc's and promotional boxes
@@P_D-px6ivthe biggest purchases I made from them is a GBA SP Dreamcast RE 2 and 3 and Mega Man X2 which was going for 250$ at the time and they all showed up in excellent condition
you know why the price jumped up right? they are probably using a "dynamic system" depending on if one sold recently and current inventory it is set to up the price and "decay" back down to there minimum. I got a ps3 from them and it works great, if you sell millions of products you will get some that don't work.
Same, games are great 99% of the time. And I bought a ps2 from them and it's been working fine for 2 years.
That transfer pak probably didn’t work because of that third party controller
Just another reason why emulation is a good thing.
I am pretty sure their website dynamically adjusts the prices to get the max possible. So if something goes unsold for X time they decrease till it sells and if its popular they increase it until it stops selling and then drop it back down.

He did in fact reference and showed the blade interface briefly at 15:24 and said he liked that one a lot better...as did i...although, he basically created a brick for himself since he doesn't want to update it.😄
first of all, it's not called "the blade 💀". technically, it doesn't have a name but people know it as "Blades". and second of all, that's not what is on that 360. that's NXE.

With the super slim PS3 here it looks like someone dropped soda next to the console and it got inside.

I’m a buyer on eBay. I buy to use, not to sell.
People with the name Luke: Whats wrong with that name? ( My name is also Luke.)
I never buy systems from them, though. That's mostly because I don't trust buying systems online. Get systems locally, get games from Lukie.
Same , the free shipping is why I buy from them. Never had any issues.
Dang you got a deal lol, Twist 2 goes for more than the OG
Calling them worse then DKOldies is a little too far fetched at least they actually test there consoles unlike DKOldies and have way better prices then DKOldies even though there expensive
It almost sounds like they raise the price each time someone buys something and see how hight they can sell an item for.
All those 200 dollar consoles you could just buy a new switch lite.

Please open them and see if they're clean or not
on the Xbox 360, if you want to help prevent the "red ring" you should RE-PASTE the CPU and also do the "12 volt mod" for the fans. 5v was just to keep them quiet but the really need 12v to keep the system cool even though it is definitely noisier.
