Good job sir....I love your build, looks like a lot of work and dedication. Very inspiring indeed,....I’m thinking about doing this to my pilot as well. Thanks for sharing 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you. Sometimes I think I'd love a Dodge Ram and then just throw a camper on the back. But you know, you always want something else. Nothing is perfect. The Honda gets the job done. Enjoy your adventures!
I just made them out of screen which I bought at the hardware store. And then I used corrugated plastic to create a frame which I simply wedge in the window sill... With a Little Help from Velcro.
@@CalvinHikes Thanks! I ended up using self-adhesive magnets (on a roll), sandwiching screen material across the top and bottom of the windows. Looked great but on one side of the car it fell apart in the sun, and the other side, in the rain! No joke. How did you attach your screen material to the plastic frame?
@@CalvinHikes I am wanting to make window screens for my 2007 Honda Pilot, primarily if I need to leave my dog in the car for a little bit. Any chance you can me more descriptive on how you did this? Video maybe? I want something strong enough HE can't break out, and someone can't break in!
Thick corrugated plastic. I cut the forms to fit in the window frames, then cut out window holes within/inside the frames. Then basically glued/taped screen on the plastic. Then covered it with carpet so it would look and feel cozy. Of all the things that work or don't work... whatever you can do to screen windows is super helpful for good bug-free ventilation.
Thanks. This took some TIIIIIIME! But the process was fun. I do make kits for pick up truck pop-up campers. Cheaper and better than ANY other product... with the downside of not being 100% automated.
I don't camp on super hot days. But I am willing to turn the car on and run the air conditioner. I have several battery powered fans. And I also have some really big cold packs that I freeze and then I just lay on in the bed. But most the time where I camp it's fairly comfortable temperature. Plus with the moonroof and for Windows down they all have screens. And the tailgate has a big screen. And battery powered fans.
this is great! what did you do with your second row seats after you pulled them out? what tires are you running? i have the same generation pilot and my camper build left a lot to be desired after my last trip. the way you did yours looks amazing!
Thank you. I've just left the seats out. If I need to go on a trip with the family I can just bolt them back down. I run all-season radials for tires. Nothing special. I don't do any heavy off roading.
Calvin Hikes yes. I agree. I have a 2014 Pilot and I have my back seats in and reclined and I can sit up from my waist from laying down-but it’s close. I’m debating if I should remove my back seats to get more head room. Idk.
Time and energy! I've ended up Home Building several campers for my truck and rigs. It's fun to build. Fun to make improvements but I tell you what, there's something to be said for just throwing out a tent!
You know whatever works! I'm not even sure this is the absolute best way to go camping. Probably just a pickup truck in a tent would work fine but it's so fun constructing things if you have the time and resources.
Great Job! Have an 06 pilot. You’re ideas are great.
Very cool build man! incredible really.
Thanks. It was super fun to build. I learned a lot, honestly.
Well done! And you did it all by yourself. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching. The build is the most fun part.

Looks clean and cozy
Pants! Thanks buddy. We'll have to go camping sometime in it.
LOL, that, is from my other channel.
You have a positive attitude. I appreciate it. GG sir
Man, incredible job. I like it.
Thank you. It was fun to think through and build.
Cool man. I have a dodge ram van i go do all my bum adventure in! Great job on the production end too.

That's brilliant, another great video
Wow,)
You did a Amazing job
Thank you! It was fun to build and try to think through.
Looks good. Looks like a lot of hard work.
Awesome video!
Thank you!
Pretty sweet Calvin!
Thank you!
great video bro!
So cool!
Thank you!
Not a lot of Pilots , we love our too. Thanks
No there is not a lot of Pilots out there fix for camping. But essentially, you just lay down in the back and it's fine
By the way I'm from Tennessee keep on caving
wow that is really cool man!
Appreciate it!
This i so amazing I wish I could do this to my pilot
You can. Once you lose the fear of destroying your vehicle you can just start cutting and doing what you want! Anyways thanks for watching
Satisfaction 👍
Thank you. Very inspiring
Very cool!
Very cool did you build it yourself
Yes.
So cool!! Thanks for the video. What did you use for your window screens? I'm semi-converting my '03 Pilot and that's the step I'm on
I just made them out of screen which I bought at the hardware store. And then I used corrugated plastic to create a frame which I simply wedge in the window sill... With a Little Help from Velcro.

Heck yeah! How'd you do the window screens?

I'm a very new SUV owner. This idea looks amazing. Nice job! Too bad you don't offer kits for us to buy!

Very nice atb
Hey man, great video. How you keep it cool when sleeping during summer?

Answered from my other account... but this is me.
Did you mention how tall you are?
I don't think I did. I'm 5-9 so not too tall. I think if you were over 6 foot moving around inside a small cabin would get a bit more uncomfortable.

whats the U Zero on your shirt?
University of Oregon! Go Ducks! ; )
What is that grille called? Any links for it?
Its custom. It's just some plastic grid I bought and then cut and bolted into place.
@@CalvinHikes wow nice. Looks so legit I thought it was a manufactured product. Good job man.
Dope !
I want one :( where can I get one for mine

Where you get the upper grill?
I made it! I don't remember where I got the plastic from but I shaped it and molded it.
GO DUCKS!
Yell O
What is it? Brand model etc?
2007 Honda Pilot.
Pretty involved and a lot of room. But you lost the seats in the car to do it.
As with all builds, compromises abound.
Nevermind
This SUV looks decent there's actual idiots on TH-cam that would used a car instead.
