@@moh.syafrianabie8899 I mean, assuming Marisa, Yuuka, and mima's routes happen after Reimu's, I feel like the reason the Makai residents are afraid of Marisa, Yuuka, and Mima is because of the fact that they've already dealt with Reimu and thus wouldn't have expected 3 other beings from Gensokyo to attack them in a row. @zhulov3rz You can actually get rid of the input lag by properly configuring the emulator. I think the most important thing with Anex86 is selecting "sync" in the config and setting it to "1".
Canonically Byakuren was sealed away in Hokkai, which is a part of Makai (You know, Shinki's world). So the chance that they met and that Shinki taught her Devil's Recitation is pretty high.
***** I honestly haven't ever heard that stuff about (the dimension) Makai (is located in) collapsing in on itself during/after the fight with Shinki (nor can I find any sources backing up your statement that it did)... In fact, I even find it highly unlikely that it did. First of all since, after the events of Mystic Square, Reimu tries to talk Shinki into putting a stop to all of the denizens of Makai coming to Gensoukyou and secondly because the PCs visit Makai in UFO... I really don't think what you said earlier, about Hokkai being located "above" Shinki's Makai, makes any sense, either. If it's "above" Shinki's Makai in a sense where you can say that "the two as a whole is referred to as Makai", then it'd still be located in the same dimension. I.e., Hokkai would also have gone buh-bye along with Shinki's Makai... (I also cannot find any sources backing up your claim that ZUN has said Shinki lied about being a god.)
GrahamChapman The very first scene displayed immediately after beating Shinki is of her accepting her defeat at the hands of [insert character here] with an anime-style bump on her head. Torgo SupaFine just lives in their own void of fanon. Don't waste your time debating the trolls. ;)
rollanddev Well, it's quite common within the Touhou community that the fandom gets the canon and fanon mixed up to various degrees (especially when it comes to the PC-98 games and how, or IF, they fit in with the main series' continuty). But, yeah, I guess I might as well ignore them. ^^'
Everyone is talking about Byaruken in these comments... My question...since Shinki destroys Makai, her own world, during this battle, how is Byaruken even IN Makai supposing Windows canon is after PC-98 canon? Or maybe Windows canon is the true prequel... Also, I know Byaruken was sealed 1000 years before UFO, I'm saying at the point of the battle.
***** Simple. Pc-98 is non-canon. So none of this actually happened. Only what is said in Windows is true. The characters still existed and everything, but none of the events took place. It's like a child's imagination. Which might actually be what it is, considering Reimu and Marisa were just kids at the time.
Officer Shinki Okay, I suppose that makes a lot more sense then it actually being canon. That doesn't explain how Byaruken even knew about Shinki's spell in the first place, but it's better than a lot of theories I've heard.
***** As I said, all of it still exists, but the events never happened. There's still a Shinki and a Makai. So it's still very possible that Shinki taught the spell to Byakuren.
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but that really doesn't look like human and youkai. If it looks like anything of yukari's, it looks like a very weak boundary of life and death. It looks a good deal more like a prototype of "Iwakasa's Moon Curse" to me...

Unpopular opinion: I love PC-98 games, graphics, bgms and characters no matter the difficulty. Don't get me wrong, I love those aesthetic graphics regardless of the flaws, modern graphics wouldn't fit in such old games due to hardware limitations and because windows didn't reach Japan at that moment. I'd love to see those characters back in Touhou 20 assuming it came out, yes ?
Maximum value in the 90s game was 99m back then. Any attempts to bypass the max would change the integer value to something unusual better than crashing.
So in PC-98 the spellcard rules didn't exist until Touhou 6 Basically they're fighting for life and death right here. I mean, Reimu as a human and a powerful ass shrine maiden she'd actually stand a chance against Shinki even without spellcard rules.
This also applies to Marisa, which is surprising, given how weak she sees herself in the Windows games. And then there's Yuuka. She stomps Shinki and asks for a better fight.
Well, in the sense that it never actually _focused_ your firepower, no, there wasn't focus until Touhou 6. But in Touhou 4 and Touhou 5 you could still hold down shift to slow your movements.

Helio Knight Ikr? they say anex86 is pure shit.
***** IDK, I'll try later, thanks ; )
Remember T98-Next, it's really good
4 years late but you have the right setup?
Tbf it runs smoothly on my laptop with windows 7 and 8.1 but it could be a skill issue since I'm unable to 1cc normal mode for once, I just want to unlock the extra stage.
@zhulov3rz You can actually get rid of the input lag by properly configuring the emulator. I think the most important thing with Anex86 is selecting "sync" in the config and setting it to "1".

Dang I can't believe ZUN stole Sinoc's pattern of the Devil Recitation lel
Shinki and Byakuren, both in the Makai.
Well, Byaruken is Shinki reincarnated, most of her damanku powers came from touhou 5.

Wow... Did Byakuren get that attack too? I have a feeling many characters in the windows era and up got revamped spell cards from these older games.
Canonically Byakuren was sealed away in Hokkai, which is a part of Makai (You know, Shinki's world). So the chance that they met and that Shinki taught her Devil's Recitation is pretty high.
***** if she could create Makai, she can survive its destruction.
*****
I honestly haven't ever heard that stuff about (the dimension) Makai (is located in) collapsing in on itself during/after the fight with Shinki (nor can I find any sources backing up your statement that it did)...
GrahamChapman
The very first scene displayed immediately after beating Shinki is of her accepting her defeat at the hands of [insert character here] with an anime-style bump on her head. Torgo SupaFine just lives in their own void of fanon. Don't waste your time debating the trolls. ;)
rollanddev
Well, it's quite common within the Touhou community that the fandom gets the canon and fanon mixed up to various degrees (especially when it comes to the PC-98 games and how, or IF, they fit in with the main series' continuty). But, yeah, I guess I might as well ignore them. ^^'
Ayy yooo PC-98 bois are on another level 💀👍
Kaguya might be easy, but those final spells.... *shivers*
***** Windows rebooted the series and thus PC-98 is only canon when Windows refers to it.
kirby krew It's still very confusing xD
I only now notice that one of yuyu's attacks is similar to shinkis attack at 0:59
basically in 2:18 youkai satan is the original and youkai jesus remade it
2:14 I've seen this in one of Byakuren's spells... Ha, nevermind, I played TH12 before seeing this.
A beutiful boss battle overall
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but that really doesn't look like human and youkai. If it looks like anything of yukari's, it looks like a very weak boundary of life and death. It looks a good deal more like a prototype of "Iwakasa's Moon Curse" to me...
Shinki isn't a youkai or a human. She's a goddess, and she literally made all of Makai by herself.
@Irrenhaus3 ...More like Byakuren's spellcard has Shinki written all over it.
that second to the last attack, its the same as Hijiri's.
Why does this look like and sound like a sega genesis? No joke.
The PC-98 probably had similar (if not slightly superior) capabilities. I really don't know much about it.
The pc98 uses YM2608 (opna) chip
and the Sega genesis uses YM2612 (opn2) chip
huh, i just noticed her attack at 1:53 is just like sanae's 'daytime guest stars' in touhou 10 :O
This makes Byakuren look so easy.
That score though.

Bro knows how to convert hexadecimal to normal integer. Correct answer
Humans shouldn't be capable of such amazing feats. xD Way to go!
2:20 Byakuren
Byakuren stole the precious spellcard
See ~
Byakuren feel like Marisa XD
Someone needs to do a Byakuren and Shinki ver of Marisa Stole the Precious Thing now
XDDDDD
Glitchy Woona ...Except it's more likely Shinki taught it to her.
Wow, I never thought cheeto lasers could act up like that on max rank. Good job. :o
I gotta start using these savestates before you take all the good accomplishments on video first. :3

That Doesn't Means That Those Attacks Inspired Shinki,Right???
Also 2:14 Predicted Touhou 12....
Byaruken is Shinki Reincarnated....
I think the score went so high it turned into hexadecimal
99m was the maximum score in that PC-98 game back then since it was an 8-bit game.
@@oosha2000 Yeah, I mean getting over it sounds incredible to say the least as it's still super high
@@Charlie-pg5wy At least, better than crashing if it couldn't handle the overflow.
Wow... you are really, really good.
So Shinki created the spellcards for any future character... Maybe she had a lot of special meaning to Touhou last bosses i think.
Forgot to mention Mokou
I vowed to never touch this game again and to never remember the experience I had playing it..
(Until Now)
@Irrenhaus3 Huzzah, ambiguous phrasing. :V
Who knew you could make a Touhou game for the gameboy?
Okay zoomer
Boundary of Human and Youkai.
Badass theme song. XD
02:35 Hijiri Byakuren 😀
no gods no masters no hitboxes
There's no "proof", there's just opinions. I find Orin easy for example, but that doesn't mean I'm "wrong".

Er, *what*
Maximum value in the 90s game was 99m back then. Any attempts to bypass the max would change the integer value to something unusual better than crashing.
Come on ZUN, bring Shinki back to Touhou~! (Disappointed from Touhou 12)
how does 2:58 relate to Yukari? I think it relates a little more to Mokou..
shinki is easier than yumeko tbh but those godamn homing cheetos
That give a Darius Gaiden flashbacks
@happytreefriendssuck No. She just learn a couple of things from her
lol the score counter goes to hexadecimal
That's how the 90s game value works lol
Wait did she use the same spell card as Byakuren? The devil recitation..?
GG 1cc
Lol there's so much diference between Touhou 5 and 6 O:
Yeah
0.16 Elis from HRtP ???
Is it bad the only thing I thought while watching this was lolcheetos?
Mabey I should stop playing with you~
This
This is why makai is empty now
So in PC-98 the spellcard rules didn't exist until Touhou 6
Basically they're fighting for life and death right here.
I don't see any difference from normal o_O
Wait.... what sound enhancing mods u usin?
It depends on the emulator setup settings. You can choose either midi or fm 86.
How were these visuals even possible on a 90s PC?
i have same exact questions when i played this game
Yo no entiendo japones
1:05
What, no. You aren't reading that fast. Stop hacking life.
before eosd, was there no "focus"
Max Wang There was. It was introduced in Touhou 3, I think. Either that or 4.
There was focus in mystic square ^^
It existed since Lotus Land Story (Touhou 4)
LLS introduced it but it doesn't show your hitbox.
Well, in the sense that it never actually _focused_ your firepower, no, there wasn't focus until Touhou 6. But in Touhou 4 and Touhou 5 you could still hold down shift to slow your movements.
easy
