I feel that people think of camping as roughing it. Not having any comforts. Or mistake backpacking for camping. I hope that I can show that like anything else - it is what you make it.
I love this setup it puts my mind at ease to see camp life done so well n comfortably it helps my confidence because I'm trying to go off grid in 20 yrs n I just like seeing how everybody else is doing the camp life
You could live here for a long time! It seems you've thought of everything. Now, in retrospect, what would you change/delete/add? My biggest question is where do you put everything while travelling? I guess most go in the car top carrier. What does your car look like all packed up? Thanks for sharing as you gave me some fresh ideas and perspective.
Ha! Yup - I could be here for a long time and be comfortable. Great timing on your question. I posted a video of the setup when everything is inside. th-cam.com/video/tRKXt6K9XPw/w-d-xo.html What I changed is that I got an RV mat so if it rains I won’t have puddles and mud to deal with. I also got a Coleman instant screen room which is easier to put up than the 10x10 canopy - except it isn’t waterproof. I suspect that at some point I would have to get one of those expensive Clam screen rooms that is water proof and easy to assemble. I’ll be making a video of the setup I’m in this week that has those items. So subscribe!
Nope! I haven't had any issue there. I did have some leaking around the seams where the two colors meet and I used GearAid seam sealer to seal the seams inside the tent. amzn.to/44sI8Cw
For this setup - both tents took a little over 1/2 hour since I was alone. The 10x10 EZ UP is more difficult than the SUV tent since there isn’t someone to hold the other size and pull it open. I have to stake it down then pull the opposite corner. The rest of the setup goes by quickly once I decide where to put everything. In total, I’d say about an hour and a half. This was my first time doing this setup - should be quicker the next time.
Good morning, and thank you for your video. Can you tell me about the little solar panels you have on top of the car and also clipped to the awning? I'd love a link, if you have one.
Great set up but WAY too much stuff for me in the simple version of travelling/sleeping in a Prius. No longer interested in heavy, bulky 'stuff'. Might be ok to camp in one spot for lengthy periods of time but for travelling where one only stays one night in places, this is just not convenient.
I totally agree with you, if you're only setting up for one night this is way too much work to setup and take down the next day. It is great as a base camp where you're setup for at least a few days or more.
Very well thought out! I believe in convenient camping! Not everyone wants to rough to the fullest. I could definitely hang out in this set-up! 🙌🏽
HA! I have no intention of roughing it. I don't need every comfort of home, but I do want to be comfortable.
@@shortybiscuit Exactly! 😁🙌🏽
You are now my official camping guru!!! This, is how you camp! 👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾💯💯💯

Great video. Gave me lots of great ideas. Do you have more info / link for the iPad holder?

Pool noodles! Smart!!!
They really do help to keep the water from pooling on top.
Yessss! Agreed! I’ve never seen that before! Love it!
Do you have problems with rain leaking around your SUV tent sleeve?
Nope! I haven't had any issue there. I did have some leaking around the seams where the two colors meet and I used GearAid seam sealer to seal the seams inside the tent. amzn.to/44sI8Cw
About how long does it take you to get set up?

Hi! The solar panels power the lights. They come as part of the package. amzn.to/3voDyVu
