    Hi i just wanted to ask how about if the baby is sleeping how to burp him/her?

    • @DadGoodOfficial
      @DadGoodOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the great question, Julie! If your baby is falling asleep before feeding is complete, use the shoulder hold for burping. If baby wakes while being positioned, she’s most likely to go back to sleep while burping on your shoulder. However, if your baby isn’t having enough to eat before falling asleep, try the lap position to wake her for a few more minutes on the bottle or breast. I hope this helps!

  • @megyyyyyyy

    In intro baby's hands shouldn't be wide open but together, it's like that in babyhandling practice. Also, there is no need to provide a support for the lower body at example no.1, just hold your baby at her upper torso and a little bit higher on your chest. Also, for babies that aren't sitting on their own position no. 2 is so wrong because it's making a pressure on the pelvis. May some pediatrician or a physio correct me.

    Thanks for the info! I would be careful with Earth's Best formula since it has soy and that's not good for a baby's development. The pediatrician we saw in the NICU was strongly against soy in formula because of that. I like By Heart's formula. It's going to be more expensive, but it's for the baby! Fortunately, our baby has plenty of breast milk though.

    • @DadGoodOfficial
      @DadGoodOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Congrats on your little one! 🎊🍾🎉🥳 Every baby is different. Some don’t burp often (my third fell into this category), but it’s important to go through the motions in case your baby needs to burp. If your baby is breast fed, she’s less likely to take in air while feeding reducing her need to burp. If she seems uncomfortable during or after feeding, even after burping, then I’d recommend talking to her pediatrician about potential causes.

    Well, first of all when baby new born till ~4 month,when baby hangin on your sholder it' s very bad to let baby sit at your arm, you have to hold gently around his shoilders area with one hand and another can be free or just gently push around his but area. Otherwise by doing that you compressing his spine, and in the future baby may have problems with the back.

    • @DadGoodOfficial

      Thanks for the great question! As long as your baby’s neck and back are supported, these positions are safe and effective.

    Hi, How long do I tap for Burp, because maximum i can't hear or understand

    • @DadGoodOfficial
      @DadGoodOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the question! Patting for about a minute is a good rule of thumb, then, if there’s no burp, take a break for a bit and try again. Pay attention to your baby’s regular rhythms of eating and burping. I have 3 kids; one was extremely gassy and difficult to burp, one was gassy but burped easily, and the other had no trouble with gas, and rarely burped after meals. All were bottle fed. Every baby is different. It takes a little time to learn their tendencies and get into a routine that everyone is happy with, but it’ll come.

    You didn't include my husband's favorite and worked every time with our younger son. Position as you did with your second method, drape burp cloth over your hand that is under baby's chin, free hand on baby's back, thumb one ribs, fingertips on ribs on other side and gently apply pressure to make the baby squirm. I wasn't as good with this method because my hands are smaller.

    • @DadGoodOfficial
      @DadGoodOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Julie! I haven’t heard of that method, but encouraging your baby to move is a good way to help him release trapped air. I like to rub my daughter’s back while she’s in the shoulder position to encourage movement. Sixty percent of the time it works every time 😂 (I wonder if anyone will get that reference). Thanks for the comment!

    If they don’t burp, they vomit isn’t?

    • @DadGoodOfficial
      @DadGoodOfficial  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the question! Your baby will not necessarily spit up if she doesn’t burp. It depends on how much air she takes in during feeding. Breast feeding leads to less air being ingested than bottle feeding, but every baby is different. My first two kids needed to burp or they were uncomfortable, and they both spit up regularly. However, my third child rarely burped and almost never spit up. All three were primarily bottle fed. Hope this helps!
