She's just an animatronic prototype, so there's lots of things that make her design needlessly difficult and expensive to build right now, but if you want to jump in based on my files, go ahead! As much as I would love to help out, I have to focus on building more cool things for the channel, so you'll have to work on your own. I don't have time to answer questions about how to build her.

To get the camera *and* the glowing eye, you can use a semi-transparent mirror. The round LCD is on the side of the viewing axle, the mirror in the middle at a 45° angle, and the camera behind.

Would it be possible for Glados to track a face and look at it? That would be creepy and cool at the same time!
if you can code i guess an facial recog app and a old cell phone or laptop cam could do it, but only a guess.

GLaDOS' head is around 213.36 cm tall (I did the measurements in-game), so I assume that would be a big project in itself.

I absolutely love this, i think you making a life-sized GLaDOS would definitely blow your channel up to like 100x it's size because of how many Portal and Valve fans would love to see something like this. Valve's official "turret in real-life" 1 minute video has over 7 million views.
This is also inspiring me to make some Portal characters irl (like Wheatley) even tho i don't have the money or the space to make them. Also what are some tips for someone starting out with engineering (coming from a programming background) wanting to make big projects like these?
:D If you start Twitch streaming you might be able to start taking donation's and can start saving up for the GLaDOS body. I think it would be awesome if you worked on different project's on stream, then you can take in donation's for the body. I for sure would come and watch to see your other project's. or you could also pull off the greatest scheme in the multiverse give other universe's the blueprints to the test chamber's. once they build them we steal it. look at that sad octopus. -Cave Johnson (its close enough)

integrating a camera into the eye and then running said inverse kinematics + facial/movement recognition for whole room tracking would make for a pretty creepy/cool idea. love the build. keep it up dude.

Just stumbled upon your youtube channel. Man I remember looking over your instructables when I was in my pre teens wishing I had the money and enginuity. That wrist watch was my favorite and there was something else, might have been a apple ][ watch. I also spyed the Apple monitor /// in the show of GlaDos and LOST clock in this one. Sweet stuff man.

This is so cool. Thanks for keeping Aperture Laboratories alive. I'm currently on my own trying to make a glados sounding text-to-speech bot but it is so hard to get a voice sounding like her in all context.

Bro how did I just find this channel, all I've seen so far are essentially miniature or puppet versions of either glados or wheatley but you plan on making a full glados to scale? Jesus that must take AGES

If you ever did make a full body version maybe you could try to store up all the pieces of her torso in different sections so that way whenever special occasion comes like theme park or attraction you can set her up from the section of pieces of her torso? Plus it’s easier for travel.

For a place to build full scale GLaDOS maybe you could show the current one you made to some museums like a robotics museum or something. Then they would probably love to let you build her into an exhibit room. Imagine walking into a museum and being greeted by GLaDOS in the check in desk room place that would be freaking awesome! Maybe even get a tour of the museum by a core! The tour core lol
It would take a redesign. I know last thing you want to hear lol. But you could probably make the camera and the lcd eye both be the same hole. Using peppers ghost / one way mirror tricks.
