Mostly happy with this BC actually, definitely in the better 50% of BC’s so far, I was already trying to fit Yen Illusionist into decks but it was just a bit too expensive/risky, and I’ve always wanted to put Blueboy in ursine ritual decks too, both are probably still a bit weaker than alternatives but I’ll be happier including them for sure
I’ve been using the new buffed version of the plague maiden and i have to say: i like her thus far, removed the dettlaff in my deck to make room for her and she’s pretty good, a nice little engine that can also pose a threat to the opponent if they don’t use a hard removal tool to get rid of her, kinda wish she could use her hability immediately though, or that mosters had more options to poison enemy units.
100% agreed with all your picks except 3 in 'bad' tier good sir. In my mind they're in neutral tier, if I made a tier list. I think the rationale for the living armour and mill deck nerfs from those voting for them is that they think we've quickly been running out of good candidates for power nerfs. I theorise that a lot of NG cultist and mill cards will be 1 power eventually, because of that reason above and the fact that they're despised by many players.
I'm not as opposed to the Living Armor/throwaway rationale as before, but I still think there are other cards that can be addressed before reverting to throwaway nerf slots. That one I will probably become more neutral on over time. As for the Mill cards, even if it's not a fun deck to play against a decent number of people still seem to enjoy playing it and it's not very good so I still don't like nerfing them. This is especially if reverting them takes up future buff slots. If they aren't reverted then it's not as bad, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are which would be problematic. I do understand your perspective though and I don't wholly disagree. I really wish the Balance Council had been implemented with more buff than nerf slots at least for the first year or something since way more cards need buffs than nerfs, but at least we have somthing.
As you know I am always arguing that balance is horrible. But this season I am glad with 90%. Fallen knight love it, I know you called it a nerf but I would say it's a buff. You can finally use damnation on a 2 power to make a fallen knight! Great combo. I like nature card maybe we see more devotion. Open sesame needs to be 5 provision so shady vendor can make it, it's 5 coins for 5 provision and if you are lucky you get 5 extra coin that's perfect. And we got our blue man will look forward to your selfwound video! Traheaern should had been provision nerfed. It could easily be 10+ provision, it's the only card in the game that can ruin your entire game by be played first. Musician I am not gonna agree with you for that simply fact it got 4 animals and should be 1 power pr animal 😂 But other than that the changes are fine.
They're basically taking skill out of the game. You don't have to get better to overcome good cards/decks. Or develop counters to those cards/decks. You simply nerfs those cards/decks. Very disappointed with this balance council stuff.
I hear such mixed things, that either this was a great idea or it wasn’t. For a while it sounded like there were TH-camr’s mostly pushing changes they liked through their audience and now I hear that most of Reddit thinks these changes allowed them to meet or sort of natural “mutually assured destruction” proposition for changes where they work for the betterment of the game. Granted there is always gonna be knee jerk responses to unliked cards I think. Especially when the tools available to tune are limited.
Nilfgaard got way too many nerfs this month. I hate this idea of buffing a faction and making it good then destroying it with nerfs the very next month. I feel like there's too many nerfs each month period, if something is strong focus on buffing the counter, not nerfing the strong cards.
@@Tokuru Consider how many nerfs we saw towards the start of balance council, that still haven't been reverted or changed. The last one just brought NG back to it's pre-council glory, before we saw a million nerfs in this one.
@@speedybob9119I never want NG to return to its pre council glory. I dislike playing against the faction and all its control nonsense, and would happily go 1 or 2 seasons without seeing it, *but* I'm not like those people who called for it deleted from the game when CDPR was in charge, I would want the variety that 6 played factions brings after 1 or 2 seasons of it being a dead faction competitively.

nerfed NG into the ground and buffed SY to become OP when they were already the best faction in the game, wow thanks. Shame game was in a great place last patch and felt refreshing
@@platinumpatrol2964 the staying power of the simple increase of the brawler to 5p, makes lined pockets an extra ungodly oppressive deck, and only needed a slight retooling of the deck by removing one of the already superfluous low golds and adding another bronze crime. This patch I played with my old NG decks that I usually had a good positive winrate on, lost all but two games. Meanwhile I have not lost a single game of lined pockets and usually force forfeits
I guess I understand the idea of increasing Whisperer provisions, if a power increase follows... But I'm still sour about it. There's basically no decks that run that card in the first place, at least I'm not seeing them, and it's already so vulnerable to removal (which, don't get me wrong, it should be), it was barely usable at 5p in niche decks. At 6 I think the card is just dead, even if it goes to 4 power, cause it's so reliant on getting off a combo for it to get any value. Or perhaps I'm seeing this all wrong, I'm far from the greatest player and I've not been around that long, but unless convinced otherwise I'll remain unhappy about that change.
The plan is definitely to buff whisperer by one power after this - the last time it was 4 power 5 provisions it was too strong, and 3 power 4 provisions is too weak - sure it’s only really any good if you can pull off a combo with it, but there are so many ways to do that, and it’s another engine that your opponent has to deal with immediately in most cases, and a lot of decks with limited control will struggle against it
@@tomrowell1558 honestly I'm not so on board with the control angle. There's far more egregious examples of combo decks that require far more control to keep in check, including needing several tall punishes for some. Whisperer, by comparison, dies to a mild breeze with less payoff than a lot of other combos out there. A deck with limited control will always be vulnerable to combo decks, absolutely, but even decks that don't run much control will often have tools to deal with a 3/4 power card. I guess my main sticking point with this is that the card is already kinda bad, why kick it while it's down? As it was at 5p really no true competitive deck used it, but it could still be fitted in meme/themed decks that could work in ideal circumstances and could be fun. At 6p, even at 4 power, I still don't see any competitive deck run it because that's simply too expensive for a card that easily answered, but now it's also practically impossible to fit in lower tier but still somewhat usable decks.
@@willardd yeah at 4 power 6 provisions you would definitely have to build a deck around it more, it couldn’t just be slotted into a deck with a few specials, but that was already the case - I think the aim is to make whisperer fill a similar role as 6p fleders for bleeding, messengers for rain, etc. - expensive bronzes that can be removed easily if they’re not triggered immediately - the difference ofc with whisperer is that it goes wide instead of tall so it can always be removed more easily, but on the flip side it is not vulnerable to tall punish, it can be triggered multiple times in the same turn it’s played for huge value, and it can provide swarm value - also at 4 power 5 provisions there definitely were competitive decks using it, it was incredibly strong and with a couple location orders/orbs you could proc it many times in one turn for huge value, in that season I got one of my highest mmr’s with scoiatel using it
@@tomrowell1558 oh for sure agreed on the 4 power 5 provisions thing, I was referring to its 3 power 5 provisions state from before this BC. I simply see no good reason for that to have changed, it was pretty weak but fine for niche scenarios.
@@willardd yeah I think it was okay at 3 power 5 provisions, but I guess the idea is that it wasn’t a good tech card and it didn’t get great value even with setup, so the planned buff to 4 power 6 provisions gives it better payoff and encourages the deck to focus more on getting whisperer value - we shall have to see next month if it works out better
