I love this shottype. Back when I was learning Touhou this is the one that got me the farthest into SA since routing with it is quite intuitive

The amount of optimization you've shown is amazing. It's so satisfying seeing the routes so well planned and executed, and it didn't seem like you were worried even a little. Great run and a perfect demonstration of what makes the coolest SA shot so cool!

You've got that right where MarisaB is the most fun shot type in SA. Really impressive stuff here, dude. I'll have to use some of these dodging tips I was unaware of to see if I'll perform any better.
I can imagine your nerves during Subterranean Sun. A final spell that *forces* you to move closer to it is just this extra obstacle in the way of dodging the spell. It may be my favorite spell in all of Touhou, but capturing it after doing a perfect run of the game up to that point? Absolutely amazing.

Patchouli's shot is so convenient but.. goddamn it's dps so low

That makes it more balanced though. It makes yuugi way easier, cat mid bosses even orin and most stage portions way easier. And if you focus damage with the red shot I’d say the dps is pretty good. So yeah the shot type is actually pretty good.

Stage portion can be countered pretty well with this shot if you don't mess up with memory, but Parsee nons become difficult if you're Marisa

What are your aim next then? MoF Marisa C? UFO Marisa B? SA Reimu C? Or it's time for the PC-98 because there're literally next to none LNN run of these games on TH-cam.

So I am 4 endings into SA and I played marisaB before but I played it again today in normal diff to practice and I thought I would form some techniques myself from what I have learned from ReimuC. But the techniques and spots you use actually surprised me and I never thought was possible or that I could use these formations like that. For some time I thought marisaB was the most boring but the fact that focusing doesn't change the formation like other shot types is an advantage of itself. Really makes you think if players were exaggerating about SA having bad shot types because these are cool as fuck.
ReimuA seems like the optimal choice but other shots add spice to the game. I enjoyed ReimuB's collecting ability even if it lacked some damage and the homing wasn't as potent as previous touhou's. I enjoyed reimuC's fast ability and its lock on formation which reminded me of sakuyaB from PCB. and I loved the absurd damage of marisaA and its weird net positive trade of bombing and collecting power items.
