Coleman Pack-Away Portable Camp Kitchen: Assembly and use
A couple years ago I got this portable Coleman Camp Kitchen just before going on a 6-week road trip because I knew I’d be in places where there wasn’t going to be a table. Since then I've used it a few times and it works well. Assembly takes a few minutes and when disassembled it is compact and all the pieces fit inside of it.

It's here! EcoFlow River 3 Plus Power Station Unboxing and First Impressions
มุมมอง 51321 วันที่ผ่านมา
EcoFlow recently released their River 3 series of power stations and I’m here for it. The initial release was the River 3 with 300W of power and a 245Wh battery. This new River 3 Plus is 600W and a 286Wh battery. You may think that the battery is small and not much better than the River 3 - BUT! That’s where the EB300 and EB600 extra batteries comb in. The River 3 plus is an expandable power st...

After many failed attempts and scheduling changes, I finally got to try out Paddleboarding. What a fun experience! I managed to easily stand up and stay balanced on the board. Until…suddenly I lost my balance and down I went! Smooth sailing after that and I’m looking forward to doing it again. Now, I need to get my own board and find places that I can use it. Next up, canoeing. As canoe instruc...

Nope. I ordered this from Amazon when it was released.
Make sure you lock those table legs before putting anything on it.
Yup! I noted that in the video :) (1:51)
Great review. Thank you
You’re welcome!
Thanks for the video and sharing with us.
Came here from the SUV/ Car Camping FB group. Saw you post the video and I’ve been needing a kitchen set-up. Thanks for sharing.
Glad I could help! It is very easy to assemble and disassemble and all the parts fit inside the table when its folded. Good amount of room for stoves, etc. and it's not too big to store or carry.

Keep it up watching in Grenada
I need to get one to Trinidad!
So it could have gone all the way with the expansion battery. I think this is a good station for basics, lights, tv, cell phone charging, laptop. For cooking its best to have 1000wh minimum or better. Since this 3 Plus is the newbie im sure the bigger inverters with this technology are on the way. It's super cute though. Cant beat the introductory price right now.
Agreed. It is perfect keeping small stuff charged like phones, tablets, cameras, etc. Even the small dash mini appliance would work well with it. A nice small size that's easy to carry. The extra battery then extends how long you can be off grid. If you need to power things like stoves, you should be using something like the Delta Series to do that. Very nice price indeed.
WOW!! This is so cool! 😊
Right! When they first announced that someone was going to show us how to do quilling I was like what the heck is that? It was really really cool.
Thanks for sharing this😋
You're welcome! Hope you get to try some baking while camping. It smells soooooo good!
Agreed! That is why we are making room for a Campchef oven. The smell of baking bread is sooooooo worth it 😁🤗
Great instructional video and easy to see how these work. Thanks so much :)
The worst thing is, now EcoFlow is out of these brackets, so I love it, but can't get it :(
They are often out of stock on these. I ordered a 2nd one last month after waiting for it to be back in stock. Keep checking back. If I see it in stock I’ll comment again.
@@shortybiscuit You ROCK! Thank you my friend :)
Great vid, your demonstration of the installation was clear and not intimidating, it is also a pleasure to see a woman of African descent in the power station space.
Aweee. Thanks. I appreciate the feedback.
Odd that it shut off with 7% battery remaining. Did you try charging it up and discharging it again to see if it would actually go down all the way to 0%. Another TH-camr also said it cut off at 10% for them. Seems that a common issue? While X-Boost is made for stuff with heating elements, that InstaPot also has a microcontroller. X-Boost works by reducing voltage to keep wattage within 600W. That microcontroller might not like its voltage being reduced.
I did charge it up again, but have not had the opportunity to run it down again. At 7% the screen did show 1 minute left and within that minute it shut down. When I turned it back on (without any power draw) it stayed at 6% for a while before I started charging it again. True - the microcontroller on the Instant Pot might not. But, it did cycle on/off as expected throughout the cooking time. At some points it did go to at least 603W. The instant pot is rated for 700W. I can certainly test with the Delta 2 to see what the actual power draw is when not using X-boost.
Great review 👍
Thanks!
Awesome review! Thanks!
Thanks! Appreciate it.
Loving your channel ❤ !!! Great video, as I have the River 3 plus on order. I also own the Ecoflow Delta 2 and the 100w & 220w solar panels. Ecoflow will send me the 45w solar panels for free with my order as advertised on their website.
@@andrewade7017 I ordered on Amazon before I saw the deal with the 45W panel. I also have the Delta 2 and River 2 Pro along with a 100W (not portable) and the original 220W. I may need to get more panels! But, the Alternator Charger surely makes up for having less panels.
Great review, and cooking demo. Learned something today-pot-in-pot! Love it! Thanks
I love that cooking method! I use it for oats, quinoa, potatoes... I have some stainless steel bowls that have covers, so they come out of the pressure cooker and can get covered and go into the fridge. No pot to wash :)
Great review! I have a bunch of EcoFlow units already but I think I may go for one of these with the extra battery for camping. Really great to have that extra capacity in a small space. I also never knew that an Instant Pot uses no power once it gets to pressure! Great to know that!
@@MrsRubens it’s pretty small, so it is easy to move around. The extra battery would be good to have as well. No one ever complained about extra battery capacity 😀. This is my 3rd EcoFlow power station and I’m strongly considering one of the Extra batteries for this River 3 Plus. I’ve found that the pressure cooker and even the Dash mini appliances work that way - they don’t pull power the entire time. They turn on and off to regulate the temperature/pressure.
Damn. I’m hungry now. Great video review!
Thanks. Since I mostly use them to power devices for camping, so the best way for me to test is to cook! Everything else is a bonus. :) I followed this recipe and as you can see, it is pretty easy to make. Leftovers for lunch today. littlesunnykitchen.com/shrimp-and-broccoli/

@@RumorHasIt4444 Rockpals doesn’t exist anymore unfortunately. I’m able to do this with my EcoFlow power stations as well.
@ Have you done a test on any of the Hamilton crockpots? I’m curious about the wattage?
@RumorHasIt4444 I haven’t. I gave mine away when I got my Instant Pot and Ninja Foodi. If you have one, you can check the label to see what the max Watts is.
Wow what a nice find. How many blends on one charge?
I’ve done a few consecutively without issue. I’m not sure the max. Probably depends on how much work it’s doing each time. When you press the button it runs for 30 seconds at a time then shuts off. If you need more time, press again for another 30 seconds.
Great return.
Those look really good, and makes your panels look good. Very good video, thanks. A whole lot better than the bag. Now you think they would work with the 160 watts panels?
Yup! I think they'd work with just about any panel. I got the 2nd one to use with my 100W rigid panel. Even though it comes in pairs to support the folding panels, you could actually use a single stand by itself and that's possibly what I'll do for the 100W.
That's exactly what I was looking for. Tha k your for the review
Glad I could help. You’ll love it.
Thanks for sharing, very simple setup overall and well done. Just amazing that amount of power to charge them all up.
It’s intimidating to think about, but very easy to do.

I watched your video on the Camp Chef oven awhile back and I pulled the trigger and bought it. No regrets. I got a baking recipe book and I had a lot of fun with it. Now, the only problem I had was that as I got older, my mobility became an issue. I have to say old age can be a challenge. So, now I am thinking about the Coleman camp oven. Would you say you would always use the Coleman from now on? My thinking is that it depends on the trip and what and who you are cooking for. I would appreciate your thoughts on this. The Coleman is so lightweight but cooking with it seems to have its own quirks. I am waiting for your opinion before I end up buying it. Thanks for your feedback. Best wishes.
Hi! I’d say it depends on the trip. I love the Camp Chef oven and as you know it’s not small or lightweight. If I have the space and I plan to bake a good amount of food, I’d take the camp chef. If space is an issue, I’d take the Coleman. I now have a dedicated BBQ thermometer in my camping kit so that I could monitor temperature in either one. Just like the Camp Chef, there would be a learning curve on time and temperature, but definitely doable. You’d need smaller pans that would fit through the door and realize that you won’t be able to bake as many things at the same time. I’ve baked biscuits, cookies, scalloped potatoes and other things in it without an issue - just keep an eye on it.
@@shortybiscuit Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly. You are so kind. I don't take trips like I did when I was younger so, all the camping stuff I bought will be brought out in my backyard and I can pretend I am out in the mountains or foothills and I can cook and bake and entertain my nieces. Thank you for your inspiration. I am from Alberta, Canada by the way. I hope I got your team right so, Go! Kansas City Chiefs! Eventually, I'll add the Coleman camp oven to my collection. Thank you very much!
@boblem5994 great idea! Especially when it’s hot in the summer you can do all the cooking outside and not heat up the house. The Coleman oven goes on sale sometimes. I set an alert on camelcamelcamel.com/ that lets me know when it’s on sale.
Have you monitored how many amps youre pulling when charging and driving from your alternator? I have an odyssey and its a 130amp alternator, been told not to run it more than half load for extended times. In my case id be at 65 amps to be safe, which is 800w, however that doesnt include what the van pulls itself to keep everything else on, so in my case id probably need to lower the charging speed to 400w so it only draws around 33amps + whatever else the car pulls normally to stay on and drive. Any thoughts or concerns youve read?
Hmmm. How exactly would I figure out how many amps I’m pulling? I have seen the topic mentioned in the EcoFlow FB group and haven’t yet tried to figure that out.
Super impressed!!!
Thanks!

It looked like the yellow plastic went outside the gromet rather than punching a hole through it. If that's the case the wires will rub on the edge of the hole and eventually short out when the insulation gets cut all the way through. Otherwise good job, hard spot to reach.
Correct! The yellow plastic did indeed go outside the grommet during the testing. For the true install, I punctured a hole in the grommet for the exact reason you mentioned.
Just a suggestion the cable lead should be under the alarm cable tap on the battery since it needs a better connection to the battery leads more so than the small alarm cable. This is a common mistake in solar battery installations. Just a precaution bc that point will get hot especially inside an engine bay
Good suggestion. I'll make adjustments.
