Hi Ralph Another great video - very enjoyable ( Gary from the Nordhavn 41). We were at Dent Island many years ago - absolutely awesome place, which we hope to visit again. Thanks for posting your videos and I hope you continue to do so. I don’t doubt that it is a time consuming exercise but you and Lisa do a great job and I certainly appreciate your efforts. Hi Gary, thanks for the positive feedback! Nice to meet John and yourself the other day. As you can see by our commentary in this video we love Nordhavns! Yours is beautiful - we wish you many miles of safe and happy cruising!
I cruised Desolation sound in the 1990s in my 17 foot open powerboat. I trailered it north from Seattle and took ferry boats around open waters, then put the boat in for cruising. Great experience! I also cruised all of Puget Sound, San Juan and Gulf Islands and the Columbia and Snake Rivers from the mouth of the Columbia to Lewiston, Idaho. Never had any need for a boat bigger than what I had. Sometimes it required some judgement and seamanship to decide when to go and when not to go.
Cinnamon buns used to be made by Bill (??) and his kids inside Squirrel cove in the '90s. He stayed in a shack on the beach. His kids asked nightly if you wanted bread or buns in the morning. They used to deliver them to the boat. Man were they good!! Back then, marine gas was around 60 - 70 cents a litre. 😁
I was admiring your boat while enjoying the video, then I caught the North Pacific logo during a quick pan of the camera. I have NP4504. I'm hoping to make it up to Desolation Sound again (when the border opens). Right now the boat is in Portland for the winter. I really enjoyed your video. Cheers!
What cruising book/s do you use/recommend? We'd be very interested to know of one that covers the Broughton island too. Preferably one/s with more cruising information than ads. Ty
Hi, we really like the Dreamspeaker Cruising Guides - I believe they have one that covers the Broughtons. We also have a recent Waggoner cruising guide on board, plus a bunch of older guide books by Peter Vassilopoulos
We are just watching the first video of yours that we have watched. When you were at Dent Island Resort on the docks there was a Nordhaven 55 which you commented on but there was also a Fleming 55 which you did not. Just wondered if there is a issue with Fleming we don’t know about. Can you comment please?
Hi! No issues at all, we're just big fans of the Nordhavns and their blue water capabilities. From everything I've seen and heard the Flemings are also capable and beautiful boats. Perhaps leaning a bit more towards luxury over utility. There are some great videos on TH-cam for both brands.
Your channel popped up as an option and I really enjoyed this video. Curious when you took this trip last year and will you be able to head out again this year?
Hi Brad, thanks for the feedback. The trip was in July 2020 - unusually cool and wet for that time of year but we made the best of it. We've been doing weekend cruises this year and looking forward to a few longer cruises in the summer.

Great share of your cruising adventure. That was a a packed trip for only 2 1/2 weeks. ❤️ 👍
Beautiful interesting video.
LOVE your channel. We subscribed. We also cruise with a cat. (And rumors of another that's a stowaway!) Thanks for sharing! Aloha!
O how I remember cruising that whole area back in the 50's with my family totally deserted then cruising on our Blanchard 33 sail boat
Wow! Just finding your channel now! Great video! I subbed. I hope all is well!

Really nice !
Really nice new boat ! Congratulations to you from Quebec :-)
Pretty trusting to leave an orange tabby cat on board while you explore. My cat would hijack the boat for some salmon fishing.
We hide the key!

Living in Puget Sound, missing the enjoyment of desolation sound. Please OPEN the Border!
Fingers crossed, won't be long now..
Music is excessively much to LOUD and drowns out the commentary, which might have been very interesting ?
