That nib is referred to as a “music” nib made for those who transcribed musical notation. They can make quarter notes fine. But I find making longer lines with them can be problematic. A regular fine flex stub nib works better for me. I’ve known Nathan (the genius behind noodlersink) for over thirty years and he’s a character.

Thank you so much for having a giveaway Peter, and Noodler. I am new to fountain pens, but have been practicing calligraphy for over a year (not religiously, but when I get the chance, and when I feel up to it. I'm disabled so I can't be diligent like that with pretty much anything 😖) and have just recently gotten my first non-dip, pens. Now they are Staedler Calligraphy set pens, and I am so grateful to my mother in law for getting them for me, but I don't reeeeeally count them as fountain pens. And boy do I ever want one. This pen is pretty much everything I want in a pen. A good flex, refillable (the Staedler ones come with cartridges) and I love that they're clear! I know the chances of winning are super low, but I really wanted to tell you how grateful I am that you're even giving me the chance to win, and why it means as much to me as it does. So thank you again, truly, Peter ^-^.
Noodling is very dangerous! It involves sticking your hand in a catfish bed (where the females lay their eggs) to trigger a reaction in the bedding catfish that is naturally directed towards predators. The catfish will completely engulf your hand, in which case you will grab onto its gills from the inside and haul it completely out of the water, greatly increasing the possibility of drowning. Catfish can be extremely heavy and aggressive making this especially difficult, not to mention that their mouth is full of grinder plates that will rip at your skin the whole time and they have find as sharp as knives which they'll try to stab you with. You don't want to mess with catfish like that unless you know what you're doing, and even if you do know what to do you can still mess up if the catfish has already moved out of its bed and something like a snapping turtle or an alligator there instead. Basically noodling is not recommended unless you have a death wish.

Creat some kinda cool Japanese looking cool art or something. Idk. Ha! I remember that smell reaction, I saw it fairly recently. I actually thought you broke yourself. And couldn’t understand why on earth you keep smelling it haha. Didn’t know a neck could bend those directions. ;) You should get the most thin tipped pen you can find like a .001 or something crazy and draw a photo under magnification. Maybe a 4”x4” drawing or something. That’s be pretty impressive if you ended up filling a whole page in that way. I’ve actually tinkered with that with one of those old people full page magnifiers before. It really did make a difference once I looked it it under normal vision. Anyway just a thought. This is like my third edit as I’m watching your video. Love that pen! The three parts look neat! Great videos (and art!) though dude. It’s been really inspiring me to toss the idea about myself.
Noodling is where you dig around in deep holes along banks in rivers for catfish. If a catfish is nesting under that rock or in the hole it'll bite your hand and you pinch its lip and pull em out.
You can get some .002" brass shims to floss the nib slits in fountain pens to take care of lint and fibers and stuff. Brass is soft enough that it won't damage the gold or steel in fountain pen nibs, but it's rigid enough to really clean out the tines. A lot of pen stores, including Goulet, will sell them if you can't find them in hobby stores, etc.
There is actually blotting paper for wet ink. It is a blue-greyish rather rough paper. You can place it on the wet spots and it immediately sucks up all surplus ink. No risk of smudging anymore.
Probably the reason that you want to use red ink as athe highlight and blue as the base is because warm colors naturally appear closer and cool colors look further back when they're used in contrast to create depth. You might know that already but i think it's neat.
The whole time he was fuzz fighting, I was internally screaming “JUST DRAW WITH IT ON REGULAR PAPER! IT’S TRAPPED BECAUSE THE TINES ARE CLAMPING IT!” Omg. I don’t usually associate Peter videos with anxiety attacks.
